Grealish has been a waste of a 100 million, Rodrygo proved that.
@stejabrayaga Doku is not the finished product. But he is clearly showing how predictable Grealish is. If you actually objectively watch Grealish, all he does is eventually cut back onto his right foot and pass backwards or sideways on repeat again and again. When he does “try” to go around the outside of a defender he virtually always drags his feet and attempts to draw a foul because he doesn’t actually have the pace to beat them. On top of that, he never uses his left foot to pass, cross, and put balls into the box. He is good at holding onto the ball but he provides no width. On top of that, people are not putting two and two together and realizing Silva does the exact same thing on the opposite wing. City have no width. And Walker, Gvardiol, Akanji, and Ake are also guilty of constantly cutting the ball back from wide positions. The end result is that both Alvarez and Haaland are absolutely starved of service in the forward position. Too many people don’t realize it’s not just Haaland being impacted but Alvarez as well. Both of them barely touch the ball or get any type of consistent service.
Haaland has been a waste of money and time. Can score when the team needs it.
@@DeviousDucky552 You need to watch games a lot more closely to see what the real issues are. Both Alvarez and Haaland are being squeezed out of games because opponents are forcing City wide and clogging the box playing extreme low blocks because they know City don’t cross the ball and rarely shoot from distance. Too many people just focus on Haaland and don’t realize Alvarez is facing the exact same issues at City. The difference is Alvarez will go out wide to collect the ball but he inevitably just passes the ball backwards or sideways as well once he’s out there. He’s barely touching the ball up top as well. It’s a system issue that Pep needs to adapt to. Because teams are finding a way to stifle City more and more by using their extreme possession against them.

If Doku had been on from the start, they would have won easily. Grealish is the most average player at this level. He doesn't believe he has enough pace to beat a full back on the outside. He does this repeated "will I won't I" nonsense and then passes the ball back or sideways. 90% of his attempted crosses are blocked. And he doesn't have a knack for scoring goals. It's really time to drop Haaland too. Give Alvarez another run in the team. He's a fantastic finisher and much better in all round play also.
Any time Anyone does a penalty straight down the middle, whether they score or not, Everyone should be outraged. It's idiotic that every goalkeeper doesn't just watch the ball and try to stop it. They'd save far more penalties that way.
This is so true if its a brillant penalty its going in either way but if you wait many penalties are so poor you will always have a chance of saving them especially in a shoot out.
The reality of the matter is most players don’t put it down the middle and if you’ve ever been a keeper in a shootout, you know that agaisnt the best, to stand a realistic chance of saving the shots, you commit before the shot is taken. You won’t get down and be near the ball even if it can be saved if you wait, unless it’s not hit with proper power. This is why keepers rarely gamble and just stay on their feet, you could easily end up looking like the stupid one if the player goes right or left. Silva did not set this penalty up properly, with a few glances to particular spot, eyes locked and a slow walk to see if the keeper commits, which made it easier for Lunin to just remain on his feet.

People are mocking Haaland. But the bigger issue for both Alvarez and Haaland is every opponent City plays, including Real Madrid, are camping out inside their own box, putting 11 players behind the ball, and significantly constricting the space in which they can operate. The end result is that both Alvarez and Haaland are barely involved in the play because City are forced to play out wide and constantly recycle the ball. And because players like Grealish, Silva, and Foden constantly cut back and refuse to provide first time crosses, either in the air or on the ground, defenders are constantly able to reset, face the field instead of defending running back toward their own goal, and the advantage that Haaland and Alvarez have running towards goal is gone. In the end, opponents have adapted and are literally squeezing both Haaland and Alvarez out of the game by giving them no room in which to operate by making the pitch tiny for City.
Also why didn't man city do any shots from distance, what's all this walking the ball into the net. First leg you scored screamers against that keeper, pep overthink everything
@shazanali692 Because Pep instills a possession obsession ethos into his side that eventually makes them very predictable. The reality is unless City actually put in crosses and shoot from distance, they become easier and easier for opponents to defend against. Wenger said it best very recently. He said De Bruyne is the only City player aside from Haaland who wants to “progress” the ball while the rest want to “possess” the ball. The problem becomes when the possession is so extreme, bordering on an almost OCD like obsession with never losing the ball, that it actually hinders the attack and makes it far too predictable.
This paragraph summarises our season perfectly. Our midfielders and wingers are so irritating. Mfs don't create shite. Pep needs to rebuild man city again. And if we win the Prem and FA cup it will becoz of arsenal and Liverpool bottled it. Not becoz we good. We are third or fourth best team in England right know. If we can get pedri or DE Jong and a creative midfielder and two wingers we good. The reason haaland and alvarez hasn't been good is becoz the players around only what to keep possession and when they get in oppositions box their decision is absolutely poor.

If you're taking a penalty, at least make the keeper dive. Too many penalties these days are struck down the middle. In a shootout, there's always at least one down the middle. A clever keeper would wait till after the ball is struck before deciding. Guaranteed to save at least one. That said, Silva's penalty wasn't too bad. A bad penalty is Rashford in the Euro final. Made the keeper dive the wrong way...then missed the target, anyway.
