Rass Kass is one of the most intelligent lyricists in hip hop.
+D Antoine if you enjoy ras kass look up k rino. dude is fire and also highly intelligent.
Heltah Skeltah!!! Nocturnal came out in 1996 R.I.P!
Rockness Monsta stomp ya brains in!!!
I could listen to Ras talk hip hop all day. Dude is so knowledgeable and articulate.
riding dirty ugk geto boys resurrection 96 was a great year
no doubt ..ras is so dope so underrated...he's got a true gift .. makes me proud to be from that generation can't wait for the album
yep. he has been my top3 of hiphop for 2 decades now .... people jus dont know.
the part about his name being spelled in the hoodie reminds me of back in 2006 when I was in the navy stationed in Jacksonville, FL and I wore a ras kass shirt to our daily physical training, it was a red tshirt with the letters RAS on the back and words Run Away Slave. People were lookin at me crazy, especially the black people lol, and I was told it was inappropriate and offensive and that I would have to change my shirt. I always thought it was pretty funny.
How about the fact that Ras Kass was talking about the Illuminati and NWO way back then and people are just getting on to that now
Thanks to KZhead, no one gave a fuck a few years ago..
DAPRODUCK For real tho
Ras. Goodie MOB, K-Rino, P.E., X-Clan, KRS-ONE was talking about it too, that's why these Catz will always be relevant.
Wu-tang was speaking on it too.
@@YakThaWiseman72 including Poor Righteous Teachers and Boogiemonsters!
96 may have had been THE most prolific albums to come out. What a lineup. 😣
Legendary MC! Hands Down!
Ras so Dope
Man the 90s in general was the best decade for rap hip hop but man 1996 it was on fire fresh original very different hip hop albums dropped at that time with awesome beats and crazy rhymes!!!
nature of the threat!!!!

Rad Kass said even when I'm maggots, I'm a still be fly

1996 stand up.
thank god for the substitude soundtrack ... thats where i found ras, a bit later than most i assume, but nevertheless he has been in my top3 for 2 decades now. ras put me on to strong arm steady and got me into evidence. he has always been down with Xz and royce ... he has done a lot for my music catalog. his music is so good.
Peace and Respect 2 Ras Kass
RAS KASS IS GOD EMCEE.
+ROTMONGER Thank you. Please help us spread the SOI2 campaign www.indiegogo.com/projects/ras-kass-soul-on-ice-2--2#/
Heather didn't mention her album even came out in 96.
Late to the party but this interview is Dope!
I remember when Ras had the Ghetto Fabulous joint on BET, and the first time I saw I went out and copped the tape soon after. H20proof still is one of my fave hip-hop tracks ever. Usually if I like an MC's current record I try to find their other work, but living in small town (Jackson, MI) back then made it really difficult to find albums that weren't as poppin as a pac or biggie. There was only a Record Town, Disc Jockey, and Warehouse records in the city and none of them had Soul on Ice in stock or knew wtf I was asking for. Luckily, one of the dudes at warehouse knew whats up and did some looking in their system and found the last one they had but it had to be shipped to the store. Shit got delayed so I had to wait forever to get it. Even better, when I finally got it the case was cracked and the bloom on the inside was shattered so the disc was just rattling around in the case for who knows how long. But it was not scratched, and yes, I still have my CD copy of Soul on Ice with the same broken case!!! Keep up the amazing work!!! Salute!!!
Ain't nothing like that shit
the best west coast lyricst... sorry snoop cube pac & Kendrick
The D.O.C?
Facts family
+D. MUSA D.O.C from Texas I thought but he close to Rass
+jspears19 Yeah I know he is, but I brought him up becuz he was associated with NWA and was in CALI. Just like Pac is from NY.
+Aaron Mason - Facts, no printer.
My knowledge is completely reversed from the people he talked about. I hardly know any albums from the last 10 yrs, maybe 15. And yo... Soul On Ice 2? WHAT! Can't wait
its out now and its fucking brilliant
Yessir
He meant "menace to society" not "boyz n da hood" at the 17:50 mark... when ppl say the wrong shit I notice in radio and on tv the host never corrects them lol
Yo I can only take Ras Kass a couple of minutes at a time because he blows my dam mind to microscopic pieces every dam time.
Saw ras and the liks, in San Luis Obispo, ca the power shut out but they still ripped, ras standing on the tall ass speaker
hard to learn new things from these new rappers. ras kass gave you real education. everyone wanna talk about conspiracy. and re writing history. and illuminati NOW but him and canibus song channel zero is what opened up my mind all the way to that stuff. i know prodigy and AZ had reference to it. but kass went in depth and i downloaded it right when i got cable modem. just researched everything he said
exactly
+Mr. J1S if you enjoy ras kass look up k rino. dude is fire and also highly intelligent.
+Mr. J1S Soul on Ice dropped at tough time to compete. When you got 2pac and Westside Connection dominating the airwaves, dudes hoppin in low lows weren't tryin to hear a west coast emcee with EAST coast lyrics and beats. Talking about the illuminati and the grimaldi man haha I admit i dont care for super lyrical hip hop as I'm more into gamespittas like E-40 and Dru Down, Soul on Ice is an album I fux with. Soul on Ice and Xzibit's debut BOTH slept on classics of 96.
+AQUAPHREESH193 as lyrical as he is i get why he doesnt pop off. doesnt pick great beats. doesnt have great hooks. and his flow is not gonna be enjoyable to most ppl. trying to fit 20 words into 1 bar doesnt usually make for a good "song" unless its a catchy flow
Mr. J1S PREACH!!! You just addressed something that a lot of lyrical purists dont want to hear!! Im not saying Ras is guilty of this but yeah I couldn't give a shit about some artist that can rhyme a billion dictionary words and spit all kinds of crazy alliterations and hyperboles. If there is no emotion and soul then FUCK THAT! Thats why so many artist that are "lyrical" can't make a quality song for shit!
one of the good men of hip hop
That hoodie definitely should’ve had ATLiens on it they had the room. Ik there was wayyyy more but that and a couple of the other super classic ones would’ve helped illustrate the point even better
Oh okay the acronym makes sense that’s fair
How In the hell is he going to outdo Nature Of The Threat O_o
Realnigga Turner he did IP
lol well he probably won't out do it but he can definitely add to it
He actually don't need to try and outdo that track
check out his joint called "white power" on his new album , soul on ice 2
shot out to Sway for checking blood for choplin up Hammer. I fuck w u Ras watch yo mouth though
He meant menace II society not boyz n da hood lmao
+Charmy “Charmable” Charmz lol funny how that was the genesis of self snitching haha but Chauncey leaked that shit hahah
Gahdamn...this interview too short!
Y'all forgetting about Oh No, Medaphor and Planet Asia
That was Menace 2 Society Kass
My song was Miami life
Ras always been dope. I think his beef with The Game really dulled his shine for awhile.
Ras kass, serious in the game like cocaine.
you'll never find/ blum blum blum blum a hairline like mine ...
lol
what do you call a row of rabbits walking backwards??
+sonjevity idk what?
Shn Paige a receding hare line... one of Ras Kass' lyrics lol
Soul on Ice 1>>>IPS
The toothpick is back!!!
Haha
It was Menace to Society not Boyz in the hood..
Jeezy def lyrical
His first 2 albums were dope and Lyrical ....after that he kinda dumbed down ..... Thug Motivation 101 & The Inspiration ..... 2 great albums
Jeezy is definitely not lyrical. Good music yes lyrical def not
Future???
no sound? no freestyles?
Lol Menace to Society Ras no Boyz -N- the Hood.
Drake???
Who is this woman?.... No shades to these rappers. I listen to them but you comparing them to Ras???
Future got some dope lines tho
he put those garbage ass albums as the class of 96?is he nuts...96 was the best year hip hop has ever had : soul on ice - ras kass here to save you all - chino xl once upon a time in america - smoothe da hustler funcrusher - company flow realms n reality - cella dwellas dr octagonecologyst - kool keith (just to name a few)...and he gives props to garbage like jay-z,tupac and tribe???smh....
why the long infinite crooked hairline rass?? join the club and let it go or sit straight next time brody.
well over years he probably got fucked up haircuts .... I don't get fades that make my shit disappear over years but sadly Ras is a big fan of fades....
LOL
Waves is spinnin...and so is his hairline!
His hairline is confusing....and the game is not for the complicated.....the fans love music in its simplest form.....
what do you call a row of rabbits walking backwards??
sonjevity a receding hare line....
donttripp ha ha!
+donttripp he's like 40, give him a break hahaha
Better than Hitman Holla's hairline lol
