    • Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Stiffness around the knee cap is normal and you should practice patellar mobilizations to help with the mobility. With more practice on these strategies your walking will start to feel more normal. Wishing you the best of luck in your recovery!!

  • Dr Mike, regarding footwear, are flat bottom shoes/trainers better than footwear with a raised heel? i am 10 weeks post TKR and looking for the best footwear to use, also i have noticed when i walk my toes have a natural tendency to point outwards, i am trying to walk with the toes pointing straight ahead but find i can only do this if i'm conscious doing it, Many Thanks.

    • Thanks for watching this one and for taking the time to comment here! Great question! My recommendation is to find footwear that have a wide toe box, are flexible, and have a thin sole. This will allow your feet to naturally spread when your foot hits the ground and can give your calf muscles the proper amount of stretch when walking after TKR! I discuss the benefits of minimalist shoes in some of my other videos! I’ll post the link below for you to watch! Great question! kzhead.info/sun/Y7iepJelgXmOZJE/bejne.htmlsi=60-Erqn3F4RGNKvf

  • I'm 44 days post-op and I'm really getting impatient with myself. I'm at 118 degrees and my PT is happy with that. However ,I'm ready to start putting some weight on my leg. Is it too soon for me to do this particular exercise?

    • What recommendations can you give for someone who's been wheelchair bound for 3 yrs, TKR on both knees, w/ one reversal. The knees are straighten when stretching , yet when doing sit/stand to prepare for transitioning from the wheelchair to walking, there's a slight bend n tightness in the knee☹️

      @itsmemyselfi1323@itsmemyselfi13237 күн бұрын
    • @@itsmemyselfi1323 I’m in the same boat with the bend, but I’m just focusing on keeping straight when sleeping walking as normal as possible, stretches
