The Bakhmut pocket has lasted an impressively long time. Whether or not that's a good thing is beyond my ability to definitively say because we, in the general public, don't have a full view of the tactical situation on the battlefield or the broader strategic picture. Still, Bakhmut has taken on an astounding socio-political role for such a small city. I hope Ukraine finds victory and / or peace on its terms ASAP but no matter how long it takes, I'm confident the world will support them. If the Ukrainian will to fight persists, then military aid will also persist. Keep up the good work Georgi. I appreciate your open, proud pro-Ukrainian attitude and honesty with your viewers. Your fighting Russian propaganda and rallying people to Ukraine's cause! What's more, your analysis is genuinely valuable.

Wagner may have taken his life but they did so at their own expense. Thanks Georgie, like you said, the nature of crimes outlined in the warrant are a separate issue. One that is not easy to escape because we all saw those kids from Mariupol on stage at that ridiculous concert. If we set aside the horrible events in Bucha and other places, kidnapping children is one of the most heinous crimes and is probably far more damaging in terms of image than his other crimes. A leader of a country who’s seen doing business with an accused trafficker of children is not a good look.🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Recent developments at Bahkmut make me believe that the orcs, including Wagner, have passed their zenith. Attacks are dropping off, munition is being rationed, the Wagners are nearly a spent force (otherwise Prickgoshin wouldn't be on another recruitment drive). The narrow and muddy supply line is being kept open by pushing up against the north and south pincers and fresh troops are readying for what could be the coup de grace. A decisive victory here would be worth its weight in gold (or at least 10 brigades) for the Ukies. It would blow the Russian mind.
News about Wagner only getting 20% of the shells they need sounds good. Now Ukraine just has to keep up the pressure and stretch their supply lines.

Georgiy thank you so much for this podcast. 1. Some reporters talk to soldiers in very dire situations and the reporters think that Bahmut will fall instantly. Thank you for a realistic review of the situation. 2. Thank you again for your analysis of the effect of the ICC arrest warrant for Putin and the ringleader of the human traffiking. Pootin is stuck in Russia, unless his pilot conveniently strays into international airspace and his plane is forced to land by some now Ukrainian piloted MIGs. What if he flies into China and China turns him over to the ICC? He can't trust anyone. Would Xi Jinping feel at ease visiting Pootin in Russia?
If the Americans and NATO are so organized, they should be providing the proper long-range weapons so Bakhmut can never fall. This is what real friends are all about. 😍

Today I send a body double to Mariupol so I'd seem like I'm as cool as Zelensky is. Unfortunately Zelensky is still surrounded by all the cool people while only surrounded by my stupid trolls. I remain a master strategist.

Something else to consider, to drive home the meaning behind the arrest warrant would be to have an InterPol Red Notice issued for Vladimir Putin. It destroys any notion Putin will be able to run from this warrant. Slava Ukraini!

And I do hope your analysis of Bakhmut turns out to be correct, not only because of the territorial aspects and the decimation of Wagner forces that it implies, but also the political/reputational/morale damage to Prigozhin and russian forces in general.

Navy seals in Ramadi got really good at urban warfare in Iraq. They would use a method called siege, clear, hold and build, which is slow and requires really well trained combat engineers, but is very effective. If you're in a town that has mostly 1 story buildings, then take a 2 story building. Clear it, fortify it and then move to the next 2 story building. Rinse and repeat until you have the whole city.
And ypu're confirming that for the russisns because what again?

@@nooboftheyear7170 russia has neither will nor the capability to execute this kind of warfare. The US literally had the best combat engineers in the world and this still took them months to do. This is also a counter-insurgency technique and may not be as effective against another military force of equal size and capability. Surrounding and seizing, cutting off supply lines is generally the preferred technique to avoid the urban combat in the first place, similar to what ukriane did in kherson.
