  • Awesome! That diff should hold up fine. If you were throwing a ton of torque at it then no but more hp than torque it should be fine! Dude you absolutely must do rear track kit!! The only way your gonna get anywhere in the snow. I remember your first couple tests with this car in the snow. Lol

    @theirishaxe9405@theirishaxe94052 жыл бұрын
    • Remember its grip that kills your diff. Concrete your wheels to the ground and even a stock car will break

      @janeblogs324@janeblogs3242 жыл бұрын
  • Firstly, Ur work inspires me!! Secondly I have some questions. The Diff inside the CRV casing runs in oil how do you get it to live open without oil? Also, you welded hardened parts. Do you feel that will hold and also the hardness hasn't changed? I ask out of curiosity. Thank you for doing this and sharing it with us so we can all learn

  • Let me rephrase, it's not that I don't understand, it's that I think you don't :-D Here's the scenarios: 1. Open: Good for getting groceries, turning around in carparks, normal driving on freeway, etc. 2. Locked: Good for skids/burnouts/drifting, off road (sometimes), drag racing, and that's about it (unless you put excess rear sway bar in place to make it lift the inside rear during cornering) 3. LSD: Good all the time, for all of the above, except extreme off roading and extreme skids, but sometimes even good for those, if tight enough. AND good for hard driving on track or twisty country roads which neither open or locked are good for. Basically, this is going to now drive fine around town, do good drifts/skids/burnouts, but suck on the track when you're trying to go fast and control this SWB vehicle. My 2c.

  • Amazing work. Would a solenoid work to lock the differential with the push of a button?

    @nothingtoseehere4026@nothingtoseehere40262 жыл бұрын
    • I think it would be hard. I'm not an expert but it looks like the the 'bolt' that's locks the differential is rotating together with the sprocket/axle. Maybe Viny has an idea. Would be cool to lock the differential from the driver's seat.

      @larsvanwieringen1336@larsvanwieringen13362 жыл бұрын
    • don't think you want to have those teeth mesh together while not oriented correctly...that's would be the death of that diff housing and gear.

      @maxpat82@maxpat822 жыл бұрын
  • Did the gear oil warm up and then seep out along the axle splines or was there more sealing done for the axles? I think usually the axles are sealed with a seal that fits into the housing, which you no longer have, so curious if the swap from gear oil to grease is enough to contain it? I contemplate stealing the idea except the locking part for an electric go kart...

    @jdchmiel@jdchmiel10 ай бұрын
    • You have to seal it real good! I had pin hole in the new case I made and the grease, cause of the centrifugal force went through! Nothing to worry me, since the car is only driving about 100km per year 😅

    @AlanDavid1955@AlanDavid19552 жыл бұрын
    • Depends on the size of the dune buggy battery. If it starts the Busa engine with the dune buggy battery, you should be good! But if it's hesitating, you should go bigger!

Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes; truly, I say to you, he will gird himself and have them sit at table, and he will come and serve them. If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants!”
