"They Just Never Came Back" | Post-Pandemic School Children Missing
Alex Phillips and Christopher Snowdon discuss the potential causes and economic impact of working from home and school absenteeism.
Phillips suggested that parents working from home may contribute to a rise in school absences, while Snowdon questioned whether this is the primary cause.
Both agreed that the pandemic and teaching unions' refusal to open schools during the Covid-19 pandemic had led to a rise in truancy, with the biggest gap in attendance in primary schools.
They also highlighted how working from home has affected city centres, leading to a decline in footfall and impacting businesses such as sandwich shops and pubs.

Go back 3 years ago this guy was a massive lockdown supporter what a pathetic joke he is
UK teachers: have you seen a rise in challenging behaviour from pupils
You mean post-lockdown. Not post-pandemic.
Agree. There was no P an demic
Agree with your statement entirely
Have you seen how hard it is to look after kids while working from home? I can’t really see how you can do both effectively at the same time… if you work from home I don’t really understand why you would actually WANT your kids at home during that time!
The children will be on Xbox all day, the parents will throw in a packet of crisps!! 223children murdered in lockdown in the uk.
@@Julieoscar1 really, now very judgemental of you, you're the one being gaslighted lol,
@@francescostello1377 strange how you totally ignore the fact that 223 children murdered in lockdown… says more about you than me . I am not replying to anymore of your nonsense.. and I do not wish to communicate with someone who would try and wash over such a thing. You are muted
No 119 children died from neglect and abuse, the rest seriously harmed during the lock down, still far too high and a shock @@Julieoscar1
Pandemic? What pandemic are they referring to? None of us have ever lived through a pandemic an that's a fact
