Ref gives youth soccer player a red card and kicks him out of the game. The injured boy broke his arm on the opposite side of the player. Slow motion of a injury against youth soccer player of Potomac Hotspurs. Parents accused the boy of breaking the player's arm.
Too many of you think this was an accident. That kid looks at where he is putting his foot then sticks it out to purposefully land on the other kids face.
It's easy to sometimes make a call when you have the benefit of being able to review it and really slow motion over and over again. When you're on the field in real time, often you have to make a decision based on what you saw... be it right or wrong.
This is what's called "VAR" now
Great clearance by the player in black
Yes that’s me in the white hello! Lmao 10 years later no red card
it would be easer to tell in normal speed. was there a stomp?
Sure looks like it...to the face of the Hotspur player.
That red is as clear as day. Not even an argument.
sounders on toppp
The comments in here are amazing and even though we all have the same video, in super slow motion, it's makes it clear how difficult the job of a referee is if different people, given the tool of super slow mo and unlimited replays come to very different conclusions as to whether the white player stepped on the other player's face or not and even saying it was intentional (I'm in camp: white is trying to AVOID contact. Arm breaks w/o white's doing, just unlucky. white does NOT step on the face - no foul, no card).
Player in blue got all ball, great play. In slow motion is does look like the player in white steps on his face or attempts to cleat him near his head. However, in full motion and speed, that may not be the case at all. I do not see a foul here at all. From a former club commission, team manager, three college kids playing soccer, kids played in region and one even the national league, I have been around the block with youth soccer.
But have you ever reffed a game? Just because a player gets the ball doesn't mean he can foul and not have have it called. Granted, I don't see a foul on the initial contact here. What I see is a smaller kid taking on a bigger kid and losing the physics battle. I feel bad the kid broke his arm too. But, there is violent conduct with the white team player hitting the blue team player in the face. So, that is why the player was SHOWN, not given, a red card. Yeah, I know semantics right? It's the ref inside me, I can't help myself sometimes.
The ref didn’t have slow mode and you did so stop being hella negative to the the ref. He called what he could see with his human eyes
Even if he saw that as a foul, no way in hell its even a yellow
Even though he did kick the kid in the face, it didn't look malicious or intentional, so it should have been just a yellow card for dangerous play.
It's either a red card for serious foul play, or nothing if it's accidental. Very difficult to tell which from this footage - who would be a referee ?
easy red, stepped on the kids face for god's sake.
But it didn’t look intentional, he was trying to avoid the kid, and his foot caught the kids fave
@@noahsoffian4050 - perhaps if he didn't go looking to intentionally foul the player, he wouldn't have been in a situation where he was looking down & stamping on the kid's face.
No foul. No card. There’s absolutely no evidence from this video that a card was shown. The blue player makes a great play to clear the ball then he puts his left arm down to break his fall. That arm breaks, probably both bones of the forearm by the way it is moving. As both players’ movements carry them they get close to contact, but I do not think white player touches him at all (maybe incidental contact). White player is looking down throughout the play IMO to try to avoid contact. He clearly does not step on the boys face - watch this carefully and you will see no reaction by the blue player. Someone commented on the difference between the slow-motion and the real-time versions of this video. In real-time the parents clearly “saw” what they thought happened and immediately were stating the white player stepped on blue player’s face. Bad accusations. Here’s the video: kzhead.info/sun/fNyehatrcKeJrZ8/bejne.html When the woman arrives and starts attending the injured player she elevates his legs - a treatment for shock. She does not tend to his crushed, bleeding facial wounds, which are non-existent. Please take time to carefully observe before commenting.
Disagree. Watched the video multiple times and it looks clear that he steps down on his left jaw/back of ear. Also, watch how both are running to the ball. Blue is looking at and going to the ball. White is constantly looking over at the player, ball, player, ball, player...BAM...then down at player...step on player head. Yeah. That's a red. Kid was going after the player BEFORE they were concerned with the ball.
Clear contact with the players foot on the face of the opponent, so red card. You can see the face move as the player makes contact with his face. No consideration for players health and wellbeing after the contact either.
If you don't mean to harm you slow down and avoid the player. He could have jumped over, or moved anywhere to left or right. He slows down his pace, clearly looks where he's stepping, and stomps on the face/arm of the blue players. Red card deserved. I was a CB, made that tackle every game. Current Ussf and high school ref. Stomping on a player who goes to ground to tackle is a red card, in every level I've played, coached, reffed or watched.
First off the center official isn't anywhere near the incident. 2nd goal keeper could have easily made a play on the ball but stayed back. and 3rd holding on white jersey player as soon as ball went through the defense. Other than that there might have been a push off that led to kid falling down. Looked like the momentum from the fall broke his arm. White jersey player might have stepped on his arm but I don't believe so. Yellow card at most didn't look like anything deliberate.
You know why it's a red card? Because the white kid kicks his opponent in the face on the follow through. Great call by the ref.
Julien Tagnon but you can tell that the kick wasn't intentional or malicious. It was dangerous, sure, but he was trying to play the ball and the other player did tumble. To me it's a yellow card for dangerous play, as he seemed to be out of control a bit in his pursuit of the ball.
@@JohnHillRSNStudios I disagree the amount of force used could be considered negligible but that doesn't mean he didnt endanger the saftey of the player. I would have been okey with a yellow but in my Referee mind that is a correct call by the IFAB Laws of the Game
@@JohnHillRSNStudios Nah...that kid was going for the player the entire trip down. Watch him look over at the CB multiple times and then when he knows he has been beaten to the ball, he lowers and blows the player backwards...then looks down while stepping on him.
As a ref clear and obvious foul by the white player. Endangers the saftey of his oppenet and he uses excessive force with the kick out. Great call RED all day long
It is evident that the player was trying to void stepping as best he could on the other kid, definitely possible yellow card but def not red
Absolutely a red card
Don't think white player meant to harm, slow motion always looks worse. Lack of strength caused black player to go down, better player would've stayed on feet. Previous interactions regarding white player may have helped referee working out intent.
no red maybe a yellow, but i wouldnt have given one
Not a red card theyre both running to the ball not even a foul
Eric Rios Agreed, this is a natural coming together of players. Minimal contact and the defender tackled the ball awkwardly.
Read you laws...this is classic violent conduct
Correct there is no initial foul, but then the player maintains stride and steps on the face of the other player on the ground. Violent conduct atleast, If not serious soul play based on how far away the ball is.
Daniel's World ...No. You are totally wrong. Zero violent conduct. No foul
Daniel's World ....Good thing you are no ref. You are clearly unqualified
