I love how down to earth, and proud of who he is. So many asian people for some reason are afraid or try to hide any semblance of their culture and stuff they grew up with. Well to be fair he's not really a celebrity per say. He had a couple roles but he was always more of a stuntperson. Shang Chi is definitely his breakout role and hopefully one that will lead him to a long and successful career cuz he deserves it!!! :)

As someone who's the same age as him, and also Chinese (though there's millions of us out there), it felt like watching a schoolmate talking about the things we grew up with. BBT, snacks, xbox, nba etc. This was really nice to watch :) and wishing him the best in the MCU!

Bro I feel like I still get shat on for liking those same snacks - yes I like shrimp crackers and shredded squid. That's what I grew up with and I feel like I can never eat that stuff around others. If it wasn't for my friends in 3rd grade; I would have never been introduced to the wonderful world of eastern snacks. I put my fam & other friends on asian snacks there on after. As soon as I met my in-laws, they were wondering how I knew game & about all the snacks. Like "I got introduced at a early age" 😊😎

my Asian girlfriend introduced me to those snacks, mainly shrimp chips and the shredded squid and she was embarrassed to do so but was shocked when I absolutely loved them. She told me how people used to make fun of her too for her funny smelling snacks. People really need to open their eyes to Asian culture.
weird, I live in New York City and back in middle school everyone would flock to the asian kids because they brought in the best snacks for lunch (ppushu ppushu, orion chips, choco boy, hello panda). i'm glad that us asians are finally getting the superhero representation that we need. I loved that the backstories were well-developed (ESP wenwu) && that there was a cultural depth to this movie that was not difficult to comprehend, yet allowing us to appreciate chinese culture. simu was phenomenal and this role was really suited for him!!! i love this man istg && i can't wait to see what is in store for him and meng'er in the future xx
