  • According to the recent Nutrition Diva podcast with Liz Shaw, they suggest always placing less food, and the importance of putting everything DRY. However, if going straight from frozen, is there going to be water as it heats? Is it best to thaw, let it dry, then put in? BTW, I have an Actifry T-FAL, does that make any difference?

    @bennguyen1313@bennguyen13134 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, less food is correct. I put them in frozen, and they come out great. They're not frozen in water, so any moisture would be what you'd find in the fresh potato. I haven't used an Actifry-style air fryer before, so I can't speak to that.

    @luckywithpaint7773@luckywithpaint77732 жыл бұрын
    • Some of my air fryers pause automatically when you shake, and others don’t. Either way, you can just do the quick shake without pausing. It only takes a few seconds, so you don’t lose too much heat or time. You don’t have to even pull the basket all the way out to shake, just halfway. Just move the basket back and forth rapidly for a few seconds, then close it back and let it finish cooking. I hope I’m explaining clearly! Lmk if you have more questions. I’m finding shaking harder to describe than it probably should be 😆

  • When you pull out the basket to shake the fries, do you turn off the machine, and then re-set it again?

    @elliesolo8390@elliesolo83904 жыл бұрын
    • Most machines will automatically pause cooking when you pull out the basket to shake. So no need to do anything else!

    @Madelong0063@Madelong00633 жыл бұрын
    • You definitely could, but I don't think it's necessary. For crunchier fries, do 12 minutes instead of 10. They're already deep fried before they're frozen.

      @glueandglitter@glueandglitter3 жыл бұрын
    • Yes you have to add a tablespoon of oil if you are making from scratch at home. For frozen fries you don't have to add oil because they are already fried for few minutes so they already have little amount of oil.

  • I love frozen fries and I buy the $1.68 bags from walmart. By chance does anybody know if an open bag of frozen fries can be stored for 4 days in fridge (not the freezer)? I'm asking in that my van has a small fridge i keep at like 30F so that can store salad , onions and green peppers for a week. I'd also like to keep otherwise frozen fries and vegan patties and hotdogs. I think it will be fine since veggies, but not sure.

  • Did you spray the air fryer before adding fries?

    @dannytrejo3455@dannytrejo3455 Жыл бұрын
    • No need! Don’t spray your nonstick basket with aerosol oil. It can cause the finish to chip over time.

    @d-op1502@d-op15024 жыл бұрын
    • D-op1 I never preheat. You can always tack on 1-3 min at the end, if needed, but the 10 min at 400 has always worked like a charm with no reheat. You may need more time with a fuller basket.

  • How do you shake the air fryer? Do you remove the basket in half time and shake or shake the entire machine from time to time ?

    @ayaan9646@ayaan96462 жыл бұрын
    • You just move the basket (not the whole machine) vigorously back and forth to shake the food around inside. No need to fully remove it.

      @ayaan9646@ayaan96462 жыл бұрын
    • @@ayaan9646 it depends on how full the basket is. If you're only making a few servings, then one shake will be fine. If you're filling it more, then shake 2-3 times, so everything has a change to hit that hot, circulating air.
