  • Love the chairs, an eclectic look is much more interesting than staying strictly with period furniture. Good design always works.

    • I love Love LOVE THOSE chairs!!! May I suggest a glass table possibly with either black or gold supports. Also I think either a neoclassical Napoleonesque chandelier in black with gold accents would be lovely. I would like to see a black crystal chandelier in there…just thinking. I love whatever you all select. It always looks current as well as in keeping with the style of the chateau

  • I think, mixing the periods and picking what appeals both of you is extremely important. That’s what makes your house a home, and the love and care that you put into it. What everybody else thinks doesn’t matter at the end of the day. You’re the ones that have to live with it. I think the color on the walls is beautiful! If it makes you happy, and appeals to you both. Thank you Anna, Philip . I quite enjoyed seeing you shop.

  • After having binge watched all your videos for a week or so, I felt a bit depressed when there were none anymore to watch. ;) The interaction between both of you, the humour of Philipp, the beauty of the place, the perfect taste of Anna and her sweet heart, your beautiful girls, good boy Ziggy, sassy and loving Benoît and Nathan, every person who came to help... What to say except that I am so happy for you ! Each time I watch one of your videos I feel so grateful to Life and so lucky you guys share with us this great experience of life you have and you build. I love it because you show that life can be good and sweet even with hard work to do and it is, in my opinion, something that needs to be shown more. All that to say, your chairs are very elegant! :)

  • My opinion is that the room color is Magnificent! Very rich, saturated. The pieces you are curating are beautiful for that space. Still thinking that the secret pass-through would make an elegant bar, outfitted with glass shelves, the inside door lined with a mirror & still operable from hallway for easy restock from kitchen.

  • To me, the red color of the dining room looks exactly like the red gilders clay used before gold leafing. So even though it is a unique color, it still oddly enough has a classic feel to it. Also, it could be very beautiful to pair that color with slightly Asian inspired decor! Nothing too on the nose, but it could compliment the color quite beautifully. Love your auction finds! • I love the way dogs are welcomed in so many places in France. (Ziggy at the cafe with you.) You do not see that in Canada - dogs in restaurants. I remember once when I was in Paris and eating at a very nice place near the Eiffel Tower. A lady was dinning at a table near me with her dog on her lap. No one thought anything of it. I asked the waiter what he would do if someone was allergic to dogs or had asthma? He did not hesitate “No problem, Madame, we would send them home in a taxi”!! I laughed so hard!! Great finds today! • Anyone can do a typical chateau style. You two have more of what is known as (where I live at least) "modern traditional." Not everyone can wrap their heads around that. I've also noticed that depending on the light, the paint looks like four different colors. Add to that the difference in monitor settings and who knows what some people are actually seeing. I also love the set of black chairs you found. They are very beautiful.

• I think the orange walls are workable, but I hope you will consider painting the baseboards something other than white. Perhaps an orange to match the walls, or a brown to match the floor.

  • If you paint the trim a different color to break it up some. By itself it’s to much and un excited.
