Playing Steam Deck Games with a HUGE Screen in a Quest 3 is AMAZING!
The Steam Deck is AMAZING. The Meta Quest 3 is AMAZING. Together they are... whatever is more than amazing!
The steam deck is a fantastic device but sometimes it's nice to play on a massive screen. With the Meta Quest 3's mixed reality abilities it's easy to do that now by side loading Steam link using Sidequest. This can also be done on a Quest 2. Let's find out how to do it using Steam Link.

The screen can go way bigger than seen in the video by grabbing and dragging the corners of the screen. Point the controllers at the corners until you see the little white corners then drag. Do you like to play Steam Deck on a big screen? Let us know how you do it below.
Sweet Jesus this was the "easy" way?!!
😂😂 I think it's pretty easy.
Its really not that difficult. However, the method used by the youtuber is a bit different than i did.
I've used a shadowcast and a sideloaded a usb webcam app to play steamdeck games on the quest 2. Only issue is power consumption, since the shadowcast is powered via the usb C port.
it confuses me that an android app can do this but the official app cannot. It should be embedded since it can do it too. Hopefully the devs further improve the steam link app. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah
I notice that your surroundings look clear and sharp, but I notice that when I use my Quest 3, my surroundings look a bit blurry, perhaps pixelated. Is there something I need to change or is my Quest just defective?
It's not mega sharp when you're in actual VR (or rather AR) try recording some footage and playing it back, does it seem sharper then?
I do the same with immersed app on deck and quest
I was going to make an immersed video before I found out about the steam link method. I may still look into it 👍
What is the best way to connect my quest to laptop without having good router. Usually I use phone to connect wirelessly to laptop and use laptop hotspot to connect to headset but even than signal is not stable. and everytime setting like that tiresome
Tried USB C cable?
@@VRCauldron Sure but loosing wireless mode seems move backward
@@iraklimgeladze5223 what router do you have? Mine isn't expensive but it's WiFi 6. Even my old WiFi AC router worked really well
@@VRCauldron I have good route at my house but the most of time I am abroad. Carry router or hoppy places i stay have good router is not optional. Anyone my idea of having vr was to have portable monitor set up everywhere i go, but beside having gaming laptop and headset with me i need router too.
@@iraklimgeladze5223ok I understand. I'll have a think 🤔
How do I make the audio come from the headset only?
Mute the volume on the steam deck?
could you just run virtual desktop on steamdeck?
With windows installed yes
As Penguin said
can u even check if it works with rog ally
I'm planning on getting one pretty soon but since Rog ally is windows the normal app should work and also virtual desktop should work. But I'll test it as soon as I can
how would i do this for windows on the steam deck if you've tried?
You should just be able to install steam on windows and do exactly the same thing. I tried virtual desktop but it seems slow.
@@VRCauldron well no surprise there, the steam deck isn't quite vr ready
What about the ally?
Buy Virtual Desktop just like how you used Windows PC.
U do know steam link is in the app store right? No need for side loading
I don't think you watched the video
@@VRCauldronu said steam vr app on the quest store, to me thats a diff app than the steam link app, didnt know u meant them to be the same
