Amazingly independant baby Puff Adders, only a couple of days old, carbon copies of the adults. Such a pleasure to be able to give them freedom in a safe natural environment where they belong.
These Snakes are amazing ambush predators, feared throughout Africa because of their potent and very damaging venom. But when treated gently and with respect, you see that they just want to avoid confrontation and be left in peace.
