  • Mine has been on raw all her life, even since when she was a puppy at the breeder. It was the breeder who introduce me to raw feeding, in fact it's one of the many rules that if you want to buy her puppy then you need to feed raw, and I do not regret the decision! I make raw diet for her myself as per breeder's multi-pages written documents/instructions, she gets a variety of meat/bone/organs daily, with supplements like petpepup powder, omega oil, fish oil, eggs, apple cider vinegar, and sardines. She's now almost 5 years old and never had any major health issues, never had her teeth cleaned by vet, and I don't brush her teeth either, its so white that even the vet is surprised. Her coat had always been so shiny and smooth aswell. Welcome to the world of raw feeders!

    • Kerry Fang when I got my pup, she was being fed tin food and I knew from day dot I wanted her on a mostly raw/scrap diet. It started off with just small bits of steak and then as she got older I was mixing veggies and herbs they can eat into mince and giving that along with some chicken necks. She also gets a soup bone every morning and whenever we go to a butcher we always ask if they have dog bones/scraps because it’s cheaper to buy like that because it’s the parts they can’t sell otherwise. She also gets a good brand of dry food to nibble at throughout the day. She’s not one of those dogs who will eat just because it’s there. If she’s hungry she’ll nibble at some but I can put her daily recommended amount in a bowl and she’ll barley eat half of it Along with all that I always put a raw egg in her food My step dad has always been like “you don’t need to do all that for your dog blah blah blah” and I’m like “I want her as healthy as she can.. so yes I am” She’s just over 1 now, and she’s never had any problems with her except for trying to get rid of her fleas for good and flies biting her ears -.- which I heal up in a day or so, I just have to prevent it

    • Crystal xoxox Try adding Apple Cider Vinegar to her diet, it helps prevent fleas. Mine never had any fleas, and I don’t put any flea or tick prevention on her either, only give her monthly heartworm prevention and that’s it. I do spray her down with a mixture of Apple Cider Vinegar + water + few drops of lavender oil everyday before we go out for walks. And during tick season I also put few drop of Rose Geranium Essential Oil on her collar and tail area which does the trick to deter ticks and flies etc (but gotta becareful of bees)

    • Crystal xoxox I just add a teaspoon of organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar into her daily dinner mince mix, she weights 33kg, so you might want to modify the amount based on your dog’s weight. As for the spray, I mix 50:50 Apple cider vinegar and water into a spray bottle, and then add 8-10 drops of lavender oil, shake well to mix and spray when needed (usually before going out for walks)

    • Raw food makes certain dogs sick, they can get salmonella and you can get it from them . Companies like this are really for dogs closest to wolves like huskies but in most cases you should cook the meat if don’t want to risk infection

  • Hi there! I first heard about raw feeding from you and then started my own browsing. After coming out of a pancreatitis-induced coma in March, my 11 yo beagle was put on lifetime diet of low-fiber & low-fat vet-grade kibble. After the scare we obliged but I decided this can't be his life...he was lethargic, his coat was dull and shedding like crazy, etc. We found our perfect raw food (Natural Instinct Special Diet) after consulting with his vet (they had to go do their own research having never had owners asking for such a "drastic" dietary change...) Luckily we have a growing raw feeding veterenary society here, in the UK, and the information and great human-grade raw dog food options are growing. I was really afraid about switching especially since his pancreatitis flares are life-threatening and we had no idea how it would work for him. 2 months in... It's amazing!!!! As i said, he's 11 now and he has the energy of a 2 year old, for the first time in his life he isn't losing his hair anymore (used to be unmanageable), he sleeps well, and he loves his food.     • Maybe look for some cheaper alternatives. I heard of a raw meat pet brand that was $89 a month. You could even look for even cheaper and possibly even better for your dog. Just research before you jump into it though.

    • If you know what you are doing you can BARF cheaper than premium dry food. Some example for my 10kg dog: 90g beef, 50g rumen, 10g fat, 40g liver, 40g fleshy bones plus 60g fruit mix. Extra time per day less than 5 minutes + 30 minutes per week to prepare the rations for the week including cleaning up.

  • Thank you for referring us to the Netflix documentary! What a eye opener! We are just following what our parents feed our pets growing up! I am wanting to give my 3 dogs the best life possible! Honestly I don’t expect my dogs to eat anything I wouldn’t. I started cooking for them with the kibble and canned food, just because I personally wouldn’t want to eat the same thing everyday! I love chicken piccata but I wouldn’t eat it everyday! But I am measuring the cost of feeding the 3 dogs better dog food with cooked human food compared to a raw diet. Unfortunately not everyone can afford a raw diet but I would like to at least try. Nothing would make me happier than provide a better quality of life for my fur babies! Thank you for the video and I will continue to research this more.

  • Good for you, so happy for you! I have a 55lb husky who I switched to raw 2 years ago and he thrives on it. With statistics now of 1 in 2 dogs who get cancer, I’ll never go back to kibble. I only pay around $100 a month on raw food, but I buy premade commercial raw food. If I bought my own organs, meat & bone I know I’d pay much less. It’s so adorable to feed raw, the benefits are incredible, I haven’t seen a vet in 2 years for any issues. He’s stronger, happier, healthier. Why have a dog if we won’t treat them as our children?

  • We fed our German Shepard raw chicken quarters 1-2 times a day (depending on amount given or money situation). And Once every week or 2 weeks we gave he a mix of chicken gizzards and liver and 2-3 eggs. We got the chicken from our grocery store nothing fancy just the cheap chicken quarters.

    • I think you misunderstand, they feed their GSD raw chicken quarters from the butcher because it's good for their dog. If done properly it's exactly the same product the website would offer, only cheaper.
