DIY Paper Wall Art with Origami Pyramid Pixels - Easy Tutorial and Decorating Ideas
Easily make your own stunning 3D DIY Wall Art with this easy to make and fun to play with origami pyramid pixels. No cuts, no glue and no tape! Each triangular 3D pyramid is folded from 1 square of paper, and they are joined by folding on the back!
Those new pyramid pixels are a very easy and fun way to create striking paper wall art. It takes only 30 seconds to make each triangular origami diamond (they do look a lot like precious stones if you use shiny paper!), and once you have made several of them, you can play with them to create triangles, diamonds, hexagons, stars and other geometric shapes. It's like Legos! Once you have decided on the shape, you can join the pyramids together by folding flaps on their back. You can then hang your paper wall art on a wall and use it to decorate the rooms in your house.
You may have seen other DIY tutorials to create similar wall art, but they all require cutting, glueing and much more work. Those 3D paper pyramids are different, they are a new original pure origami model, created by Stéphane Gigandet.
These origami pyramid pixels are compatible with the flat square origami pixels and triangle origami trixels, so you can mix and match them and be very creative! Next week I will also show how to make 3D tricorne pixels, so make sure to subscribe!

Tutorial for the triangular paper trixels: • Origami Wind Rose Star...
Before making the 3D pyramids, I recommend that you try the square pixels first as they are very similar, but they are easier to join as you can join them by folding on a table. Since the pyramids are in 3 dimensions, you need to join them by folding in the air, which require a bit more practice.
We are creating a collective origami mosaic with the paper pixels, would you like to participate? The details are on origamipixels.com/participate... Join us to create a great collaborative artwork!
In the video, I use 15x15 cm (about 6 inches) origami paper (kami) to demonstrate how to fold and join the pyramids.
The wall decor shining star is made with smaller 7.5 cm squares.
And the big triangular wall decoration that is hanging in my book case is made from color copy paper (8 cm squares).
Important note: those origami pyramids are an original origami model designed by Stéphane Gigandet and protected by copyright law. Do not publish videos, diagrams, instructions, photos etc. that show how to make wall art with those pyramids, and instead link to this video or embed it. Thank you.
I hope you like those paper pyramids! Please leave a comment under the video to tell me what you think of them and what kind of wall art you plan to create with them!
Please send me pictures of the wall art you create with those origami pyramids! My email is stephane@origamipixels.com
I will add your pictures to the origamipixels.com web site and show them in future videos.
Thank you very much, happy folding, and have fun playing with the origami pyramids!
Hi Everyone! What do you think of those new pyramid pixels? They are a lot of fun to play with, and can be used to make great wall art / murals! What would you like to use them for? Please send me pics of your wall art to stephane@origamipixels.com so that I can show them in future videos and add them to origamipixels.com Thank you!
So I made a shape out of these and when I was connecting them, I found that not using tape to secure the connected pixels was nearly impossible. The pixels kept on falling apart so I advise everyone that sees this and decides to make something to use a little bit of tape on every connection to make sure the whole thing doesn’t fall apart. You’re very welcome, I learned this the hard way :(
Lol. It be like that sometimes.
Wonderful illustration that people can follow and is understandable ..no confusions made...was able do everything accordingly. ..Thankyou well done 👍👍👍
Felicidades Campeón!!! Excelente y práctica forma de enseñar!!! Mil bendiciones!!! :)
+César Hernández Romero Muchas gracias César!
best origami ever! easy and cool, no glue/tape
I love this, just made my first 2 pyramids, using 6.5 cm squares, now that i know how to make them i have to decide what to make, ty very much for sharing
Cool! I'm curious to see what you will make with them. :-)
This is awesome. The pattern choices are could get so much more interesting the more you use.
This is really easy!! Im using them to decorate my desk.
just found this, it was very calming and could even be used for ASMR
You ok?
Excelente trabajo y explicación 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You made it so easy.. love it.👏
love this! so excited to create something wall worthy 😉 I also love the piece that you show around 8 mins 40 secs! are those pyramids connected like the ones in this video or is there a different method/tutorial? thank you!
Thank you Alisa! The pyramids are connected in the same way. There's another tutorial for the tricornes that you can mix and match with the pyramids: kzhead.info/sun/ns6Kl95vjoBoeZE/bejne.html
I love this video and all your work, great inspiration. I did a piece for my wall in the living room, it looks great, I'll send some pictures soon!
Hi Danijela! Wonderful, thank you very much! I'll show the pictures in my next video. :)
Danijela Bilic can I see those pictures need some inspiration pls thnx
The lock being folded back into the pyramid will be stronger than on 2D pixels, well done again !!
Thank you! The lock is surprisingly strong indeed, especially with thin paper like kami origami paper. With copy paper it's a bit less strong (or maybe it's just that the whole thing is heavier when hanged on a wall).
hey i done 2 hexagon and i tape it to my wall 😊 it turned out to be great
Excellent tutorial. Thank you, you are a lovely guy and your accent is adorable. What is the size of the square you are using?.
You can use any size
@Sigal Meir it’s 6x6 inch
Best paper Craft
Thanks!
this is is the type of videos i dig ;) Maybe cos i make them...
I learnt how to make it but yours looks much better
Brilliant!!I just loved it .The explanation was good and you have a clear voice.easy to understand!
Thank you very much! If you try it and make some origami pyramids, could you email me some pictures so that I can show them in future videos? Thanks!
Yes.I have made one.Sending a pic is not a big deal.I will surely send you .bye
@@OrigamiPlusTutorials can I? hehe. I just tried to make some for my project
Merci for sharing this! And I love your accent (in a good way) because you remind me of my French friend back in university :) Ok I'll go and make some pyramids now :)
Thank you so much! :-) If you can, please send me a pictures of what you do with the pyramids so that I can show it in a next video.
THANK U SO MUCH, U MAKE MY BEDROOM WALL BRIGHTER
Thanks a lot for the wonderful idea and well presented video
Good job 🙂🇱🇰
You are mind blowing. Love your videos soooo much!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍. Keep up the good work. Please post the video on how to make the star using the pyramid pixels as soon as possible. I have been waiting and can't wait!!! My support and best wishes to you from New Zealand!!!
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like the pyramid pixels. :)
this is useful and very beautiful thank you so much
Thank you!!
Great work !😄
Cool 👏👏👏👏👏
thank you so much for teaching us to make this! I really appreciate it! Thanks! May God bless you!
You're very welcome, thank you!
Great tutorial 🎉
thats exactly what i was looking for 😍
Wonderful, I would love to see what you make with the pyramids!
I was wondering, if I want to fill a quadrilateral space with the pixels, is there a way to make pyramid shapes to fill the resulting empty spaces next to the sides? Thanks for your work!!!!
this some math class stuff
looks great Stephane Gigandet @Origami Plus I will give it a go very soon - Greeting from Ireland
Thank you very much Michaela, I'm very much looking forward to see what you will create with those pyramids! :-)
Thank you!
You're welcome! Did you make something with the paper pyramids?
I love them did it on my wall
Cool! Could you share a photo of your pyramids so that I can show them in a future origami video?
6:33 reminds me of that strange outerspace face enemy in the original StarFox game, wow! Haha!
These look so cool on my wall thank you!
Hey !!
Thanks for the tutorial. My older brother asked me to do a diy for a project and he was gonna pay me so I did it.
Waw cool viri goode😚😚😚😙😗😙😙
AMEI!!!!!GRATIDÃO
Made one of those for my wall with 30 pieces using autumn colors. Tuto was great. Only need to add the assembly fold before we actually start to join the pieces together. I ended up using hot glue as well for a better finish and avoiding the pieces to fall.
Hello, beautiful job i loved these amazing pyramids but have a request please how can i send you a picture so you can make tell me how to fold them. thank you

Thanks... 😊😊😀

Great💯I will try this for sure :-)
Just curious, did you make some wall decor with the origami pyramids?
I appreciate your art sir. This will help me in my art assignment
Our art teacher just told us to make and show and you saved me. Thank you.
BTW where are you from, I like your accent. I am from India
Hi! Could you send me a picture of what you made in your art class? I'm curious to see it!
I'm from France. Would you like to participate in the wordwide map of origami boats? We don't have one from India yet. origami.plus/world-map-of-origami-boats
I liked this video I will see more
Very interesting
hi what kind of paper did you use?
what is your accent man? its very relaxing
I would have said French. I'm French and his accent scratches my ears, I find it horrible. And at the same time, I am horrified at the idea that I too can have this accent when I speak in English lol :'D
@@elaeys4439 it is obvious when he says mosaïque and pyramide or even "paper"😂
Which size of paper we have to take
Oooooooh the acent
Yeah I know, I always get a lot of compliments about my accent. :)
how i make long angle for the tringle??
Sorry I don't know which long angle? At what time in the video?

What is the paper weight you are using for these?
i was kinda looking for a infinity triangle thingy but i guess this is cool? 🙂😀🙁
I love how you tell the steps but at 3:03 first, i got it wrong, but after 3 attempts i finally relized i made it wrong lol 😅 anyways tysm for your tutorial! Make more pls 🎉 You've earned a new sub ❤😊

+Maja Aničić I'm sure that you will make very interesting things soon!
I was having problems to understand him, then I noticed he speaks french... I had to switch my brain to frech so I could understand... An I love the video
Yes, I pretend to speak English but I can't foul many people. :)
Hey can anybody plz tell me the name of the origami sheet he is using?
Hi, I use plain origami paper, it's called "kami".
Shis is so smartttttt !!!!!!!
how do you make it so neeeeeeeet
How much is the measurement of the paper
Adamsınnn
There's gotta be a better way to join them?
+PurpleTurk Well you could always use glue, but then it's not origami anymore, it's a bit less pleasing for paper folders.
I'm wondering if there is some way to end up with pockets one each inner face as well as flaps on the outside? I want to make a large wall hanging out of these, but I'm worried about the air folding when I have a large piece...
+PurpleTurk I made pyramid modules with both pockets and flaps, to make 3d objects but you can use them for wall decor too: kzhead.info/sun/o9yvqZVpnKiYbJ8/bejne.html
Nice, That will work perfectly... I wonder how Big I can go before the repetitive folding drives me insane :D
+PurpleTurk I would love to see what you make, please send me some pics when you are done!
I'll subscribe immediately
Kto z Polski? Pozdrawiam Gliwice
What kind of paper did you use..?
Sorry for my late reply. I used standard origami paper, but any kind of paper works, as long as it is square.
