Exploring Aswan's Nubian Village: Egypt's Golden Gem 🇪🇬

2022 ж. 4 Сәу.

Aswan was our last stop in Egypt, and we had the privilege of enjoying authentic Nubian hospitality. The Nubian people reside in southern Egypt and northern Sudan and have their very own language and culture. We knew we had to pay the Nubian village a visit, so from Aswan, we took a boat to a nearby island with colorful homes and welcoming residents. We got to enjoy a delicious Nubian meal under the stars before heading to the Aswan airport, where we unfortunately encountered a very upset Egyptian policeman. 🇪🇬

  • So awesome!!! The Nubian people are so significant to the foundation of Egyptian history. They are the brown skinned gods and pharaohs depicted in the temples and monuments all throughout Egypt.

  • I love your series - but what you must know is that Aswan, Sharm El Sheikh - and several areas are high security so filming inside airports and facilities are a no-no. Especially if you're seen continuously shooting and panning the premises. It's something that many bloggers need to understand.

  • Sorry about the police personnel thing, thing is Egypt faced an isis insurgency from 2013 to 2018 so security is really tight especially around gov buildings, airports, churches, embassies etc… cams aren’t allowed not to show internal layout of buildings, number or equipment used by security personnel. It’s inconvenient but it’s for your safety as tourists.

    @perra5910@perra59102 жыл бұрын
    • How on earth would u guys be insurgents? It is so annoying and puts a little dent on Egypt. but love you guys .

      @bossdeman@bossdeman2 жыл бұрын
    • @@bossdeman well we were not insurgents but we had one. just look at the past 12 year at countries that had revolutions or insurrections. Ukraine, Venezuela, Colombia, Algeria, Tunisia, libya, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen. It just goes down hill afterwards. Total anarchy gripped Egypt in 2011 to 2013 resulting in an islamic government being elected. Luckily we remedied the situation fast by taking to the streets and returning the power to the army. Islamists didn’t just return home, the took arms and aligned themselves with isisfrom 2014 onward. The Egyptian army destroyed over 10,000 cars trying to cross from libya alone from 2014 to 2019 and killed over 10,000 jihadis in sinai. And occasionally terrorism spilled in the heart of the country. We lost over 1800 civilians and military personnel in that insurgency but luckily we ended it. That’s why security here is really tight.

  • You dont need to worry about exploring the street by yourself. Whatever is stereotyped about Egypt being not safe is not true. The phase of instability is long gone since 2014 and even then people were still hospitable and nice and would never harm you. And bargaining is a thing that even us Egyptians have to do 😅

  • It's never a bright idea to film in foreign airports, for future reference. Many airports also serve as military bases and they consider fliming to be a breach of security at the best, potential espionage at worst.
