A cowboy comes out of the saloon and sees a man sitting in the middle of the street, fishing in a bucket. He goes up to the man and asks: "caught many?" And the man answers: "Yeah, you're the third!"
LOL!!
Good one! 🤣
🤪😜😄🤣
@Number 1 Western Fan depend how long he's been there.
Hahaha
When I herd your herring joke, I just started floundering. 😂 🐠
I put it in for the halibut.
🤦♂️
No kelp on earth can save the video after that joke.
@@eldorados_lost_searcher LOL!
Dear lord, y'all are gonna give me a haddock.
My favorite fishing picture is the bear standing in a river with his mouth open. That's my kind of fishin' right there !!
LOL!
I'm English but I just love learning about the old West. It's one thing that excites me.. Not much in life excites me. I don't know why I get nostalgia from the Old West cause I was not there. Although I could have been reincarnated. I have American roots though.. My grandfather was American, although he went back to American and was never seen again after my father was conceived. He was a black soldier over here in 1944.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing.
Hi Adam...I am also English.....John's videos are great.
Do you know what state he returned to?
@@jalanit123 I have no idea.. I know he was stationed in Glasgow Scotland, or close by. He probably had no idea that the woman he was with that night fell pregnant. My father's mother put my father in an orphanage.. Or her parents did
I just realised I wrote routes instead of roots lol.. Nobody flagged it up 😁
We have tons of fishing here in AZ santee! Not so much down near you in the southern part of the state but the salt river valley is some excellent fishing territory, both on the lakes and the river itself. Neat trivia fact: the salt river is the ONLY year round trout fishery located in a desert! The water is 65°F the whole year, so the trout love it
Very cool! I had to make a desert joke, though.
@@ArizonaGhostriders hahah I get it, just suprises me when I travel how many people out there have no clue that we have world class hunting and fishing here in AZ
Always Remember "A bad day of fishing beats a good day at the office"
So it is said.
Good job Santee you hooked me on to this channel and reeled me into this video
LOL! Thanks.
Fishing is a classic activity in gaming.
Seems so!
I'll bet all the fish in Arizona are a little paranoid today. All three of them. Best of Days to all the Ghostriders.
HAHA!
"A bad day of fisimg always beats a good day at work" my dad circa 1978
HA!
When the railroads were established the Department of the Interior had railcars for transporting love fish. For citizens to introduce to streams and lakes.
I read about converted cars, but not cars made for fish transport until 1881.
I enjoy fishing but haven't been in quite some time. I did stock the pond out behind the Saloon this spring, I'll have to break out a pole here soon and see how they're doing. Great video Santee!
Awesome!
Your wife is a true voice artist!!
HA! Don't tell HER that.
What do you call a happy cowboy? A jolly rancher.
HAAH!
Made me think of the scene from how the West Was Won. Caught him once back in ............ Love to throw a fly out there. Great one. Keep them coming 🤠👍
Thank You!
I love fishing! And I’m glad I know a bit more about how our Old West brethren did it as well! Great video!
Thank You!
Santee, you did it again. A subject I never thought I'd be interested in held my interest, and I learned in the process. I love your videos, timely pics, and amusing play on words. a super video, as always 👏🤠👏 🐟 🎣
I'm not all that interested in it, either. I appreciate ya!
0:17 Oh boy...🙄 Lol We're gonna need a segment on cheesy puns, and dad jokes, in the old west. I recently watched the episode of Rawhide, where they were transporting the Shad Fish out west. Great upload Santee!🍻👍
Classic. They did? I never saw that episode!
@@ArizonaGhostriders Season 4 Episode 9 "The Little Fishes". 😉
I bet the old song "Raw Hide" could be used to describe the cross country transit of fish on the railroad!?
Thanks for making all this great content about the old west. You guys are the best.
Our pleasure!
Sweet! Hey... Goodyear true story lol... One calm day about 20 years ago I was flying a small plane close to Atlanta, GA, and the air traffic controller had a puzzle on his radar... He asked me to identify a rather large aircraft just outside of his airspace off of my left wing which he could not identify (my 2nd of at least 3 UAPs)... It was a Goodyear blimp! Yes, they never tire lol! Years later I fueled a few of them at Donaldson in Greenville, SC, and learned that there are more astronauts than blimp pilots. Also! I live a few miles from a great fishin’ lake and get in a rod and reel every chance I get!
Very nice!
Thank you, you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for an episode on fishing
Enjoy
First. Now that I've planted the flag, i would like to thank myself for making this possible. My procrastination of daily chores, my endurance to take a 30m #2, my technological addiction that means I'm never without my phone. Last night, i almost didn't bring my phone charger into the bedroom. Looking back, that could have delayed or more likely, ruined this moment of sublime gratification. I feel like the youtube first-er version of batman, who, with enough prep time, can overcome any obstacle. In closing, thank you for these videos.
😀
Santee,we need a video on pistol and rifle marksmanship, how they learned, what they use to learn, and any special techniques that set them to be good marksman!
Thanks for the request!
Good morning Santee I haven't fished in years.. I remember as a kid dad waking me up early and we'd load the boat up and go out fishing for the day usually deep sea but dad loved game fishing so we'd do that alot. Funny story I was pretty young and dad tells me to throw out the fish after a long day. Me been young as didn't think it through and didn't realize he ment thrown out the bait we no longer needed lol. So I went to the fish bin and threw every single fish over the side of the boat we'd caught that day. To say dad was upset and angry is putting it lightly 😂😂 i was not allowed out again all week. Good times and great memories. It's cool that in the old west they to enjoyed the peace or art of fishing it's definitely relaxing. Nice jokes along the way mate lol.
Thank you very much, my friend!
I love fishing! The scourge of Tucson is hard of herring! 😂
You got that right!
Here in Virginia, our political season kicks off with a Shad Planking festival (kind of like a pescatarian bbq) down by the James River where all the state candidates come out to meet-and-greet the electorate.
Interesting
Ouch that first joke gave me a haddock! Good one.
HAHA!
Oh, my gosh, my son in law and my youngest son are addicted to fishing. We all go Salmon fishing in Gold Beach, Oregon once a year and the boys will try to fish in a mud puddle if necessary just to fish! When I was a child in Ohio, we would tie a string to a stick, tie on a hook with a worm and sit for hours on a river bank. Sometimes we actual caught a fish. Good video! As always.
Thank you.
Santee, when I first came across your channel, I was a turned off by the jokes, but I stuck around due to the information. I appreciate the humor now, and the content is still terrific!
The puns grow on you. Sad but true. Thanks.
You know why they call me 007 when I fish 0 bites 0 catches 7 beers
LOL!
Another excellent video santee!! It's good to see these videos on so many topics, although fishing was mentioned in the diaries before he ran away, its was described as a fun time diving and catching fish an catching the fish by hand with his brothers and community and the local natives, which wasn't so hard, but it was a profitable adventure also, finding little gold nuggets and hiding the gold nuggets inside the fish in able to sneak the pieces of gold into the garrison and use as bribery to the guards to turn a blind eye while the brothers did what they did. The boy described many times he went out and meet the local tribe and other garrison soliders drinking what was described as a hooch made by the soldiers. The other time was when he and the dog were hungry and went diving in a river and finding a fish for dinner. I really like these videos, it's much appreciated.
Thank You! Cool info
FYI - In South Carolina, there is lake named "Santee Cooper"! So fishing has to run in your family!
Oh wow!
Also Santee River
I think the only reason Mrs. Santee doesn't have her own KZhead channel is because she would get more subscribers than Santee. As a kid I used to go beach fishing with my late father. This was during winter and there were times it was so cold we had snow on the beach. Seeing the beach, which you associate with some holidays, covered with snow can make the mind boggle somewhat. They have fishing in Skyrim now. Though avoiding the bandits, wolves and sabre cats, not to mention the dragons, can be rather distracting.
I played Skyrim. Great open world.
Nice episode. I like to go fishing too. I tend to use the easier methods like fly fishing. I also try simple hand lines from time to time. In my neck of the woods it´s often better to avoid getting close to other fishermen. They really hate it when "the fish don´t bite" and you get to play the fish after the first few casts.
HAHAH! I bet. When we surf fished the seagulls would take them from us.
The most Wild West name for a fish I know, is Cutthroat Trout. It's native to a large part of the interior west, including your neighbouring states of New Mexico and Utah. It's mainly in the Rockies, between the Plains and the desert.
It's common, that's for sure.
Yay!!! I've been waiting a long time for this one thanks for the informative videos as always
You are so welcome!
Santee. These just keep gettin' better and Better. I wouldn't miss an exciting, action-free episode! - Sourdoh
Thanks very much, Sourdoh!
Nice story, I never get tired hearing about them. I go fishing , playing go fish the card game. Thank you for sharing another wonderful show with us.
Thanks for listening
It also should be noted that in some fishing milieus one could run into an angry bear who considers it is his private fishin hole.
Oh yeah!!!
Pew pew pew back at ya, I think of stormtroopers every time👍🤣 .
LOL!
Thank you. I start my Saturday mornings watching your videos.
Wonderful!
This was pretty fishy but you scaled the request with your tail. Really loved how this swam
HAHA! Thanks.
Great video! My favorite fish is the filet-o- which I usually catch at Mickey Dee's. -Desert Rat Rick
I get that.
I *love* the Arizona river cane - I'm not a botanist, so I don't know the proper name - but... 😏 It's pretty cool stuff. The things I have made from the Arizona cane... it's like natural Legos, the pieces kind of fit into each other with a little bit of work. And that includes fishing poles.
Nice. I have had that Saguaro rib going on ten years. Gonna have to do something with it one day...
I appreciate the amount of research you do to make each episode interesting. Good job.
Thank you. I often have to read books from 1883 or some time. It gets tedious.
I was raised to fish. I really enjoyed this!
Thank you. It was a lot of research. I knew very little about fly fishing...now I know too much!
Thanks again Santee & CO. The fishing scene in Jeremiah Johnson . Paints His Shirts Red says you fish poorly .
Darn I forgot!
Another awesome episode

HA
Ok so lets wet a line and follow the AGR logo from hanging salmon to dugout canoe... Enjoyed this one as a Michigan man too many places to fish..well done AGR team !!!

Great subject and very informative. I am a believer of giving man fish. You will keep him alive for a day. But if you tied the same man up and threw him in the water. he'll never go hungry again.
Good point! LOL!
Thanks for the info santee I find fishing to be relaxing yet it takes alot of patience since fish nowadays are abit expensive to buy, especially salmon
Yup!
When I was younger and lived up in Northern California we used to go fishing. There we mostly had trout and catfish. But it was always fun when you caught a fish even if you had to throw it back cuz it was too little. Those were good times and good days. Thanks for this information it's very helpful more than you know. 🤠🤠🤠
Much appreciated.
Probably my favorite video so far! 🤩
Thanks.
I was fortunate to fish in Lake Pleasant several times while visiting family in Peoria AZ. We fished at night from a boat, caught a lot of Striped Bass. Tasted so good. Lots of people don't know about the great hunting and fishing in AZ. Thanks for sharing this video with us Santee. Stan in Idaho
You're welcome. Appreciate ya
Salty herring with onions, you can wake me up for that! Add a beer... Good to be Dutch 🇳🇱🌷 ;-) Greets, T.
HA!
I live in the mountains of northern Georgia. After the Chattahoochee settles down from this last line of storms, I think I will go see if I can hook a trout or three.
Cool
Another lesson Santee! So much in it that 🎣 fishing I hever knew about! Thanks amigos!
You bet!
Silverbell, Kennedy, Sahuarita, Rose Canyon, Bartlett, Roosevelt, Pleasant lake... all around you are some lakes to fish down there.
Yeah, but then the joke wouldn't have worked.
@@ArizonaGhostriders 😂 I missed it the first viewing.
I liked your herring pun. It was a reel funny line. It shows you're a leader in Toutube videos, ans why so many of us are hooked on your channel.
Well, at least I don't flounder around feeling fillet of myself.
Thank you Santee.

great fish story well editted

I love yer vids Santee, I kin hardly wait fer Saturday some weeks... Still waiting to hear about snow removal in the ole west though... {blink blink, wink wink, smile smile}
Yeah...I'm waiting to find out about it!
I LOVE Bluegills, trouble is you have to catch so many of them, a hundred or so, to make a good meal...
I bet.
Great video Santee, keep up the amazing work you do :) Yeehaww...
Thanks, you too!
I do believe that Ishi made a cameo. Keep on keeping on y'all
Thanks.
Another great episode! Love that you referenced Red Dead.
Thank You!
But what about dynamite fishing? 😜 Seriously though, here in WV, when my dad was a boy he used to go ice fishing on a creek. He and his friends would cut a hole in the ice. A few boys would be at the hole with a net. Upstream another boy would stand looking through the ice. When he saw a fish, he'd hit the ice with a hammer. The fish would be stunned and float to the hole, where it would get caught. After they caught a few the boys would clean and dry them up..
Bill Brazelton did the dynamite fishing in this episode. You miss it? 2:44 Interesting, then would that be called "hammer fishing?"
Weeeellll, Mr. Santee, It t'would 'ppear that, as per usual, you had a "Had-dock" of a good time fishin' for and castin' this Video to your con-stituents!!
You got that right!
Hey Santee, amazing and funny as always! 😍 😍 Can you do one on the actual "time frame" of the Old West? When it started, when it actually ended - when it was the wildest etc. That would be awesome! 😍 Thank you and keep up the great work!
Great suggestion!
Thank you so much for sharing your good video looking My friend 👍🤝👏👌😀💯

whatever do you call an underwater bartender’s spouse? an alewife! …yes, that’s a fish. i have tried fishing a dozen times and only caught myself…that old joke about catching your trousers is painfully true, especially when it bounces off of a rock and hits you in the leg 😳
Cool into!

thanks Santee incase you were fishing for a complement.... great job. maybe next time you could mention our Arizona state fish the Apache trout.

Aren't we having pun today! Great episode Santee. Always informative. Thanks!
You're welcome.
A well deserved pew...pew, pew pew! 😃 My favorite freshwater fish is Bluegill. You have to learn how to eat them though. Lots of little bones to get around after you fry them up. They're really too small to get a decent filet out of.
Yum
🦈 You're gonna need a bigger boat
HAHA!
Some of my best fishing was done with the muzzleloader, as long as the water isn't too deep same effect as Dynamite, the stream was full of suckers and I had large Oscars at home that loved live fish and crawdads
Hey, that's pretty neat!
I learned something valuable! They needed kayaks!
Whatever works!
1:20 Lookit Santeen!
HA!
Stripped Bass were also transported from the East coast to the San Francisco Bay by train car.
Since they were striped, I wonder if they went to Alcatraz first?
Verde River has some nice places to fish and I believe it is stocked with trout once or twice a year. I think I fished a section of Fossil Creek and tried Clear Creek as well as other small streams and of course the big reservoirs. But fishing the West could take you to some places in Colorado. I would like to try the Snake some day. I wouldn't try the dynamite at Page Springs Hatchery. He might find a pair of goofy blondes to go swimming there unless Ford and Fonda already pick them up. Need to watch that again.
Thanks! Funny.
Never failing to entertain us!
Thanks.
You've got to get that herring joke outta ya system, man :P
