My own can be all over the map from boisterous to completely silent wheezing, or something in between. Regarding Jimmy, I’ve been in long line at a Dairy Queen during a comedy festival (JFL in Canada) and realized he was also in it because I heard him laugh. I looked further up ahead and saw him. There was an American comedian (Hannibal Buress) behind me in line that he ended up hanging around to meeting up and chatting with, so I got to hear him chuckle and laugh for awhile.

Big Fat Quiz is so much fun! They do a new one each year and then also do a quiz for each decade. It’s always a blast. Lots of recurring segments and guests. You should also check out “8 out of 10 cats does countdown”, “Taskmaster”, and “QI’ if you enjoyed this kind of shenanigans.

Big Fat Quiz and other British panel shows have legitimately helped me weather the harder bouts of my depression. Sometimes I see a new episode of something and put it into Watch Later for when I get a depression dip. 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown (and the original), QI (all series), Mock the Week, Would I Lie to You, Have I Got News for You. If you haven't dived in yet, just pick anything and enjoy. I started watching QI during my post partum depression and I'm serious, it may well be the reason I didn't kill myself or run away. It lifted me up every evening while I washed bottles and cried in my kitchen sink. That's some fucking good comedy there.

The way they talk about the whole freedom fries thing is misleading. The house didn't pass some sort of law that renamed them for the whole country. They just changed what they were calling French fries and French toast in their cafeterias. It was literally the least they could do, and it was the pettiest bullshit in the world.

Smartly (very rare for Congress), they voted no on changing it for the country and temporarily changed it for their cafeteria as a sign of respect.

Congress didn't come up with the Freedom Fries thing. They simply mentioned it a few times in passing. It was a restaurant owner that started using the name. And then it basically went viral and led to a petition. The petition had enough votes that it required Congress to vote on it. I'm no fan of Bush but he kept reading because a single plane crashing into a single building does not warrant a immediate response. It could very well be nothing more than an tragic accident. When it happened again, it was clearly no accident. Bush then ended his visit with the kids and addressed the nation.

I recall he asked a journo to take off his dark glasses in the rose garden. Turned out the journo was sight impaired. People howled for 2 or 3 news days about how insensitive George was. Okay, unfortunate circumstance. But I always remove my shades just to greet people in the street. For the unimpaired, it's good manners. Mind you, if there was a mile long queue to slap his stupid face, I'd cancel all my appointments & line up.
