  • The only Reason i agree with is the UI Design and Fluidity. The Build quality of Flagship Androids is on par with new iPhones. iMessage is an US only problem. Images get sent over Wifi via Whatsapp to Androids too.

    • I agree with what you're saying. Build quality was my last point for a reason because there are some really good flagship androids out there. Also I did point out in my video that iMessage is a problem only here in the US because of the huge market share here. Nobody really uses other messaging apps 😕

  • That's cute. I have 45 reasons why iOS is 10 years behind Android in features, usability and utility: 1. Notifications. There isn't even a comparison. iOS notifications are horrendous, even Android notifications from 2012 are better than today's iOS notifications. 2. Apps. This is one of the biggest iOS flaws. App Store don't have variety of Apps, therefore, lots of relevant and quality apps are missing. When I switched to iOS, I missed about 20 essential apps that I used every week, and I couldn't find any alternative for them on the Apple Store, even in paid apps. For example, something so trivial like a MUSIC PLAYER APP, there's not ONE in iOS that is at least comparable with PowerAmp on Android, even in paid apps. 4. No real file manager. Unbelievable. This totally spoils the usage of the OS in so many ways. 3. No always-On Screen. iOS don't have this in 2023 while Android had it for so many years. 5. The iOS keyboard sucks, while Android's Gboard is actually pretty good. You can install third party keyboards on iOS, but the keyboad will still be almost equally bad because Apple forces third party keyboards to use the Apple's API. 6. Siri sucks so much. Google Assistant is extremely good, I'd say it's 10 years ahead of Siri. 7. Selecting text is really dumb and slow on iOS compared to Android. 8. No Sideloading apps. 9. Extremely poor customization and no third party launchers. 10. No system-wide adblocker. 11. No real browser like Kiwi on Android, that let's you install any desktop browser extensions. Safari is a joke, and again, Apple don't let you install a third party browser to surpass this issue, because all iOS browsers on App Store use Safari's API, so in reality no matter which browser you use, you are always running Safari. The exact same problem happens with third party keyboard, as I explained. 12. No possibility to set default apps. 13. No real and interactive widgets. It's true that iOS finally implemented widgets after 13 years that Android had it (lol) but it still doesn't come close to Android's widget, as iOS widgets aren't really interactive. 14. No universal back gesture. 15. No split screen/multitasking. 16. Can't change volume independently for alarm, media, notifications, etc. 17. No fingerprint scanner. 18. No call recording. 19. No usb stick/hard disk support through OTG. 20. No direct face unlock without swiping. 21. No file transfer to PC. I can't stand that iTunes bullshit. 22. No Picture in Picture feature/floating apps like Google Maps does on Android. 23. No console emulators. 24. No possibility to installing custom roms. 25. No possibility to download torrents. 26. No possibility to change size of all the text on the system. 27. No native OGG and FLAC support. 28. Still uses lightning port. Edit: they finally implemented USB-C in 2023 because they were forced to (europe regulations), but the speed is the same as the old lightning port (lol), so not on par with the average Android USB-C. 29. No MHL (mirror phone to monitor/TV). 30. No desktop mode like some Androids have, for example Samsung DeX and Motorola Ready. 31. No quick disable auto brightness 32. Correcting words is a nightmare because the cursor only goes to beginning or end of words, not where you touch it like on Android. 33. Phone dialer app is a joke. No cursor, if you accidently press a wrong number, you have to backspace the whole thing and redo again, and the same goes for the calculator app. And no T9 dialing. 34. No pause in video recording. 35. No battery saver (low power mode on iOS is a gimmick). On Android the power saver would drastically extend the battery life. 36. if an app is malfunctioning, you will have to uninstall and reinstall, while on Android you could just clear cache/data 37. No option to use navigation buttons 38. if an app crashes, it will just close or freeze abruptly with no notification whatsoever, while on Android it will give you a notification that the app has stopped working and give you options to force close or to wait. 39. No Clipboard feature 40. Totally unintuitive way to change app settings. Most apps settings can't be accessed directly from the app, you have to leave the app, open phone settings, look for the app, then locate the app settings. The same goes for the camera app, no menu inside the camera app. Also no pro mode for the camera. 41. No pin to screen feature 42. Photo management is terrible, for example, Whatsapp photos get saved in the camera roll. Wtf? 43. Still no easy native way to add custom ringtones. Laughable. 44. No scrolling screeshots 45. No option to change animation speed, which decreases speed, or at the very least, decreases the perceptibility of speed. Of course there are a lot of other small things and details that I don't recall right now or don't know, but I won't extend further. It's over for applefags.

    • Many of your points are simply not true, while others are completely dumb. You are saying that there is no files app, even though there is one. You are saying that iPhones don't have always on displays, which is also not true. You are saying picture in picture is not a thing, even though it is. "but the speed is the same as the old lightning" my iPhone 15 pros transfer speed of 10 Gbps is faster than most androids, including samsungs flagships. You are also saying you can't clear the cache when an app stops working..... Firstly apps crash extremely rarely unlike on android where it happens every single day, secondly you can easily clear the cache of an app in the apps settings. Most of your points are also non issues. For most of your points there is a counter point to android. Also, what does a feature of a third party app have to do with the iPhones photo management? What a braindead list

Even the calculator is very basic,. In android, u can see the calculatioms u done just in the screen itself, but in ios the app is like an old one we used 20 yra ago 6. No numbers on the keypad 7. Even if we switch to numerical keyboard from alphabets, the most frequent symbols like *, +, #, etc are on the second page of symbols.. These are the things that got to my nerves just in 3 days.

  • Living outside of the US I can't understand many of those iPhone advantages. Nobody uses iMessage and the default way of communication and video sharing is through Watts App. The only weakness of Android usage of Watts App is if I use the in-app camera functionality instead of the device camera app and then attaching the video. Downloading and uploading files to the PC is better with Android device because the phone just looks like external USB drive when connected. Finally, the elephant in the room is the price. Buying iPhones outside the US is even more expensive then in the US and buying the basest Apple ecosystem (iPhone+MacBook air) is twice the cost of comparable ecosystem (I use Asus ZenFone+TUF laptop) and I get a laptop that's good enough for gaming as a bonus. I also require a Windows PC for work so the MacBook would be in addition to the TUF.

    • This is my experience. First iOS device was a 12 - which I still have because 1. my kid's schools force them into iPads from Grade 4 all the way to Year 9. 2. because we use the apple family safety features - my wife and I both gave up our S series Galaxy's for an 11 for my wife and a 12 for me 3. My prev Gen 1 series only has apple car play - no android auto unless I spend a lot of cash on an adaptor that will force iDrive to work with Android Auto - or I get a new car 4. I have a crappy Motorola g31 that I got for free running Android 12 and just for a laugh - I put my SIM card into it and daily drove it for a week. The entire Android experience is so much better than Apple (I don't do social media like FB, TikTok etc so I don't care about the lower quality camera photos when using the Whatsapp camera vs the native camera) - just having notifications that make sense, or not having to navigate that stupid setting screen to change something instead of just changing it in the app then and there makes Android superior in usability. I've been watching more and more videos of iOS vs Android - I think I might trade in the 12 for a Pixel 8 now that they've said they will be supporting it for 7 years of Android updates.

Apple was the 1st smart phone tho, so up until that point I was using an iPhone and was into Jailbreaking and all that jazz once that all started to be popular. Once I started using Android’s I got into rooting and swapping ROMs and all that too!! Im wanting to use Android because I really would like to use a Z Fold 5… my last Android phone was the Note 20 Ultra… I LOVED that phone ! Even got a Tab S7+ to go along with it!! But… ended up selling it all and going back to Apple. Everything just works better and flows more fluently IMO!! There’s always a honeymoon phase when I’ve tried switching back to Android. I’m in a lot group txt threads and the experience was HORRIBLE with that! Along with limited media files that you were allowed to send through txt 😢 I don’t understand why Android users get so upset with Apple users 😅 I’ve literally used BOTH to their FULLEST and have concluded that Apple suits me the most… to each their own 🤷‍♂️

  • There's only one major flaw to your comparison and that's regarding the software support. Apple is still years ahead of any android brand when it comes to delivering regular updates that actually solves minor issues, unlike its android counterparts. Even though, for example purposes only, Samsung delivers 4 android updates + 5 year security patches, with their flagship lineups, most often than not, those patches don't solve a single thing. Starting from galaxy s3, I've had almost every single Samsung S series and Note series phone, and let me tell you, camera focus issue on Samsung phones was always there, even back in the day. They still haven't find a way to fix it or, they choose not to do so. S21ultra had it, s22ultra as well and even s23ultra. Every single one of those phones could not provide you with a constantly decent photos/ videos of a moving subject. Sure, they can get the job done, but you will have to work for it, more often than you would want. Every year, after a few months after launching their new flagship series, Samsung issues a patch which was, supposedly, going to fix the camera issues. But, it never does. Than you spend time waiting for another patch and the cycle goes on. Soon enough, new flagship phones are set to launch and the older gen gets forgotten. They still keep pushing updates, patches, but no one cares now, there's a new kid on the block. Iphone, on the other hand, gets the job done almost every single time. Sure, some hickups occure when you rush a new product, but they don't ignore it. They promptly issue a patch that fixes the problem. Not having to delete tons of blurry photos (or unusable videos) every time I wanna capture my toddler running around the house, goofing around is a huge difference and a headache remover, at least in my book.

  • I was thinking going to Android as I see some cool developments and cost, but had the same reasons as you gave for not doing that. I am afraid ultimately Android has too many services continuity limitations and you require too much tinkering to find alternatives. As I get older, I value service functionality, ease of use, and overall integration, which Apple simply does best. • I really wish Apple just went all the way with iOS. It's great overall and looks and feels nice, but navigating it can be super counter-intuitive. Why do I have to go to the settings app for almost every little thing, while on Android settings are always accessible from within the apps themselves? For an OS that claims to be intuitive, that sure as hell isn't. Same goes for the back gesture on iOS, or the lack thereof. In some apps it's a swipe from the left, in some it's a button on the top left, and in some instances you have to swipe down...often it's different even within the same app depending on which menu you're in. That's just not a good thing to do

    • I agree on the gesture control, sometimes its weird but in 90% of the time its not an issue. As for the settings, I actually prefer that. I think it brings order to the chaos of settings as most apps follow unified approach to the settings. You always know what you can do to an app in the settings menu vs in-app settings. Also, most apps still allow for in-app tweaking, its just for major bits that relate to data tracking and some phone hardware control that you must go to the settings menu on IOS. This actually does make sense as it allows for easier privacy control and overview of your settings per app. Of course, if you do not use IOS often it can be hella frustrating for a few months till you get used to it :D @@leDespicable

  • You see I love apple but, for example, I also miss being able to download apps to get free ringtones. And more freedom of customization, but it has been along time since I owned an android phone in the first, which was from a pretty crappy, android phone to an iPhone 6s and I can tell you it was an astronomical difference and upgrade. I’ve been looking at new phones like the Samsung galaxy S 23 and comparing them to my new iPhone 14 promax and iPhone such as xiaomi and oppo or whatever they are. And I can tell you that I’m happy with my purchase of the iPhone 14 promax it is just a great all-around phone to carry in my pocket every day, and although there are small places where android beats Apple, nothing beats Apple software and the seamless design and optimization of it they put so many hours of work in to. So Apple versus android I think it really depends on you like you said, I like this channel and I have subscribed I hope to see you go farther. Thank you. Have a great day.

I've also moved home and all of my family and friends are on iPhone. I used to sneer at the peer pressure but for the first time I'm actually feeling inferior on my android... I also went from a flagship Samsung to the FE and a lot of apps I use on a daily basis are buggy and I'm tired of it. I recently switched back to Mac, and I've been enjoying my iPad pro since 2018. Though it feels like I'm joining a cult, I'm ready to embrace the ecosystem (never thought I'd say it kinda makes me feel queasy 😂) I've been patiently waiting for type c and other features to finally come through on the iPhone and the time is here. @lucaswild@lucaswild4 ай бұрын
    • @@lucaswild i’ve been very happy with the iPhone 15 Pro Max! It is very heavy compared to even my largest Samsung, but it’s a compromise for the beautiful quality and performance. I do feel that the 5X zoom is a bit of a gimmick. I’m a photographer and I love using my phone on the fly, but I find that in many real world applications where I would rather use my phone over my camera, the 5X zoom is a little too close, and I find myself, wishing that I could use the 2X without it being a digital crop. Besides that, the quality has been great for my work in social media. What’s most important is the video quality since that is the preferred format and that has been leaps and bounds beyond any, android that I have previously owned. There have been some software glitches, but nothing as bad as what I experienced on android. As for the ecosystem, I’m really loving the functionality between my devices. It’s made me much more productive. I do feel the capitalist scheme working on me though lol. I was perfectly happy to stay with my Samsung watch. I prefer the look of them quite a bit to the Apple Watch, however, since I’ve gotten into using things like Apple health and having watched the release trailer for the new Apple Watch I feel, a sudden desire. The only thing I won’t break on is the AirPods. After looking into them for my boyfriend‘s birthday and going through all the specs, I realized that even a Samsung buds model from years ago, outperforms the standard AirPods, and I simply refuse to pay all that money for the AirPods Pro, when people say that the quality is mediocre and I can get the same benefits out of my Samsung buds that I already own. There are some minor things that I miss about the android experience, but I expected this, and it’s nowhere near as bad as I feared it would be. I find that iOS and One UI have become quit similar experiences these days, with the only major differentiation being the ecosystem.

I appreciate this video detailing how Apple’s interfaces are meticulously designed, sparing users from the hassle of customization. Personally, I don’t require much from my phone and lack the time to tweak every setting for each app. I agree that the iMessage and app optimization are selling points. The iPhone’s popularity in America stems from its plug-and-play simplicity - it’s ready to use without a manual. As a college student, my iPhone serves more than just communication; it’s a multi tool for saving notes, managing tasks, recording lectures, and scanning documents . Plus, iCloud storage ensures seamless access to my media across all devices. After over 10 years of using the iPhone, I am satisfied with the phone’s performance.

What i see from apple is less needed b/s with customization that i find tacky with android and you also get no bloatware with iphone or carrier bloatware that takes up space. Before iphone i was always using android and now i have an iphone I don’t think im going back. Only actual real difference i found between the two is usability and that is as far as the cursor goes when typing and needing to make a change. I’ve always used pc and now that ive tried the iphone i think im going to get a mac now. With apple they have never been wrong with form and function doesn’t seem to be lagging. Performance is amazing which Ive experienced issues with on high end androids and this phone has by far the best battery life ive ever experienced. People have complained about iphone getting too hot and ive noticed that has to do with the GPS always on and when i have location off my phone is actually always cold even while im using it watching movies or whatever so don’t mind others little pet peeves and just get an iphone all the b/s of world is all around us and the market has everything to do with it, people want to buy in at low costs then spike the punch for gains afterwards. • Apple's big advantage is that they produce as well hardware and software. Android does not have that, its a "one fits all" - solution since the software has to be able to handle a huge variety of hardware. Thats why iOS UI feels so smooth and android often does not. Therefore I have high expectations of Google's Pixel-phones. iMessage seems to be an US-only problem. Over here in Europe we use Whatsapp or RCS and it works perfectly fine. In fact iMessage is one of Apple's tricks to keep ppl within the ecosystem, while refusing to go with the trend. To me Apple has become uninnovative. They did not want to use USB-C, they sell old hardware for high prices, they dont pick up "new" technology like RCS (Google introduced RCS in 2015 i believe...) and so on. Sure with iOS you get decent battery life, good camera and an overall smooth system. But you got that with the last 10 versions of iPhone too. There is a ton of features android offers for years that never made it into apples ecosystem. There is nothing really new, nothing really exciting. iPhones are boring and for the most part outdated.

  • I am watching this in 2024 and it's safe to say with new updates on the s23 ultra some of things you said based on your feelings as being better has been really much improved on the s23. But iPhone is also really good with their work no doubt.

  • Do you store all of those photos in iCloud, or do you backup all those photos in iCloud? There is a difference and its one of my biggest issues with iCloud. If you really stored them there then you could delete them off your local device like I do with my pixel and still access them on your phone.

  • Back to Android. I only left because I had heard the rave reviews of the iphone camera, and Android, circa Pixel 3, was pretty horrible. Pixel Fold for me now. I still think the Pixel camera is better. I'm in the Google drive system, and photo uploads from iphone to drive, is a pain.

  • S-Beam be like, it's only been 21 years, give them some time to figure it out. Also, it's all about privacy when you realize that apple keeps a copy online of every single file that you have on the device so i can deliver it in 4k to any other iphone user.

    • Do not switch to s23 ultra is horrendous, had to send two back because of faults, and this one is just as bad, the screen is washed out compared to previous samsungs, I'm here right now trying to persuade myself to move to iphone, only thing stopping me if the last of a back button and no notification bar oh and the slow charging on iphones, they're the only reasons I haven't yet swapped it out

  • Great video. I too am in the situation where most people I know are on iPhone and with a new baby it's very frustrating when video doesn't come through. Add onto that I use a Mac at work and it's really made me consider the iPhone 15 when it launches even though I have had a Samsung since the first Galaxy. It's surprisingly tough to actually make the decision to switch but I feel like it might finally be time.

  • Being a person that has used both apple and samsung Rn I use an Iphone as far me personally am concerned I really barely remember me customizing my phone that often yea its a nice feature to have but not a deal breaker or fixer for me If u’d ask me abt this when i was 13 yea maybe I’d go for the samsung due to customization but being grown up now I realize why ppl buy iphones , what I m concerned with personally is that I don’t game too much its usually just social media and a bit of work And I really don’t wanna be upgrading every 2 years Even if u have an iphone x it would prolly still work fine The thing with samsungs is that I personally don’t think it is as long lasting as an iPhone With apps having better optimization overall and a more fluid layout In simple words its just ur prefrerence what phone u wanna use

  • I’ve been an apple user for 9 years. What frustrates me is that nothing usually changes with Apple. On the other I’ve attempted to switch from IOS to android THREE TIMES but I always end up going back to the store and returning it for an iPhone with a week of purchasing it. I’m way too adapted to the software that switching is so mentally draining. But it’s still frustrates me how little to nothing changes with Apple every time I upgrade I feel like I’m paying for the title not the new features.

  • I have both Samsung S24 Ultra and an IPhone 15 pro max. I have a Mac and an iPad. I also have a Mac at work. Arguably, the S24 is better in many ways but I have lots of issues with Google Assistant understanding simple commands like making WhatsApp calls. For some reason I can never get it to work consistently and I get it you can do lots more with GA but Siri in my experience is way faster, understands me better and just gets the job done. And believe me I have been through every setting video because I really wanted to work for me. Another reason, the iPhone is much lighter and easy to hold with one hand and the keyboard is now and days way better and faster. Also, camera. I love the photos coming out from Samsung but the difference is minimal. Video, however, is much better from the iPhone. The stability and dynamic range is insane on the 15PM. I really love my s24 but the pros are not enough for me to replace all my apple ecosystem. Plus everyone at work and family has an iPhone. As much as would not follow the flow, it is really convenient to use airdrop and the copy paste. After almost 4 month, I had made my decision. I will keep my iPhone for convenience, not because it is the best phone, but because it is the best phone for me personally.
