Asna Tabassum’s classmates in the School of Engineering were proud to share the moment with the valedictorian after they say she was unfairly silenced by USC. Tracey Leong reports for the NBC4 News on May 10, 2024.

My fear is that these “organizations who complained about her social media” might blacklist her in a number of ways unbeknownst to her when it comes to future employment, promotions, grants, interviews, monies or funding for future scholarly work, various things she’s not quite thinking about yet. Her being silenced at commencement is just one piece. There might be a file or record kept on her by these “organizations” that will last a long time. I’m also scared the FBI probably is monitoring her.
