So cool, first time I saw classical ballet live I was amazed how loud some of their landings were. Suddenly the fact these incredibly graceful supernatural people are Real People who are landing hard on the floor came home to me. Could have taken you out of it, but actually brought home how insane the actual skill is, made it real :) like this!

I feel like hers was super underrated. She seemed so angry at the world for letting her go through that, stomping at the ground as if it would give the answers to all of her questions if she tried hard enough, the frustration of whoever hurt her getting away with it, the clawing and tearing at the ground and the shouts and screams that rung through the air with her performance really resonated with me. And of course, we can’t forget her finding solace in her friend being right there the entire time, ready to welcome her with open arms. It makes me really want to pick up dancing again; not just to look good or anything like that, just to express how I feel for once. Sure, I can draw, but that only releases so much tension. The amount of tension that has built up in me needs some sort of release like this.

7:24 when their dancing together in that moment, feels like they’ve summed up the meaning behind the interest of billies song. it’s as if their dancing, blinding you with the force of their own destruction and ruination complex. while wanting to leave, you find yourself not being able to escape a mind numbing toll of darkness cause it’s the only thing you know how to do which is being used. it’s kind of a beautiful tragedy yet so cataclysmic. it’s lovely how heartbreak intertwines with the rhythm of emotions carried out by the words in which they expressed through dancing. anyway sorry this is like one of my favorite dances by far n sorry for going in a bit to deep :)

Man this piece really hit me. This was crazy expressive and raw. I think the couples version was really something...the roles were performed so well--helpless, vulnerable girl; manipulative, deceiving guy. The second couple was outstanding. They were incredibly in-sync, with such good chemistry. The emotions really translated through the screen and into me. I don't know how else to describe it other than I was left in a puddle of tears. So cool, first time I saw classical ballet live I was amazed how loud some of their landings were. Suddenly the fact these incredibly graceful supernatural people are Real People who are landing hard on the floor came home to me. Could have taken you out of it, but actually brought home how insane the actual skill is, made it real :) like this!

The second girl literally put her whole heart into that performance, the story of abuse and being so scared at the end and finding comfort in her friend to hold and protect her.

I feel like hers was super underrated. She seemed so angry at the world for letting her go through that, stomping at the ground as if it would give the answers to all of her questions if she tried hard enough, the frustration of whoever hurt her getting away with it, the clawing and tearing at the ground and the shouts and screams that rung through the air with her performance really resonated with me. And of course, we can’t forget her finding solace in her friend being right there the entire time, ready to welcome her with open arms. It makes me really want to pick up dancing again; not just to look good or anything like that, just to express how I feel for once. Sure, I can draw, but that only releases so much tension. The amount of tension that has built up in me needs some sort of release like this.

For dancers to be able to pull that kind of emotion out of people is so fucking special. Even though I'm in tears kind of reliving that entire mind fuck/shit show of a relationship (relation-shit), I'm so happy I just watched that. It was literal therapy for me. Thank you.
What I love about Jojo is she doesn’t just choreograph dances, she choreographs stories
7:24 when their dancing together in that moment, feels like they’ve summed up the meaning behind the interest of billies song. it’s as if their dancing, blinding you with the force of their own destruction and ruination complex. while wanting to leave, you find yourself not being able to escape a mind numbing toll of darkness cause it’s the only thing you know how to do which is being used. it’s kind of a beautiful tragedy yet so cataclysmic. it’s lovely how heartbreak intertwines with the rhythm of emotions carried out by the words in which they expressed through dancing. anyway sorry this is like one of my favorite dances by far n sorry for going in a bit to deep :)
What I love the most about these videos with JoJo’s choreographies is the intensity with which she supports people while their dancing, how she seems so fucking proud of the way other dancers interpret and take on the moves she idealized. For me, that’s the most beautiful thing.

it honestly feels like each one of the dancers are trying to convey their feelings that couldn't be seen through this dance. all of their facial expressions were absolutely heart breaking. this choreography is so well made and so beautiful.

I have watched the dancers at 5:19 now about 4 times and im resisting watching it again now. The way the emotions were conveyed through their dance was absolutely captivating. It felt so visceral and real, and I loved every bit of it. All the dancers did great, but the 2 dancers at 5:19 definitely spoke to me on so many different levels. I hope to see more of them!

I came here just to comment about the two at 5:19!!!! Holy sh*t!!! I saw them on tiktok and I CANNOT stop watching the full version. Their facial expressions, the way he pushed her head into the floor, the waltz and goofing around/smiling like they’re back in love, the look that the guy gave the camera after she was trying to escape it. ALL OF IT !!!! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!! I am so happy I came across it. it is my favorite dance video I’ve watched to date.

The pair at 5:19 did amazing. They were able to portray a toxic/abusive relationship so well. The freestyle portion was chefs kisses as well. I always sort of thought that they gave off Harley Quinn and Joker vibes with this piece, especially when they got up and started ballroom dancing. Man this piece really hit me. This was crazy expressive and raw. I think the couples version was really something...the roles were performed so well--helpless, vulnerable girl; manipulative, deceiving guy. The second couple was outstanding. They were incredibly in-sync, with such good chemistry. The emotions really translated through the screen and into me. I don't know how else to describe it other than I was left in a puddle of tears.
