Music video by Culture Club performing Do You Really Want To Hurt Me (2004 Digital Remaster).
Who is here in 2024?????
Been here since the 80's
Мы здесь!
OPa!!! De Jundiaí, SP Brasil...
exactly Good song
I remember watching this video 6 years old thinking this man is like no one Ive seen.
I remember when I bought this album as a kid, I played it so much that my sister said, "Yes, I really DO want to hurt you!" ☺
Lollllll that was a really good one you sent it out of the stadium
LOL
Lol......
Lmao, luv your sis!
haha
Culture Club was one of the groups that defined the 80's, as a kid I don't remember ever questioning Boy George's sexuality, I don't think I even cared cause it didn't matter because his singing voice was impeccable.
Esque el nos ganó con su talento no con sus ideas de género. Yo siendo mujer, me atrae ese hombre. Jeje 😊

The man could sing.. no one will ever take that away from him.
The man -could- *can* sing...
in a way.... they did just that!
He was dancing in background when the Jets were on top of the tops ❤❤
Agreed.👍
He’s still singing!
Boy George took a lot of sh** in the 80s and was ahead of his time...the whole group was. Give Culture Club the recognition they deserve, folks. 🙌🏾❤️

Bruh there’s white people with blackface in this video. How ahead of their time we’re they really?
I dont think kids today understand that. The 80s were a very expressive decade but gays were still ridiculed openly and often the recipients of a lot of hatred. Even liking boy George opened you to torture so for every album he sold theres probably 10 he didn't sell because fans were afraid to paint targets on themselves
he & his band were one of the best
I don't care what they say about boy George I love to hear him sing and he's a sweet person❤
Watch his interviews ❤👍👍👍
I agree with you, fuck what people say about Boy George! He's happy with life today and he's better, and that's what I love ❤

Boy George was often talked about concerning his style, appearance, flamboyance etc. What often gets lost is that he was a terrific singer.
His voice is absolutely amazing. How he presents himself is up to him

They could really sing!
Miss this kind of music. Most of Culture Club songs that Boy George wrote were about the drummer.
MnCalapati415 did they date.
Jake Miles Yes they did. The other band members knew about it but didn't really care. As long as they kept making good music.
Jake Miles It was pretty much hush hush to the public and media.
MnCalapati415 I just read up on it, thanks for bringing it to my attention
Jake Miles No worries. Alot of people dont know about Boy George and Jon (drummer) fling they had going.
I'm a straight white male, never doubted, I'm in my 70's this guy has class and talent.
This was real music and raw talent. Boy George was ahead of his time. Love the 80’s
It was and he really was! ❤
As a teen, I was really surprised that my mother who was born in 1960 and grew up in the conservative republic of Turkey, knew of Boy George and described him as “a very beautiful male singer with alluring eyes”.
Love From PUERTO RICO. ..Take care. .
Conservative republic of Turkey? There have always been conservative people in Turkey but the country as a whole wasn't. The music, the films, the TV shows... Most 70s & 80s youth were exposed to popular music around the world. It is usual, not a surprise that your mom likes him.
😂 my moms 1969 and still loves him. I grew up listening to this as a child.
Turkey is actually more liberal than the Balkans and other Eastern European countries.

Boy George & Culture Club were dope in the 80's
For me this song was difficult to absorb in the 80's, but 40 years on it's proved to be a very strong song that's a timeless classic
I've always loved Culture Cub and I don't care who doesn't like them ! I bet a lot of my macho friends really liked them but won't admit it !

Say what you will, Boy George had a lovely singing voice.
He sure did.
Of course he did!! That was never in question. We all just thought he was a little weird back when I was a kid. Now I know he was just gay.
I agree
Amazing song, he had a very good voice

I’ll never forget being a child here in San Antonio in 1983 and my friend Jennifer running over to our house and saying, hear this song. She put on the record, and it was, this…now such a legend. Where did the years go?! My gosh I can feel the moment! I’m 46 now! Boy George, Legend.

The 80's were the last decade that, as a kid, we could stay out until "the street light came on" (after dark), go inside our neighbors houses and eat their food , and feel safe enough to stay in bed if you fell asleep with only the screen door locked! With all those things seemingly against us, somehow, we managed to survive! We didn't have XBox or Wii, and we couldn't carry our cell phones without appearing like we were carrying a purse with wires hanging out of it!! Today, they would look at that thing as a bomb! Hell, I'd even go so far as to say we had more fun without all those things! If we played the very latest, modern video games, it was playing Frogger, Tank Commander, or Pac Man, but after 30 minutes to an hour, we'd get bored and run outside for some real fun! We were totally happy playing hide and seek or Cowboys and Indians, and we didn't have to call it Western Residents and Native Americans. We made complex tunnels deep in the snow banks (it seems we had so much more snow back then), used ropes to swing 5 or 6 kids at a time 20 to 40 feet in the air, and we lived when we all fell off in a tangled heap! We fed marshmallows to raccoons from the back door steps, and taught chipmunks to eat nuts out of our hands or while sitting on our shoulders, and we didn't get lice, or ticks, or rabies! Life was easier then, and a hell of a lot more fun than any kid has today. Why? Because we were safe. Kids could wander the neighborhood, ride our bikes along roadsides, and enjoy running through connected yards sometimes until 9 or 9:30 at night! We chased fireflies and put them in jars to watch them glow before letting them go. Everyone knew everyone! But I think the one thing that made it so much more fun and adventuresome was that we went OUTSIDE, and ya know...we preferred it that way!
Atari..
***** yup lol
it kinda sucks for me to be growing up in the '00s. yeah its cool to see technology transform lives and do miracles but its important to limit time with your phone and electronics. technology wasn't around tons and tons of years ago so I think u can survive without all this extra stuff like social media and things of that nature
***** omg ms packmannnnn!!
Jason Place As young kids, my sister and I would walk blocks to the playground and it wasn't fenced in. My friends and I played kick-the-can till midnight, the basketball nets weren't stolen or cut, I rarely heard of any street crime (some of us may have strategically egged a house and vanished), carjackings and smash & grabs. We are now living in the world of cyber attacks which will eventually lead to warfare. Let's face it, the world is becoming wickeder and wiser. It seems in the last 10 years it has accelerated. Life is subjective, grand and it's defined as how we live it. It's wonderful to have those cherished memories.
Wow, miss those days. Boy George was bold, forward, and loved. He transitioned the culture in different ways. Guest that's why they were the Culture Club.

My dad didn’t care for much of the music I listened to, but he actually liked Boy George’s voice immensely. He said, “I don’t much like how he dresses but he’s got a damn good voice!” How right my Old Man was!!!
Mine too. He was confused when he first saw Boy George on MTV. He loved country music so he really liked Karma Chameleon 😊
His voice is magical and he never had to rely on special effects to "help" it like so many others.
I fucking love how he dresses
Bet he could fetch a pretty penny for this particular ensemble if he wanted to bolster his retirement income. Hell, he could probably even start his own pajama / karategi fashion brand. I haven't googled the idea, so for all I know he already has...Oh, and the music was pretty cool too

I was high school when this came out. For some reason, this guy was not trashed or gaybashed. It was just the times, everything was new and we were right in the middle of it, we were righting the script as we went along, music evolved amazingly from 1979 to 1989. Then it got stagnent. And still is.
Because back in the day people focused on the music, if it was good, the people enjoyed it.
I totally agree with you...great decade...great music
I was there too and he absolutely was gaybashed at my high school. The times were not better to be gay, that's for sure.
Couldn't agree more. Well said.
Robert Dunkes I totally agree. I was in HS during this time also and there was so much innovative and interesting music being released then.
The drum beat is amazing.
Beautiful legendary songs
Nothing but admiration for Boy George. I am old enough to know what it was like living in 80s UK. He represented himself and all that he was in a time when not only being gay was unaccepted but being different from mainstream. He pioneered and took the abuse paving the way for people now in this day to not fear being who they are. I am straight but can fully appreciate hiw him being him in the 80s allowed me to be me. Basically he is not just a gay icon but a human icon, oh and his music was some of the best in what is the greatest era of music
And his voice was unrivaled.
Same. I'm just glad they played this stuff on Top of the Pops so we could at least get exposure. Other favs. of mine are Erasure and the Pet Shop Boys. Looking back I realize why I had so few friends, but I don't care.

I adore boy George & Culture club. He was ground breaking ( at least I thought) when I was a young girl. So many good songs~!
The 1980's was about music. There were so many different styles around then. Either you produced good music, or you didn't. Culture Club were one who produced some phenomenal music. We didn't care if they were gay, straight, bisexual or whatever. We just wanted good music and they delivered.
There is no telling how many times that I would play this song, rewind it, and play it over and over and fall asleep with it. This song pulled me up , it was my run to for anything that happened in my life from the day it came out ( I was 12) until I was probably 18 years old, most of Culture Club's music was my favorite, and it's still one of my all time favorites, and I'm 53 now. The 80's was one of the greatest times in the history of music. Especially because of the wave of artists that the English scene gave us, artists like Boy George himself and his band, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Queen, and many more. Without a doubt, the British wave has given us and continues to give excellent music.

You’re trying to say it was genuine back then - for the most part. Celebrities these days don’t get off-screen time and have to constantly preserve a plastic image. There is no longer organic This or That.
@@CarlosLopez-ob8rk Yep! Just like how authentic the original Degrassi High was....no professional makeup or hair, no models, no 20 year olds cast as high schoolers. What you saw is who they really were. The cast did their own hair, dressed in their own style etc. Much more relatable and authentic than the newer Degrassi High shows where things went exactly the way of models, fakery etc. 80s Degrassi was definitely more relatable than Saved By The Bell.
