  • I've noticed how Lana's comment section is filled with self-reflective people-- we all are together in this journey to improve ourselves and become a better person, and Lana too. She doesn't portray herself as a high perfect figure, the audience doesn't idolise her, she doesn't want that either. She is just a part of this, this is real community. The comment section is not vague like others. You should be proud of creating such a positive audience, very few are able to connect this deeply with their audience. I'll say this is one of the biggest achievements one can achieve. Thank you Lana!

I just gave myself a chance to read few comments before going to the next video then few minutes I'll realize I spent quite lot of time reading comments. But no regrets. I so love this space. Caring about the things you say (like asking someone to text they got home and asking if they forget to) 5. Listening to others (instead of turning the conversa on yourself) 6. Wishing happy birthday at midnight 7. Hyping up someone’s music taste 8. Noticing changes to someone’s appearance 9. Asking if somebody wants anything when you go to the store 10. Getting excited when others get excited 11. Introducing acquaintances when you bump into each other and they don’t know them (rather than letting your company standing there) 12. Scooting over to make room on seats 13. Saying the nice things you think about people 14. Listening to others speaking 15. Letting others in line with only a few items to buy 16. Helping your community with things others don’t do (like picking up stuff) 17. Letting other in when there’s traffic 18. Greeting others 19. Asking to help others struggling 20. Offering snacks 21. Remembering details about what others say 22. Smiling at dogs 23. Asking others to join rather than just offering them 24. Getting back to others about stuff they recommended 25. Being patient with others 26. Hyping other’s progress 27. Smiling at others I missed two but these are basically the main points

    • I felt the same, and it was nice to see that more people care about this, and it's not like I do it to be better, I do it because I genuinely feel bad when people are not included or the group didn't laugh at someone's joke, or someone is talking and no one is listening, etc. I wish everyone would care about these things, it may seem like small details but when someone does that for you it means the world in that moment :)

I'd say my most toxic trait is being avoidant in social situations but now I don't think that's the same thing as social anxiety, so thanks for sharing. You gave me a good perspective to go off of.

  • Small kindness is a seed of love that beautifies our current society that desperately desires care and compassion for each other. My favorite out of the 29 was a difference b/w saying "I would like you to join." and "You can join if you want." Especially, this small difference would make an important impact in our everyday conversations with others. Small kindness is how we can support one another and something anyone can do. Thanks, Lana, for demonstrating this. (Sorry to keep editing my comment here. But your influence seems to be continuing to grow in my mind.)

  • It feels wholesome to recieve that kind of attention, but it's also so rewarding feeling if you've done something for others. My highlight of the day today was when I talked with one stranger, who seemned much older than me in university hallway. I said something along the likes that today is the worst day of the week, so difficult lectures and long and then she said that it's the same for her and that she forgot her food. I had a banana in bag which I offered to her, she hesitated at first and was concered that now I have nothing to eat myself but I said it's all good. She was so happy that it made my day. I should carry more snacks in my bag!

I just helped him solve the numerical and he was so happy. made my day. on a similar note couple months back one of the class toppers didn't know an answer but was embarrassed to ask anyone else and ended up asking me. I told him. Nobody knows he asked but it made me happy that he trusted me enough to ask.

For example, at the end of the day, u know and remember that you did something good and even can strike a conversation with that person you helped! I was tired of people around me always praising themselves and acting cool and stuff that i was the only one caring and I thought i was being seen as the weak one. So I started being indifferent and stopped caring so much and always wanted to be something that I really didn’t know! But this video reminded me that this was when i was happy! Acknowledging presence of others is so important imo, we've become excluded and often forget about every single person's importance in making our day or experience possible or easier. Also being aware of our same role in the society and making an effort to be kind, which in a way sums up your 29 points, is crucial. Thank you for making this video and best wishes to you, Lana!

  • When I was walking on a busy street in Budapest I saw an old man in a wheelchair that dropped something accidently on the ground. I saw he was struggling from the wheelchair to pick it up and there were like 50 people walking past him and no one even looked at him, it was so sad. When I saw him I immediately picked it up for him and he thanked me with a big smile on his face, which totally made my day. Moral of the story, I know we live in a fast world, and everyone is in a rush but sometimes take a look around and help the people around you because if you were in that wheelchair you would have appreciated it a lot if someone helped you in that case.

  • Oh this video is beautiful. It's definitely the little things that count. Half of the things you mentioned here, I see them at work everyday. Those people see me, and I see them. It's such a joy to wake up every morning to go to work with people who see you, acknowledge you, support you, and show you kindness, and even hype you up for the little progress that you make. I am going to try and apply these principles in my daily life. I really want to bring a smile to somebody's face everyday, even if it's just one person per day. The way my colleagues and manager see me at work, I want to see people everywhere I go the same way.

  • in brief: The video is a compilation of simple yet impactful actions that can positively affect others and make one seem like a "cool" person. The video emphasizes the power of small gestures and kindness in everyday interactions. 1. Including others in a group, especially those who might feel left out. 2. Waiting for someone who is tying their shoe or performing a similar task. 3. Holding doors open for others, but not so far away that it causes awkwardness. 4. Asking someone to text when they get home safely and following up if they forget. 5. Listening actively to others without making the conversation about oneself. 6. Celebrating someone’s birthday right at midnight. 7. Appreciating and hyping up someone's taste in music. 8. Noticing and complimenting changes in someone's appearance. 9. Asking if someone needs anything when going to the store. 10. Sharing in someone's excitement. 11. Introducing someone you know to others in a group. 12. Making room for someone who wants to sit down. 13. Saying nice things about others openly. 14. Giving attention to someone who is being interrupted or ignored in a conversation. 15. Letting someone with fewer items go ahead in a grocery line. 16. Picking up items that have fallen off shelves in stores. 17. Letting others merge into traffic. 18. Greeting people warmly in social settings like offices. 19. Offering help to those who appear to be struggling. 20. Walking someone home who seems lost or disoriented. 21. Remembering small details that someone mentioned earlier. 22. Smiling at someone's pet. 23. Inviting people to join activities in a welcoming manner. 24. Following up on recommendations others have given you. 25. Being patient and understanding, especially in teaching or explaining scenarios. 26. Celebrating small victories of others with enthusiasm. 27. Expressing gratitude to service workers like Uber drivers, waiters, etc. 28. Realizing the importance of basic human interaction like smiling, saying hi, please, and thank you. Lana Blakely concludes by acknowledging that while she doesn't always remember to do all these things, it's important to try, as these small actions can make a significant difference in someone's day.gpt4

  • Hello Lana! Out of the twenty nine things you mentioned, I feel like I still have much to learn and give, not just to my family but to the community and strangers too. The few things that make me upset are: when someone ignores others just for the sake of ignorance. Then there's the person who knows there are five people in the room but only includes three of them into the conversation -- maybe this young boy has something of value to add too, by excluding that one person you are being ill-manered. Or when someone is talking but another person is eager to talk about themselves and keeps on interrupting (can you wait for your turn? We want to hear what she has to say!) Overall, we all need that extra love and kindness to get us through the day. 🌄 ❤

I was correct for a time people like myself was banned from NYC because I refused to have snake venom injected in to my arm. I never wore masks, never social distanced and never followed any of the Covid rules and I am not sick nor am I dead. Why is that?
