I love foundation reviews as much as eyeshadow videos.
Angelica, you look radient in those tones of blue (shirt and eye makeup)!
Thank you!
That eyelook with your shirt is stunning, Angie 💙💙💙
I just got the Prada foundation. I’m testing it today, and I am really hoping it can handle my tretinoin and rosacea nasties. I really don’t think people mention climate enough when reviewing products, and I appreciate that you bring up things like temperature and humidity when discussing makeup performance. It’s so dry where I am that the milk hydrogrip primer peels off my face. Peels. Like a chunky sunburn. I have vacation products for warm humid weather and dry cold weather products, and undoubtedly my skin reacting to both extremes plays a large part in how my makeup appears.
oh that is dry climate indeed haha :D
🙋🏾♀️If you want a really good hydrating primer, the Armani Luminous Silk primer is soooo good!
Update: My skin ate it. Four pumps to be able to use a foundation brush and get an even application. My old ass skin ate it like it was its job.
I am not on the hunt for a new foundation, but still gonna watch because you are my fave youtuber ever
You're the best! 🙈❤
I’m very curious about the Laura Mercier one. Her tinted moisturizer was my HOOOOOLY GRAAAAAIL for yeeeears. People complimented my skin during those years in a way they never did before that product, and haven’t done since. It always made my eyes sting after many hours of using it (and I did apply it all over my lids and dark circles just like a regular moisturizer) but I honestly didn’t even care. I wasn’t abandoning that product for anything. Then, lo and behold, they reformulated it. Maybe there was something irritating in it, I don’t know. But the new formula PILLED like crazy, and pilling is the one thing I find absolutely disgusting and unacceptable in a product. It completely broke my heart. It was my secret weapon for looking amazing. Gone!!!!!! The way you liked it in the first try-on gave me hope. Let’s see what you think!!!!
Oh that's interesting!
I find that some products pill if I use them with certain moisturizers. I haven’t figured out what the combination of ingredients are that causes this problem, but I suspect that one of them may be moisturizers containing bees wax. I have not tried Laura Mercier, but as someone who also finds pilling disgusting, I thought you might appreciate that info.
I love the new Laura Mercier foundation. I got my first "your skin looks so nice" compliments while wearing it! That's like the ultimate makeup compliment when somebody thinks it's just your skin that looks that good 😅 I've been loving it since last year and I'm glad other people are liking it too! One thing I've noticed is that it can be very sensitive to the skincare underneath so I'm not sure if you would like it because of that. I found that it looks perfect over my favorite sunscreen so that's one reason why I love it. Also I love that it wears so beautifully all day, but it isn't drying like most satin/matte foundations that wear well. Those foundations actually wear worse on me because my skin dries out and looks awful within an hour or two. With the LM foundation my skin stays hydrated somehow and it continues to look beautiful for many hours!
@@wiltedblonde I used to use it as my only moisturizer. I would just put on two light layers, usually. One for moisture and the next would be for building coverage. I was younger back then, didn't need so much moisturizer. I was kinda oily, if anything. I know it can be so annoying to have to figure out which combo of products can cause pilling, though! Arg! :D
@@oceanbird. Well dang, I guess I have to try it.... especially since now I am seeing that Angie has it as number one! I commented before I saw what she said about it! Yay!
I just discovered you a few days ago & I have been BINGING your videos. While I’m cleaning, showering, driving like I’m so in it 😂 you’re too funny & entertaining. We have very different taste but I love hearing your opinions. I also love long videos by the way lol
I’ve been wearing LM foundation for months! It’s my absolute favorite.
I love foundation reviews!!!!! 💛🌻
I Have Too 💯 % Agree With You On That !! 👏🏻👏🏻🧡💛
I have been super loving the Mizon Snail Repair BB cream. On me it looks great and lasts all day. One of my current favorites right now.
Thank you for this review! I bought the Laura Mercier foundation after a few speed reviews but they said it wasn’t good for oily skin. I was about to return it before use but with this video, I’m keeping it! I’m 45 with combo oily skin. I’m running to my makeup room right now to use this foundation and give it some love! Love you 💛
The About Face reminds me of Glossier. Good for minimal makeup wearers that already have really good skin.
This was super helpful! I've never been attracted to luxury brand foundation, but that Prada one is calling my name!
I like the About Face, its just a little too light coverage to fully deseat my current favorite the Lisa Eldridge. It does look pretty on my normal skin. I'll use it, but not sure I'd rebuy. I will check out the Laura Mercier one though!
I am not buying a new foundation. I have some products that work beautifully on me now. By the time I need a replacement, everything will be new again! Thank you for this.❤
You are helping to distract me! I'm having major surgery tomorrow to save the use of my fingers (it's a long story I had an accident and tore my wrist cartilage 28 yeats ago, but the upshot is my carpal bones are now falling to pieces). So I have been practising doing my make up with both hands as my wrist will no longer bend, so I use my right hand for my right eye and left hand for my left eye! I'm doing quite well with the eyeshadow and blending, mascara is okay, but eyeliner is a disaster 🤡 I am still into the Danessa Myricks blurring balm in shade 1 with Fenty Eaze Drops in shade 1. I'm 45, my skin is looking pretty good right now so I just want light coverage but I can get really oily, hence the blurring balm. I was really interested in the Haus labs foundation but it seems to suit people with drier skin.
I am sending lots of positive thoughts for your surgery, I hope for a speedy recovery
Good morning Angie! Happy Wednesday 😊
Good morning!
I can only speak on the Laura Mercier foundation, I love it. I am 45 and it is very flattering!
I ordered my Besty and myself the Laura Mercier Flawless Foundation for her Birthday. We like it very much. Oh and your so correct on the KVD Good Apple Serum foundation. Matte for drier skin people! Ya
I want to try the laura mercier one so badly but i cannot justify a blind buy like that... i wish i could see it in person so i could colour match :/
I have seen it in store at most department stores, Ulta and Sephora. So eventually I hope you are lucky and can run into it :)
Yeah same here, I'm suuuuper pale and it's impossible for me to buy foundation blindly. But I don't think it's available anywhere in stores here in Germany.
@@AngelicaNyqvist thank you that is great advice i will go if i travel but unfortunatelly where i live i have to go to a neighboring country to see sephora xD perks of living in a tiny europian country xD
@@autumnautopsy so you get my struggle in Slovenia xD altough i do appreciate that we have a little less consumerism here hahah
You are so naturally beautiful 😍😍 i really enjoyed this video 😊❤
Thank you so much!!
@@AngelicaNyqvist OMG I Can't Believe You Replied Too My Comment 😍😍 You're One Of My Favourite KZheadrs And I Think That You're Really Talented And So Naturally Beautiful (I Know I've Already Said That But I Am Honestly So Happy That You Replied ☺☺) I Hope You And Your Husband And Your Pets Have A Great Day Today !! I Can't Wait For A New Video From You But Until Then I Am 100% Going To Be Watching All Of Your Videos 💛🧡💛🧡
The eyelook!!! Beautiful!
LOVED this video! I am buying both of ur favs!
I'm in need of a new foundation, so I'm here for this! 😊❤
I don't need any new foundations but I love hearing you talk about these!
your eye look is beautiful, very pretty ❤
Your skin is literally glowing in this video I love it! Great to see this video and have yourself a wonderful week!
Okay, you sold me on that Cover Girl foundation. It sounds like perfection to me!
I hope the new year is treating you well. You’ve had a lot of exciting things these past months 😊can’t wait to see your home tour.
Thank you I'm actually looking for a new foundation
Love this
I usually love the stuff you recommend and i definitely want to pick up the cover girl. Im actually getting a similar one from rose inc in my ipsy box this month. I can't wait to try both!
Thats a nice one too :D
Just ordered your face brushes 🎉 I’m so excited and I’m gonna try the new covergirl foundation sounds like something I’m gonna love, thx for all the recommendations 🫶🏼
Great to know review on the foundations.you tried. I found this verp helpful in products that I thought about purchasing. Thanks for reviewing them. Love your eyes today, so beautiful ❤
I bought the Cover Girl based on your recommendation, and I love it! I also tried the new Revolution skin tint and think it's amazing!
It's so good!
Hi Angelica, thank you very much for doing this video, it is very helpful to us when it comes to choosing a new foundation, I love your eyeshadow creation in this video. Love Katherine xoxo
I’m intrigued to try the LM foundation, but have honestly been blown away by the newest from Makeup Revolution! Skin silk serum
Yes! I’m so glad you love the CoverGirl skin tint. I absolutely love it too! It’s perfect for days I’m in a hurry and just want to even out my skin tone. Or if I just don’t feel like wearing a full face, but I also don’t want to be bare faced. I want that Prada foundation so bad I can’t stand it 😂. That maaaay be my next makeup purchase. I thought that About Face foundation looked patchy on Heather Austin too. I don’t know what it is but it just looks like it covers good in some areas, but other areas looks bare or thin coverage. And it’s definitely not user error because you two know how to apply foundation beautifully, every time.
The Laura Mercier foundation is light coverage to me lol. I have very bad broken capillaries on my face. I think people with nice, more even skin tend to think things are more coverage. I do really enjoy it but i don't get more than light medium coverage for sure.
Thank you for the recommendations. I am definitely going to try the Cover Girl.
It's so good!
Thanks for another great video, Angelica! I saw someone comment that enough youtubers talk about climate when reviewing makeup and I agree. I really appreciate all the variables you mention when reviewing products so we can make as informed a decision as possible. You’re awesome!
Thank you!
I have the Chanel water tint foundation and I love it but I really want to try the cover girl for a fraction of the cost. Thank you!
I’ve tried a few of these recently (Laura Mercier and ELF, but I have to say that my greatest discovery (or rediscovery I should say) has been the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless from HEB. I’ve forgotten just hpw good this is.
Love a good foundation review! I really like when you do by-category product reviews, they are always so well-explained and helpful ❤😊
Thank you, I am so happy you like them :D
I need to try the Laura Mercier!😊 I haven't tried the Cover Girl or the Chanel, but I love the Rose Inc tint with the encapsulated beads. I can apply it in a minute with my fingers, and then run out of the door to work. 😂🙈 x
I have combo skin and rarely put foundation on my forehead so it needs to be a perfect match to blend seamlessly. I have a warm undertone but not yellow so that can be tricky when the brand shades lean really yellow. Luckily, I like light to medium coverage and a natural finish so that can help. I don’t mind if the foundation is more glowy or dewy because I always set with powder. When I was younger I would only use powder foundation and then I got more into bb creams and now I love a skin tint. I feel like I can always use concealer for more coverage in certain spots. I will have to try the covergirl one
I hope i can get my hands on the elf foundation this year. We never get new drugstore items in a timely fashion around here. The lip oils have finally reached my target.
What palette is that in your eyes? GORGEOUS 💚 😍
Good morning beautiful 😍 Angie. Loving your hair color ❤❤
Good morning! :D
I can't help but love the About Face foundation because F2 Olive is the best shade match I've ever had, but I agree that it is light coverage (luckily, that is my preference anyway) AND the applicator sucks. I wish they'd release a pump for it. Super tempted to try CoverGirl. I was curious about Laura Mercier, until I saw the price. Holy cow, $52?!
good morning! I just tried the Revlon Illuminance foundation and really liked it
Good to know!
Thanks for this! I'm stoked to see Cover Girl so highly ranked, gotta check that one out. Have you tried the Guerlain Terracotta Le Teint? Would love your thoughts bc I think we're similar skin types. I got a really great shade match and I'm loving it so far! But of course, it's also $$ 😭
I really like the Laura Mercier foundation although it is a bit orange. I have to mix it with other foundations.
I just got the elf one so I haven't tried it. The about face is a light to medium coverage which I don't mind... but I want medium to full 😅. I like it for my combo skin, the shade match was perfect for me.
I just ordered the Cover Girl one. I wanted to hear your opinion before I ordered it. Thanks!
I can confirm❤❤❤ the Laura mercier one is just incredible, Iam 22 with slightly dry or normal skin, this foundation is soo lightweight, feel like nothing but medium to full coverage. Best ever. I was so proud of myself for buying it.😂 My Top1 of all time ❤
I really liked the Polite Society but you are so right! It is not long wearing. It looks so good for like 3 hours but I have super oily skin. I do recommend it for dry skin bc it truly is gorgeous.
Yeah for oily skin it's just too dewy for long wear
I’m curious about your number 1!
The Laura Mercier has been on my mind for foundation for a while. But I can't bring myself to spend that much. I just keep sticking to my Maybelline fit me dewy. Lol I've gone through 4 bottles last year.
I know it's a lot, but I've seen some really good reviews on the new Louboutin foundation! It's on its way to me now
oh I might have to look at some reviews too!
@@AngelicaNyqvist oh! And I remember you were having some trouble with your under eyes bc of tret- there's a korean brand called pyunkang yul. Their Black Tea eye patches are so amazing if you're into them
I bought the first gucci foundation and decluttered it after using it only a couple times. I hated it. The rare beauty foundation that came out first with the doe foot was the absolute worst foundation I've ever used in my entire life. It looked like my entire face was covered in dry skin chunks. I have bought and tried and hated so many foundations in the past few years wasting thousands of dollars. I recently learned i can return them or just get samples made by the person working the sephora counter. I didn't know they would do that. I feel like samples never have enough to teat it though. Most foundation samples don't even have enough product to cover one application on my giant face. 😂 sorry I'm chatty.
I thought that the tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier went on a bit heavy was not a yi Tinted moisturizer like before.
Have you tried the Makeup by Mario foundation and concealer? They’re my go to lately !!!
They were a tad too glowey for my combo skin, but they look gorg when they go on :)
really wish you could try the chanel complexion touch your opinion beacause we have the same skin type ❤
maybe I'll get to it one day :D
I have the cover girl, and it looks so nice but after hours of wear, I got pretty shiny and looked like i needed to blot or powder. I'm considering the Laura Mercier, not sure which shade to get.
Might have to try out that covergirl one! I usually stick to various powders since I also have oily skin and just about every other formula I've tried dosen't agree with it
It just looks so fresh on me :D
I bought a full size armani luminous silk foundation a couple years ago, used it once didn't love it and then it disappeared. I searched everywhere and couldn't find it to test further. Yesterday i received an order of the smaller size that i used a rewards gift card on. It's light coverage on me which really confused me lol. I am wearing it today and i can say i think i like it better now. I cannot believe i lost a foundation that was that expensive. I've also heard everyone always only say how high the coverage is and how natural and longwearing it is. It's completely off my nose where my glasses rest after only an hour of wear and i swear it's light buildable coverage. It is pretty though. The mini one was $45 i just can't believe i lost it before 😂
Jag skulle tycka det var så kul om du testade MACs nya foundation, Studio Radiance Serumpowered Foundation! Vi har samma hudtyp och jag är snart 48 år. Blir lätt oljig i T-zonen. Skulle vara intressant att höra vad du tycker om den och hur den fungerar på dig.
Love your foundation reviews! Every one in my makeup tray was purchased on the basis of your evaluation. The Fenty Eaze Drop is great for "no makeup" days, and I'm loving the Fenty stick foundation for every day. To my surprise the Too Faced Healthy Glow is great for the pool and outdoor days with that extra dose of sunscreen. (Their "Born This Way" foundation makes me look like I was born using spackle on my face!) Thanks for improving my look!
I absolutely hated the Laura Mercier foundation. It never set down and settled into every line on my face. It also broke up terribly. I have dry skin and this was allegedly great for dry skin. It’s a hard pass from me. It’s the first product I ever returned to Sephora. I might try the Polite Society - might.
I was kinda on the lookout for a new foundation so this came at the right time. I would also like to ask you and your fan base what do you use to keep your glasses from sliding? My nose gets very oily pretty quickly and I'm constantly having to take them off, dab the oil off my nose and glasses. As someone who wears them at least 8 hours a day this becomes very annoying. Any suggestions?
Oh I still have the same issue, but I will say putting a little extra powder down on the sides of the nose helps :)
I wear glasses so here is what I would suggest: 1 - go back to where you got them and have them adjust them, the ear things can be bent down to keep them from sliding or the arms can be bent in to help. Also getting the correct size to start with helped a ton. Many places simply don’t tell you they come in friggin sizes… 2 - put a slick but grippy primer on the part that rests on nose and then powder it. This also helps it not wreck the makeup on face. 3 - last resort, those weird little pads you can stick on but get the rubbery ones. Good luck, the battle rages on lol
Yeah I’ve also heard putting some setting powder on the pads of the glasses too, and on the nose area.
I've never tried it myself, but I've heard of people using either a mattifying primer or an eyeshadow primer where the glasses rest on the nose. Or maybe one of those sticky primers (from Elf or Milk). Might be worth a shot!
You moved from Sweden to Texas!? I'm forty as well.
Does that "pick your shade" app on the website work? I want to try this and they are no longer sold out, so I was hoping to try this. Javon Ford says try with squalene, so I have products with that I can put on beforehand. it looks great, but color matching is tricky.
What eyeshadow are you wearing? ❤
It's not revealed yet, but coming later this week :)
🖤
I couldn't find a shade match in the Laura Mercier. Everything was either too yellow or too light or too dark 😢
❤❤❤
The best foundation I have ever used is actually Laura Gellar's Quench-n-Tint. I have a light olive skin color and this matches me perfectly. The name, to me, implies that you don't get much coverage, but that isn't true. It's a perfect medium coverage that is buildable! I can't do without it!!! 😊
The CG and LM.....Do you think itll be ok on oily skin?
I use them with the Glow Recipe mattifying primer and they hold up good on me throughout the day :) I have more combo with an oily t-zone though
I get so confused with the Tarte ones, they change the names but I have one in this packaging already so idk if it’s the same or new. I got the Cover Girl one and it’s way too light for me.
✨💗✨
You are extremely beautiful so that helps
💚💙💜
lol, I’m just nosey 😅
Yea I’m never buying Prada hahaha
Polite Society is owned by the old two faced owners, so I probably will pass on that product. 😊
About Face is not meant to be full coverage. It's perfect for a light, dewy foundation on your face.
I read the brand's own description of the product, they describe it as buildable to whatever coverage you want. I just don't agree. And like I said in the video my main complaint was that it looked patchy on the skin.
I have been looking for a new foundation but I feel like makeup KZheadrs stop posting foundation reviews/ fav foundation lists. Everyone only makes try-on videos with foundations or trying viral makeup videos.
I tried the Armani Luminous silk foundation, and i quite like it! But it’s so expensive 🥲 have you tried it?
