TRANSNISTRIA, the Country That Doesn’t Exist, Just Asked for RUSSIA’S Protection

Moldova is one of the 15 former republics of the Soviet Union. However, in the early 1990 s, this Union of Soviet Republics entered into a crisis that would lead to its disappearance. Thus, Moldova regained its independence. Declared Moldovan as its only official language and abandoned the Cyrillic alphabet, used by the Russian language and adopted the Latin alphabet. The problem was that Moldova, was inhabited not only by Moldovans, but also by Russians who had settled in the east of the country two centuries ago. This territory in the east of Moldova, inhabited mostly by Russians, is known as Transnistria. And, while Moldova was rebuilding its independence and moving away from its Soviet past, in Transnistria, they refused to abandon Mother Russia, so this region declared its independence from Moldova in 1990, wrote its own constitution and its own anthem. In response, Moldova tried to suppress Transnistria's separatist sentiments. This ended in a war that lasted two years. Russia's military support was definitive for Transnistria, a region that since 1992, has had Russian troops installed there and depends on Russian economic aid to survive. So since 1992, Transnistria functions as an independent state with its own currency, army and delimited territory, but it is not recognized by the international community. It does not even appear on maps, let alone participate in the Olympic Games. In fact, not a single UN country recognizes its independence. Most recognize it as part of Moldova. Although Russia does not officially recognize Transnistria as an independent country either, it does maintain close ties with the region. Of the 500,000 people living in Transnistria, more than half are Russians, some 1,500 Russian soldiers remain there. And the government is run by pro-Russian separatists. For three decades, the situation remained relatively stable. However, everything seems to be about to change because on February 28, 2024, the Transnistrian government, asked Russia for help to protect the region against threats from Moldova. So the questions are: why did Transnistria ask for Russia's protection? Why might all this be a plan to invade Moldova? And how vulnerable is Moldova, to a possible Russian invasion?

  • That's how propaganda works. They asked for help not only from Russia, but from the EU and other countries.

  • I really appreciate the dedication in each video you post. Long term investor's know that the market and economy will recover eventually, and investors should be positioned for such a rebound, I gained $180k from bitcoin in 2023, before the market crash and now I am buying again, adding more at a time. Having a good financial advisor like Ethan Jackson, will add to your success in the crypto market.

    • @@againstviralmisinformation510 The Romanian-speaking Moldovans have been there for many, many centuries. The reason why the boundaries of Moldova are drawn on the east bank of the Nistru is because it was a Romanian-speaking area before WWII. Indeed, the word "Trsansnistria" is Romanian. Almost all the Russian-speaking "Transnistrians" are the result of immigration from other parts of the USSR (mostly Russia) since WWII. They are NOT native to Transnistria.

      @markaxworthy2508@markaxworthy25082 ай бұрын
    • @@markaxworthy2508 you are conflating two different things. Are Russians as an ethnicity originally from Transnistria no. No one is claiming that just that the Slavic people there are native to that land because they were born there. It would be absurd to say that we must use origin to know who has the right of land when the Thracian tribes were the original inhabitants of these lands not Romanians. If a person from the Thracian tribes said this is my land, Romans get out. That would be absurd I can’t go to Africa and say my ancestors are from here anyone who’s ethnicity didn’t originate here get out. I would be laughed at and for good reason. A person in Moldova proper doesn’t have the same right to Transnistria as does an ethnic Russian or Ukrainian or Gagauz that was born in Transnistria.
