  • Usyk is a breath of fresh air and a great personality. What he's achieved at cruiserweight and in four fights at heavyweight is legendary stuff. If he beats Fury to become undisputed then we're talking a different stratosphere.

    • W. Klitschko could've been undisputed easy if his brother vacated. I've never understood why people are hyped about someone holding all the belts at once (It's not really a stratosphere moment if you really think about it). It's now become a credible fight because Usyk beat AJ who has amazing commercial value! Before that people where saying ''Usyk is too small at heavyweight etc''. Also for example, If Joshua vacated before losing to Usyk and Fury went on to beat Usyk for the undisputed, people would say ''it isn't impressive because he's small and he still needs to beat AJ''. Boxing is fickle! The whole undisputed fight has been pushed by Hearn's marketing tactics but AJ blew it. Undisputed wasn't appealing before that. W. Klitschko rained for 10 years with his brother and nobody talked about undisputed ever. Even Mr Floyd Mayweather never became undisputed, people just wanted to see the Manny Pacquiao fight.

  • Thank you for this Gary, that interview was real. Sadly since then, the big fight with Fury has gone down the tubes, at least until later this year (fingers crossed.) Usyk is fighting for the honour of his country and the morale of his country folk, and to unify the division, he’s not preoccupied with money, so he accepted the wrong end of that lousy 70/30 split from Fury just to get it done. But Fury continued to throw obstacles in the way, and it’s not good for Usyk to swallow too much humble pie when he’s trying to inspire his people. I completely understand why he finally told the Gypsy Queen to shove it. Fingers crossed it happens in the future, hopefully somewhere neutral like Saudi with a fair 50/50 split, if both fighters remain undefeated until then (Usyk by beating all comers, Fury by ducking them.)

  • Brilliant interview and I was fascinated from the second it started. What an amazing and inspiring man. I wish him all the best against Tyson. God willing, the war with Russia stops asap as my heart goes out to those impacted. Truly awful.

  • I have been a fan of boxing over 30 years and I can count on my hand fighters that are as humble and genuine as this man I'm a massive fan of Usyk, not just for the way he carries himself, but also for his insane ability in the ring I like Fury too and have always supported him, buy this might be the first time I wouldn't mind seeing him lose

    • @@sc00bydoo10 I think he might be mine now too. Like you say, the ultimate road warrior I sometimes frequent boxing forums and he never gets hate which is rare, as these forums can be cess pits Class, class boxer and human. It's hard not to be a fan of the man!

    • @@Bigramt true, you might here people parroting crap like Fury’s “Middle weight” comments and that he’d get knocked out in a single hit. But, when it comes to purely his character, you basically can’t find anyone who has anything genuinely bad to say about him who doesn’t sound like an insane person.
