maybe Cyplenkov, a prime Brzenk or a prime Larrat... Voevoda was VERY strong but it's impossible to say how strong he was... he defeated bagent right arm, Pushkar, and a VERY small and injured Brzenk ;;; he still had a lot to prove. But in 2004 he was the best, we have no doubts about that.

Larratt is slow at the start, and if he went outside he would have gotten pinned fast. He is more powerful than Taras, and has stronger wrist flexion, but Taras is the top roll master. No way you can go over him at the start. He was always weak at finishing though.

I think I've read somewhere that John said Taras Ivakin has the best toproll in all of armwrestling. This video is strong proof of that. Just look at Devon, he knows its coming but its just too damn powerful. Also, I'm a huge Voevoda fan, but I have to say even in his best shape he can't beat Denis lefthanded. Voevodas right arm on the other hand in his best shape is unmatched I believe. Looking forward to his comeback.

Interesting that Taras lost to 95kg John and Michael Todd this same year, it seems they were stronger than Devon was at this time. Taras is trying to make a come back now. In the strap Devon would beat him but this was before Larrats surgery. After the surgery and rehab he became way stronger. Hitting big is not really his thing even today coz hes a back pressure and hold style player....n not a side pressure guy coz as he confessed side pressure training would cause him pain after surgery. He has mastered the game within his limitations. A true mastermind and a strategist who is not the strongest per se.

Come on now. 08-10 is widely seen as Devon's peak at least until lately. He just got steamrolled by Taras' raw strength and hand. Devon's hand has gotten quite a bit stronger I would say but this is probably his peak endurance and he still got wore out by the positions Taras was putting him in.

That's the funny thing, he's a phenomenal supermatch puller--the best until proven otherwise. But he's sacrificed his hitting speed for endurance and there are a bunch of pullers who could flash him in a tournament... he probably wouldn't last long at the nemiroff. Now, I do think that supermatches are better than tournaments for determining rankings, but like you said... idk if you can call yourself #1 if you don't do big tournaments.

I can't believe Taras beat Devon in match 3 after Devon stopped his hit. The first 2 matches were amazing! Interesting that Taras lost to 95kg John and Michael Todd this same year, it seems they were stronger than Devon was at this time.
Only problem is, voevoda doesn't arm wrestle. He hasn't arm wrestled competitively for the past 7 years, his prime.

Come on now. 08-10 is widely seen as Devon's peak at least until lately. He just got steamrolled by Taras' raw strength and hand. Devon's hand has gotten quite a bit stronger I would say but this is probably his peak endurance and he still got wore out by the positions Taras was putting him in.

@trashbash2001 This was well before Devon beat John. I think it this was from 2006 in fact (Devon beat John in Sep 2008). Taras has recently returned to armwrestling I believe after a long hiatus. Devon would crush him today.

That's the funny thing, he's a phenomenal supermatch puller--the best until proven otherwise. But he's sacrificed his hitting speed for endurance and there are a bunch of pullers who could flash him in a tournament... he probably wouldn't last long at the nemiroff. Now, I do think that supermatches are better than tournaments for determining rankings, but like you said... idk if you can call yourself #1 if you don't do big tournaments.
