Thanks for this in depth video on my country, we shall get there in time. Love from Uganda 🇺🇬
Big love for my Uganda brothers to develop the country ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. I'm from Senegal
What I love about your channel, is that you’re not just knowledgeable, but you also truly travel! It’s nice to learn about the aircraft, airports, and airlines that maybe aren’t as popular but definitely worth experiencing. Thank you!
Thanks man! I’m glad to hear that!
Brilliant review. Love all the information that you provide. One of the few who do that. Happy travels, Patrick! :)
Thanks man! I appreciate it
Thanks for the info + video!
I love your description of the interior of these airplanes you travel on great job 👌
Thank you! I appreciate it
He narated well about Uganda Airlines, i believe he must have enjoyed the emerging African airline
Thanks Patrick for a great vlog as always.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Good, well researched en well informed video. Thank you for being honest about my country.
Per usual, a great video with a unique airline that we just don’t hear much about. Thanks Patrick!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
The King of Rare Airlines/Flights! Really appreciate how you're always putting unsung carriers and routes on the map :) The chicken meal certainly didn't disappoint.
Ha! Yes! Thanks man!
I love the soft purr of engines. May UR maintain the good points and improve on the weak points
nice to see us shinning
East Africa at last! Been waiting for this 🔥💖
Yea man! I love my East Africa adventures (including that Kenya Airways and Rwandair video from the last few months 👀)
@@PatrickSheaAviation yea I watched them and many if not most of your veds I like how comprehensive you are in your vedios
Another great video Pat showcasing flying on the crane. Thanks Emanuel 😂
Thanks fr the review of our national career😁😍
Really loving these more obscure airlines and locations outside the usual travel vlogger spots, living vicariously through you! Thank you! Would be cool if you got into the history sometimes too since Entebbe has a lot of it (not good history)...
Thanks! That Entebbe history goes deep for sure. Maybe in a future video
Hello Patrick another excellent vid
Thank you!
I love the video because you give an honest review, it's not that you hate it or you love it, you are giving a review with some tidbits of what you like and don't like. I really like that about a reviewer. Looking forward to watching another of your videos in the future.
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
very interesting flight i enjoyed it only a little bit confussing bit you got there greetings from the netherlands
Nice trip report, i liked it a lot, i just hope they can improve their service or at least keep it like that, congratulations, Uganda Airlines.
Thanks! Hopefully they’re able to get some medium haul jets to fly their London, Lagos, Mumbai, and Dubai flights. That should free up the A330 for better profit getting
As always, amazing video, mate. I'm still waiting for the Qantas review. Let us know via community post whenever ur in Australia.
Totally! I’m waiting on that one too. Dang is it expensive
@PatrickSheaAviation can't wait. It really depends on when ur flying with them like last year. I flew with my family of four from syd-blr and back, and it costed $8,500, so it was a pretty good deal, but I had very different experiences on both flights. One of the flights was one if the best flights of my life, the other one one of the worst. So yh
*Such a beautiful cabin. I like the colours.*
Exceptional as always Patrick - I've always wondered why the -800 variant really never caught on.
I’m guessing that since the -900 has a good *enough* range, they choose it since it’s got better cost per seat ratio
great report,super details
Thanks!
Off to Uganda on another adventure with Vanoss and Lui!
I Like The Livery.Great Video And Info
Thanksb
Muy buen video, una crónica muy buen balanceada y con buen sentido crítico. Gracias 🙏 una vez más, muchos exitos con tus planes te deseo.😊
Gracias por todo!
“ The last helicopter out of Vietnam” bro killed me😂😂
Very informative and interesting.
Thanks!
Very well presented review of UR. You should do one for Air Tanzania's Dar- Ghuangzou as well
Got that one booked! Super excited for it
@@PatrickSheaAviation Awesome! Looking forward to it
Entebbe airport has got some dark history there
And it's a testament to the superiority of Israeli military tactics.
What happened
@@alvaroga1n google Operation Thunderbolt
@@alvaroga1nThe An Air France flight from Tel Aviv to Paris was hijacked and flown to Entebbe. The dictator Idi Amin threatened to kill all the hostages. The IDF flew a rescue mission to Entebbe gliding a C-130 onto the airport which was not lit at night. IDF commandos raided the airport terminal and rescued all the hostages except one who was hospitalized. In his outrage Idi went to the hospital and murdered the Israeli patient. I may have some facts wrong. There is a movie on the incident “Raid on Entebbe”. As someone else said-IDF is the world’s finest military.
just read up on it and man its really really dark.
Love your content! It's always top-notch. However, I'd suggest considering a change in background music-it's a bit distracting. Keep up the great work though!❤
Beautiful bird from uganda❤
I wish I get to walk on terminals like this, I experienced this only once in Annaba a year ago, thank you for the review as usual ❤
Thanks man! Safe travels!
Welcome 😊
Great report as always 👏🏽 While we (Nigeria) may not have a national carrier, Air Peace is really doing well as a flag carrier. They will be launching London Gatwick by 30MAR24, I hope you get to try them out sometime.
Ah, I actually commented this before the end of the video… Now eagerly anticipating the Air Peace story
well done
Good to see more African content
Another review I fancied a lot Patrick, particularly the seats, they look very clean, and yet as you mentioned, they are pretty much the same as the previous airlines you flew, but quite lovely. Pity about the lounge!...and the food also seemed quite nice. What was in between the cheeses is a gelatin-based with little pieces of meat and/or fish, "Aspic" is perhaps the name if I remember correctly. A typical French amuse-bouche.
Good to know about that aspic! Thanks man!
cheers Patrick@@PatrickSheaAviation
Yeesh, even for the huge savings I wouldn’t put myself through that 😅. Good on ya for TOFTT 🎉😂
A unique airline. Quite clever to serve Lagos as that’s a popular high revenue route from London so will pick up some connecting traffic. Your comment on the shower made me laugh..
Proud 🇺🇬 🇺🇬 🇺🇬
Can you do a flight to Khasab (from Muscat in Oman), the landing is fantastic, like somewhere in the Himalayas. Or the unknown airport in the UAE, Ras Al Khaimah, it would be a first for KZhead.
Uganda airlines...feels like the best airlines in Africa
the random boarding 'script' (go go go - last helicopter out of vietnam!) #hilarious even tho unsurprising i'd still be peeved (read: raging like Mordor inside) so er Emmanuel with his sweater (was it cool outside??) practically having the cabin to yourself must make filming more chilled. that IFE screen was uber reflective - i don't think i've ever noticed you film that way lol so inquiring minds need to know: how did the "whatever that is in the middle" cheese(?) taste - ah, the 'aggressively basic' loo followed by the screaming, existential angst of that service bin - a properly branded #PatrickFliesPlanes video moment. such a wonderful way to wrap up an episode with added info on the airline (and the narration is getting slicker with a news anchor vibe to it #props) ... the deplaning and after #yikes
Ha thanks man. That random cheese thing wasn’t bad. Like a fruity, sweet item. Another fun one in the books
Great video, Patrick. 10/10 for the balanced critique. When I have a choice, I avoid flying out of Entebbe between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. That is the peak period and coincidentally, that is when systems like the air-con and baggage carousel fail. The immigration processing system slows down as well. It can be miserable!
That’s good to know for next time! Thanks man!
@@PatrickSheaAviation I have flown Egypt Air and Turkish out of Entebbe at 4am. There is very little happening at the airport at that time. However, a content creator like yourself might find that boring.
When you are able, could you look into Luxair (Luxembourg's airline)? They have some pretty interesting planes in their fleet.
I’ve been looking at Luxair ever since a friend flew them and gave me some great notes about them!
@@PatrickSheaAviation Awesome! I have yet to have the opportunity to fly Luxair (Delta and BA are my frequently flown airlines), however, I'm interested to hear what others have to say.
A bit if a minimalist design for a business class.
Patrick, your dessert was technically "Profiteroles". ;-) Nice video. 9.675
Thanks man!
Loving the soap as a ‘personal touch’. No expense spared hey Pat? 😅😂
Ha of course!
Always interesting . I don't see Europe anytime soon for any African airline except Kenya Air and Ethiopian . Air Peace ? Oh no ! Can't wait for that !
That Air Peace flight should be a bit interesting…. 🤨
Hey Patrick, any plans of doing Hawaiian Airlines inaugural flight for their first 787 to SFO ?
Hell yea man! I’ll be there!
nice
We gotta help vanoss and lui find THE WAY
welcome to Nigeria, I hope you will try some of my countries airlines
I hope to! Air Peace has screwed me over a couple times before but I hope to be able to try them out eventually!
are we getting a Sri Lankan vid? As a Sri Lankan fan i got excited when you said you printed the visa lol
Maybe this Sunday will bring good news 👀😉
@@PatrickSheaAviation haha awesone! Ironoic because im flying this sunday to SL from SFO via SIN on a UA 787. I'll tune in during the layover!
The A330-800 looks good. I had hoped a couple of these might have found their way to Aer Lingus rather than A 321's for thinner Transatlantic routes. I so prefer a wider body ride across the Atlantic.
I do like the widebody, but unfortunately the highest cost per seat has essentially rendered this plane useless unless an airline *really* needs a longer range
@@PatrickSheaAviation dude, we just started flying to Mumbai and I believe we'll soon start flying to Guangzhou. It's all falling in place. Uganda Airlines reduced its losses by over 70% in the past year.
That cabin looks beautiful I’m surprised
“Hello Emmanuel”!!
A timely visit considering the current situation in the middle east. I refer to the Air France hijacking in 1976 when we were all on the edge of our seats. Operation Entebbe, also known as Operation Jonathan, was an Israeli hostage rescue mission. It took place in July 1976 in Entebbe, Uganda. An Air France airplane was hijacked on 27 June 1976 by German and Palestinian terrorists wanted the release of prisoners held in Israel and four other countries.
Definitely an interesting history involving Ugandan aviation, but all seamless for my travel at least!
@PatrickSheaAviation PLEASE FLY TENERIFE TO CARACAS FLIGHT!!!
I’m trying 😩😩. That Venezuela visa is a pain and a half
I flew there with Ethiopian airlines
WOW COOL FLIGHT!!! Uganda --> exotic. I'm surprised at the quality of the product / service. Travel for Africans in Africa is very difficult because of the difficulty of obtaining travel visas. Maybe this is past of the reason African airlines offer fewer routes? "Karibuni Lounge"
As a pilot, how would you rate their safety? Anything maintenance-wise that jumped at you?
Not from what I could see. Although *walking* across the ramp always has risks. Nothing glaring though
Uganda airlines, Airbus A330-800neo's business class looks nice, the in flight entertainment big TV is touchscreen, which is good, good amenity kit with toothbrush and toothpaste, which is good and hand out in 1st and business class on a medium and long haul flight which is good, your chicken meal is good and delicious and you have a good privacy to sleep on a lie flat bed and. I will give it a 2 or 3 star airline for Uganda. I wish Uganda airlines, Airbus A330-800neo have air vent to be comfortable for you to sleep with a blanket, external camera and window inside the lavatory.
Interesting What is the name of the song of the minutes 0:00-1:58?
??
do they know the way?
Check the background audio
do ex-prez of srilanka have shares in uganda airline?
No
I don't like the gaps am seeing on the panel around the engine area.
maa sha'Allah 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Rare bird. Nice to get that one under your belt.
Totally! The rare -800 added to the list!
World famous airport.
Wonder whether you got to play any Metallica song during the flight.
Kuwait air ways olso have that aircraft
Is this the flight that you re-watched Oppenheimer in? 😂😅
Ha! Nah, it was on emirates earlier this trip
@@PatrickSheaAviation oh I remember now on the a380 on that Instagram story
I love how vanoss fans are also here lol
idi amin is missed
Garuda never took delivery of their 800s
🇳🇬
Hello Emmanuel. Thanks Emmanuel. Africans aren't afraid of nakedness. Especially the older generation. They will gladly use that shower with their potbellies and pipis in full view. Proud of Uganda Airlines beautiful A330 neo. Would have loved to see economy class. Too much business class with airline reviewers. Thanks for the review. Did you say Air Peace??? 😮😮😮. You're very brave.
Air Peace ended up as a disaster with me flying Ethiopian instead on a last minute ticket lol… maybe sometime in the future though 🤷♂️
@@PatrickSheaAviation I suppose thays your guardian angels saving you at the last minute. From what we've heard, that is one very dangerous airline.
commenting to be first. will watch later. lol
Comment thief 😅
Ha! Love it
Ah shit here we go again.
Initially I heard about this airline not long after it started operations. Search KZhead there's a clip showing a grasshopper vendor trading his wares onboard this A330 on the ground at Entebbe. Somehow the vendor had bypassed airport security (he was not a traveller) and this incident was widely publicised in Uganda and beyond. (Grasshoppers are considered a delicacy in Uganda)
Dang… that’s a interesting one
Correction: The vendor was actually a traveller!
@@lizkanyunyuzi9475 Oh thanks for clarifying. The vendor was dressed like a vendor you would see plying in the street hence my error.
Last helicopter out of Vietnam😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One knows its bad when one would rather shower in Nigeria over Uganda
I hate everything about that airport, except the planes.
Who else came here from channel Vanoss?
You used Arabic subtitles?! 😮😅
Don't you have anything nice to say about them?😮
I had a lot of nice things to say about them… in the video 🤨🤨🤨
I suspect Uganda Airlines may have bitten off a bit more than it can chew with the 338's and the grandiose expansion plans. I don't think the widebodies will last long - my crystal ball tells me that they'll default on the payments and lose the planes.
Idk about them defaulting necessarily. If they can get some good medium haul airplanes, then these routes become more affordable and they may be able to actually use the A330 on routes their meant for, like Asia and North America
@@PatrickSheaAviation Do they have any on order? If not, then the 737 MAX or A320/321NEO would be ideal for EBB-NBO, DAR, DXB, DOH, BOM, DEL, LOS, CAI and IST, assuming (doubtfully) that the airline can afford to take on more aircraft. As for the 338's, expanding to the UK and Germany and also flying them to JNB and CPT (the airline could be a cheaper alternative for Europe-South Africa than European or Gulf carriers) would make more sense than flying to China or SE Asia. But then again they'd be competing directly with Rwandair, and Rwanda's economy is in much better shape than Uganda's.
@@janellek21 not officially, but they just recently met with Airbus and Boeing about it
As a Ugandan, thanks for the video but you are biased
Thanks, but not sure where you think the bias is. Happy for you to let me know what you think though
@@PatrickSheaAviation which airlines are you comparing to?, your national airline?, or your dream airlines?, what is your benchmark and I hope its not a 1st world county airlines that you are comparing to a 3rd world country airlines
To us Ugandans that's a mile stone and we shall get there, just give it time
Livery ugly?. Boy you love crocodile livery
Such a shame I won’t be visiting Uganda due to its anti LGBT legislation.
19:09 thats kinda racist mate
Uganda Airlines is heading for bankruptcy. Their business model is unsustainable. Next time you book your ticket with them remember you can lose all you money.
Interesting take. I guess we will see soon 🤷♂️
Are you american???
Yee
Uganda Airlines won't become profitable just like its previous incarnation. There's too much political corruption. The appointment of an unqualified CEO is just the most glaring example.
True. I can relate
Do you have evidence that CEO is unqualified, how do you judge qualifications
@@davioswagaofficial5598 If she is qualified then why did she fail to produce the academic documents when they asked for them.
Baganda names are becoming a disgrace to Uganda. I doubt whether Uganda will have any muganda president. The hate for this lovely country is too much by people from only one tribe
19:06. racist!
Yep, the casual racism is astounding
Notice when they landed, they did not use the land bridge in Nigeria either. What a cheap airline, NO thanks!
Well it looked like they tried to but the jetbridge wasn’t moving so we had to revert to plan B. I’m pinning that one on Lagos’ airport, not Uganda Airlines
@@PatrickSheaAviation But they refused to use the one's at their home airport: they are too cheap to pay for it, that's clearly the reason!
@@bodyloverz30is that a fact or your assumption?🤔
@@lizkanyunyuzi9475 More likely fact.
