Wow! The ecoflow is better in every possible way including it's cheaper! As a person who buys only Ryobi battery tools I'm disappointed in their quality and their false advertising. The ecoflow delivered a little more than advertised and the Ryobi delivered quite a bit less than advertised and the Ryobi is more expensive. Thank you for the good testing.
I definitely like Ryobi products, but when it comes to a power station, especially this one, it’s just doesn’t compare
ryobi is a lot cheaper in australia ecoflo is almost double in price
@@TechMadeEzy Right! You compare job site tool with camping device. I wish to see drop test and weight comparison. If device allow you to overload outlet for long time it's bad thing not an advantage. BTW Ryobi charging port is a typical for charger for PEV like scooter's and unicycles.
I am a loyal Ryobi tool guy but not everything they make is worth buying. In this area, I'd buy the Anker C1000. Ryobi is way prettier in my opinion.
@dupre7416 the anker is nice 👍🏼

Great video. Kind of hard to beat the EcoFlow. I just purchased the Delta 2 during prime day at a phenomenal price of $679. I think that this is a game changer for using around the house for yard work and other projects. It powered my 15 amp skill saw without skipping a beat. So much easier trimming the hedges without having to lug a 100 ft extension cord.
Wow $679? Seriously that’s a great deal
Same here been loving it 🥰
$649 on black Friday and it included their wet weather bag. The LFP (LiFePO4) battery in the Delta 2 sets it apart from others, even other Ecoflow batteries.
It’s currently being sold for $650
@brittgayle467 you buy one at that price ?
Thanks for the video. I have an EcoFlow Delta 2 Max and the Delta 2 Max smart battery. During the black Fri sales I'll be adding a second smart battery. Love the EcoFlow.
Thank you and don’t forget we post sales on products so make sure you check out or feed and make sure your notifications are on. Thanks again. Have a great day.
Nice vid. Thanks 👍
FYI, the Ecoflow is now $350.00 off for $640.00! I own the Delta 2, great results. I also have 2 Bluetti Eb3A 600w. In testing their max wattage, I noticed the Bluetti dropped the voltage from 117 to 110. A little trick in order to handle the current, I suppose. Thanks for a great video!
I learned pretty quickly with my ECO Flo that it can only put out so much amperage. You will notice running 2 small heaters at once it will run them, but the heat output from the 2 heaters won’t be so hot. I love my Bluetti Power Station but my ECO Flow is hands down my favorite 😍. Mine is 1612 Watts and it is hands down amazing 🤩! When I started a couple years ago in solar and a power station I went Bluetti. If I knew what I knew now? I’d have gone ECO Flow all the way! The features, durability and reliability are just the best in my eyes 👀. ❤ Thanks for the video and comparison. ❤ to your beautiful doggie 🐶.
Thank you
Thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you
The new Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra looks like a beast of a system.
Great video. I charge my 2 delta pros with 800 watts of solar. I use them for emergency power, running extra heaters and window a/c units, jobsite power, RV power, and they qualify for 30% tax credit. Very versatile
Hi Jim thanks buddy 800w is nice
Nice review! Only error is you should've fully charged both products first before testing!Eco still wins in all comparisons!
Good test!👍Impressive Ecoflow!
Thanks 👍
Man I just bought a River Pro 2 with a 220 watt solar pane. Didn’t know Ryobi made one of these before I bought the EcoFlow. The Ryobi would have been cool and I would have returned the EcoFlow if you could have charged Ryobi’s batteries directly off of the unit without have to pull out their clunky charger boxes. Thanks for the video.
I've had a pair of delta pros for 2 years and had good results. The output wattage is a must for seeing how much power is being pulled. You could plug in a cheap meter if needed to the ryobi
Tremendous video!
Thank you
EcoFlow better and cheaper!! Staying with Ecoflow. Thank you so much for bringing these analysis. Really appreciate you. Question, when you did the power test of the heater that the Ecoflow diplayed hrs instead of mins, did you check the app to see if it was correct there? I noticed it went down from 59 to 23 right before you changed the shot but not sure if it changed to mins. (They need to fix that).
Ryobi looks like a toy, and seeing that HUGE power brick made me laugh out loud!!! And what's with the 1980s connector on the end? OMG. An AWESOME and informative video. I have the Delta 2 and love that thing. Took it camping through NJ, NY, and Pennsylvania this summer. Works great. I highly recommend it!
Thanks 🔥
yoshino makes the delta 2 act like a toy
It's like day and night but thanks for putting this together 👍🏻
My pleasure
Yeah I mentioned the wattage 1800w fir three mins on your first review. Just like the 40v version
Yup Not a good business practice
Nice to see Ryobi is making this product. But from everything I've researched, Ecoflo is still the gold standard.
I'd like to see Ryobi improve their unit, they make a ton of amazing products and it would be nice to see a solid power station
What size is the breaker on the Ecoflow? I noticed that the Ryobi has 15amp outlets, and the ecoFlow has 20 amp outlets. This would makes sense with how they are rated. A 15amp outlet is a 1800watt outlet, but you can only use 1600watts for longer than 15 minutes without tripping the breaker. Similarly a 20amp outlet is 2400watts, but you can only use 1920watts for longer than 15minuts or it'll trip. I suspect that difference in approach as far as stated specs between the two companies stems from Ecoflow selling to consumers and ryobi, and its parent company, selling to tradesmen, or aspiring to anyway.
I would really like the ECOFLOW to have more 3 prong plugs. I'd like the configuration to be the reverse (4) 3 prong and (2) 2 orong. Maybe they'll make the change in the future. As always, a fun and informative review.. Good Job..
Thanks Frank
I agree, but you can pick up a 15-amp grounding adapter for a buck, so not the end of the world.
Check out ecoflow delta 2 max
,Ty for the video. The Ecoflow Delta Max 2000 is $1399, the Ecoflow Delta 2, 1024 Wh is $999
You got it
Cleary in this lineup EcoFlow wins. The products are targeting vary different consumers. Ryobi has come out with at least 8 different inverters in the past few years. This inverter has the batteries integrated; but the others use tool batteries, 40 volt or 18 volt. Those products are very interesting as consumers already have the tool batteries for other reasons. Ryobi is targeting a different user and a different use; I expect Ryobi will be around for a few more rounds and will see more improvements. I would like to see Ryobi integrate all the batteries styles into one inverter, that is exapandable, wall mountable, and also has storage, solar and charging capabilities for the batteries. I use the Ryobi tools. I have a couple of the smaller Ryobi inverters, which come in handy for a light, fan or running the cable modem in a power outage. I got my mother an EcoFlow, for power outages. Given Ryobi's experience with power tools; they might win this in the long run.
I'm a huge Ryobi fan but I am very disappointed in their power supply in my mind it falls short in too many ways it's not able to add the one plus bat packs to give assistance cycles blows it out if the water hopefully they improve but it ...but it has to be a huge improvement..
Coolers have wheels now, get the hint companies. Lithium iron phosphate for the win, imo.
Wattage stress test: Ryobi--"You're killing me!" Ecoflow--"That's all you got?"
While the Ryobi doesn't display output watts, it does have a bar graph and percentage. You didn't say that is does that.
Wondering what your source was for stating (@11:10) Lithium Ion NMC 500/800 duty cycles? That sounded a little low so I googled the search terms (lithium ion nmc duty cycle) to find: "Lithium-ion NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) batteries have an expected cycle life of 2,000-2,500 cycles,".
Ryobi didn’t state it, even in the manual but I can tell you from experience even the original Delta was around 500 max 800 cycles.
Wow, the prices are something else again. I can build 4 to 6 30 A-hr. battery boxes w/volt. meter, usb, 12v plug, and small inverter in plastic ammo cans for that. Just power them off 110 charger/12 volt charger, generator or solar(preferred).
Sorry for the loss of your fur-baby. Brooklyn looks just like my Boomer dog. I like the format of the Ryobi. My compaint on the EcoFlow's is and always has been the stupid cable sticking out of the side. I literally can't use it in most of my use cases because of that thing. The stackable parallel-ability and format are much more convenient.
Thanks buddy
👍
No sleep till Brooklyn! Nice video
Thanks
19:49 Was the Ryobi 24lbs including or excluding the external power supply?
Hi The Weight is only the power station
I have a question the fan in the back of the Ryobi aren’t you restricting it during your test since you have the Ryobi against your cabinets ? Is that why the fan so loud ?
No, still plenty of room.
Avoid the Ryobi unless you enjoy throwing $ in the bin. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Ryobi overrates the wattage on all their inverters. I knew this was the case on this too. The manual for the 40v "power station" states what the actual wattage is in the manual - 1600w. This is also the case with the 800w 18v inverter - 600w in the manual.
Better to be upfront and truthful
EcoFlow all day!!
Can the 12v dc output contact handle the load of a cupé heater that needs 150watts?
Hi I'm not sure, check with EcoFlow to be safe please Support@ecoflow.com
how long will eco flow power a dometic cooler before it would need to be charged on a 4 day camping trip
Would need actual wattage and surge wattage to try and help answer
can I plug a car cooler fridge with a typical 12v cord into that back 12v input or is it just for charging the Ecoflow
The ecoflow car charger port is an output so you can plug in a 12v car charge adapter to power devices, I believe it powers around 100w max maybe a drop more.
The test I would like to see . Is can these chargers run a 1500w microwave. It would be a game changer,on my work truck. And work day. To heat breakfast, and lunch. Total of 10 minutes.
Hi Charles, here’s a video I think might help you especially wanting to run a high-powered device like a microwave. Take a look at this video. I probably would recommend the Delta Max. This is a great power station. They did come out with a newer model, but it actually cost a lot more and they both are very similar except for the battery technology, I’ll give you another link on the bottom if you want to check out the Delta 2 max but check out this comparison I really believe the Delta max would be great for you and it’s also expandable down the road Delta comparison EcoFlow Delta Power Stations Detailed Comparison solar generator kzhead.info/sun/lLF9fbVpqIJtjK8/bejne.html Delta 2 max video kzhead.info/sun/aa6fntR5i6J5ko0/bejne.htmlsi=8oYvPiS1I22e7HfQ

The fans on the RYOBI sounds like it's in pain and dying. LOL. Would like to see the ECOFLOW Delta 2 vs the AllPowers R 1500 or R 2500 or the Pecron E1500 LFP
Can't you also plug the Eco Flow into a gas generator to charge? Cause I've done it and it charged up without any problem.
Yes just make sure it has a pure sine wave outlet 👍🏻
@@TechMadeEzy , thanks for the info. That puts a crimp in recharging capabilities. Never thought about that. What kind of damage could it do? I only ever did it once when we had a power outage and thought how great this was.
I really am not sure you’d have to contact the manufacturer specifically, but better to be safe than sorry
If a battery sits and not needed for long periods. Lets say six months before you need it. Does maintenance charging to keep battery's charged count as a cycle?
Yes if you go 0% to 100% yes But definitely use the manual and follow the manufacturers guidelines
@@TechMadeEzy I don't think you understood the question. Battery is down to 50% The sun comes out in the morning and recharge the battery back to 100%. Does that count as 1 cycle. leave 0 to 100% out the conversation.
@@TechMadeEzy I own a tesla. no matter how far the des-charge has gone before you recharge it, 20% to 80% one cycle. 50% to 80% one cycle. That is the real truth. You guys are not being honest with the public about this.
To be fair, you missed mentioning that going parallel not only double the capacity, but also the power output of the RYOBIs... whereas, adding an extra battery to the ecoflow systems only doubles capacity. So at that point you're comparing a 3200 watt station against an 1800 watt.
Could you charge the batteries with the inverter?
Not sure I understand, ask again
often times, the ecoflow goes on sale for around $700 or even better, which makes the ryobi at $1200 not make any sense. The Ecoflow Delta2 has USB-PD 100W vs Ryobi's USB-PD 60W 1800W AC running vs 1600W AC running conservatively 3000 cycles vs 500 Solar charging, higher AC input charging its not even close...
I thought you were going to write out the side by side specs here. Anyway thanks for watching 👍🏼 Much appreciated
I have the 40v one with 7 batteries that came bundled with my tools. I could make a case for the tool batteries being used, but this standalone doesnt really make sense.@@TechMadeEzy
Thanks, just disappointed that they hide the 1600w, not on the box or the website, did you see that in the video?
Yea, its very deceptive. the 40v and i believe the 18v models also have the same continuous 1600w and 1800w surge stat. its very dissapointing. your testing definitely backs this up in the video@@TechMadeEzy
can either of them charge via the USB-c port? I know it sounds silly but i have a power system that dose not do full sine wave but the USB-c is nice and solid output so i was wondering if it was possible to charge either of those that way (i know it would be insanely slow) I am more thinking of for an extender with something I have that i found out after buying that it was not a pure sine wave ac.. so i use it mostly for USB and such
Hi, None of them
You can charge the River 2 via USB-C. I don't know about the Deltas as I don't own one yet.
@DjbriancUs yeah I love that, not the delta 2. I think it’s because the battery is so much bigger.
My guess at the start was, that knowing the companies that produce these, either Ryobi is a borderline scam again, or Ecoflow deliwers so much over what they promise that you turn it into a watchbait. Turns out. Both. Both were correct. I guess Ryobi may win at being more dust or impact resistant? It sure looks the part. But. Maybe not. I'm not mistreating my delightful Ecoflow river thingy to find out if it is. The plastic feels okay but can't imagine it being brought to a construction site without a protective case.
Thumbs up for the love of Brooklyn ❤
Thanks
Ryobi it's look fine, but ecoflow it is espectacular battery.
Did I miss the solar part?? Does the Ryobi take solar charging?
No solar for this model
@@TechMadeEzy what garbage lol
I hear some other models they make do, the ones that actually take the batteries that you have to put on the side of the unit
@@TechMadeEzy ya those look awful. But I guess useful to some folk. Thanks!
I was thinking of getting the ecoflow but these things only last for maybe an hour? Honestly seems like a waste of money if that’s all it can do.
It depends on what you connect to the device, led lights, phones, laptop, see this video on the delta for more info NEW EcoFlow DELTA 2 LiFePO4 1800w solar generator kzhead.info/sun/p9qdo62MrnmVgok/bejne.html
EcoFlow seems to be a nightmare for the competition. Which brands get close?
Good question there are many brands out there that are actually doing pretty well.
none
Anker solix
I've got 4 Eco Flows and each has issues. And Eco Flow will not help. BBB rates Eco Flow 'F'. Wonder why?
My Delta mini ALSO has issues. It won't charge from 12v dc 😔
I really like Ryobi products, but this one isn't a winner, especially when it's close to twice the price of the Echoflow on sale. They really need to build the charger into the unit and drop the price. I don't have a big issue with the 1,600 watts. You aren't going to run anything long-term at high wattage on a battery bank, and almost no single 120v aplance draws more than 1600 watts continuously.
That is pretty shady of Ryobi. Thanks for pointing that out.
I was shocked I didn’t even catch this when I did the testing video
There needs to be standardized measurements on all the batteries and all the features. Advertising it as an 1800 W when it tops out at 1600 W should be illegal. Also, all of generator batteries I've seen seem to exaggerate the total capacity. That is, they don't mention that they're going to be energy loss going from DC to AC, or the energy loss when charging from AC to DC. The battery capacity advertised may be correct, but the amount of power that can be used is less than the battery capacity. So, if it says it says 1 kWh of capacity, it really only has about 0.8 kWh of usable battery storage. I have only done AC output on the Ecoflow Delta Pro, so I don't know how much is lost on direct DC powering or charging.
Can you use 2 units to get 240v?
No it does have the capability but the delta pro does see this video it's a good comparison kzhead.info/sun/lLF9fbVpqIJtjK8/bejne.htmlsi=oiPFFCcesrofo9aZ
So far... EcoFlow and Anker are on my radar. I use Ryobi power tools, but will skip their power station.
I agree. I hope Ryobi comes out with a better power station but I don’t think they really care about that. I think they just want to give their users an option for their batteries.
if money is no object compare yoshino. twice the power/half the weight
Even though. I gotta vote Ryobi. Mainly. Lithium Iron is ok. But I need full power charge.
The lithium Ion batteries in the Ryobi are far superior to the LFP batteries in the Delta. The NMC batteries should last far longer and with less efficiency losses, and much lighter. That is where the value differs. The Delta is better engineered, though quite long in the tooth now. If the Ryobi used the cheaper batteries like the Delta it would likely be closer to $600 MSRP.
what solar panel do I need for each of these?
Did you watch my video? If you did, you would notice the Ryobi doesn’t have a solar option . Delta 2 can handle a 500w panel, here is the video we did on it kzhead.info/sun/p9qdo62MrnmVgok/bejne.htmlsi=tAFF2WV3Kxta2lCL
@@TechMadeEzy thanks! i guess i should watch the whole vid before asking questions LOL
@virgiljohnson4260 it helps us buddy
@@TechMadeEzy your videos are clear and concise! I have another probably stupid question, but are there any generators that will withstand an EMP or will all of them get fried in that situation?
Not that I know of
That's a lot of words to tell which is better.
We do detailed reviews in most cases. Most appreciate it, some don't. We all have choice.
Rybi $900 - I don’t need features I just need power for my campsite
He keeps saying the ryobi has a proprietary charging socket, but it is a standard 5 pin aviation socket. No more proprietary than the xt60i solar connector that is proprietary to ecoflow…
I will just wait for the next version of the Ryobi, 12v and solar charging is too important. The form factor is great!
Agree definitely need solar
I’m shocked it doesn’t have solar. That’s the entire point with these things. I’m disappointed.
The Ryobi appears to be significantly outmatched by the EcoFlow.
I'm hoping they step up I like the brand
Ryobi
Funny, I was just cooking meat and potatoes 😁

Fan noise bother
I believe that gasoline will be easier to come by then electricity!
Solar? When gas runs out or things go south, the sun will be there
On the ecoflow, if you are powering your wifi with it, and you do an update, it kills the wifi and thus the update. There is no pass through either, even though ecoflow swears it has that. If you plug it into the wall and plug a device into it, the battery powers the device not the incoming grid power. And that means when you are using it, the batteries will often require a charge with high speed fan noise that accompanies the battery charge up. There are other gliches as well such as frequent failures where the entire unit just stops working and anything plugged in goes dead. Ask me how I know all this. I've contacted ecoflow service and they have no answers. Just rhetoric. There has to be some brand more reliable than either one of these two. I'm in the market but will only spend my money on a reliable replacement for all my ecoflows which are presently turned off and are merely bricks.
Ecoflow is the winner, but they need to make better ventilation and I want to see a low frequency inverter model.
7:50 2 max has 2x xt in’s.
14:47 2 max has more solar in ability too.
What is presented from Ecoflow looks like a 1+ year old delta max. All new delta max units have 6x 3 prong ac outlets. Looks like this presents an older delta max ..maybe a prototype because delta maxes should also have 6x 3 ac outlet’s.
Although Ecoflow calls ups something different it can ups a electric device like a computer and keep it powered.
The only negative in my experience with ecoflow is customer service..I’ve never had a ryobi power station so I can’t say anything about their stuff.
Yup 👍🏼
Calling a built in power supply an advantage is misleading and a singular point of view. Having an external power supply allows for an easy replacement in case of a failure, where as a built in one requires disassembly. Additionally, the Ryobi states that it can show you output wattage from its app, why is that point not brough up???
The power brick alone is a reason not to buy the Ryobi. I own the Ecoflow and it has been fantastic and gets regular updates over the app from Ecoflow.
Which power station do you have?
@@TechMadeEzy Due to some bad planning I own the Ecoflow Delta Pro and a Delta 2 Max
Those are 2 amazing power stations
I like the design of the ryobi better, but the ecoflow is probably better...the thing is, this is basically ecoflow's only business....where as for Ryobi this is just another product in their lineup.... just saying.
I definitely learned a lot more about Ryobi especially the 18v line up nice bunch of tools and stuff 👍🏼
this is really embarrassing for the ryobi... cant even hit, nevermind hold, the 1800w (which it says it can do for 3 minutes) for even 10 seconds.... ouch. 35:50
And if you check the whole video out, you’ll see that they market the power station at 1800 W but in the manual it says 1600 W
That ryobi is silly...the only benefit is the parallel capability but you can get a Delta 2 Max cheaper...
Ryobi can Never Compare with EcoFlow.. I went to liquidation warehouse for years there are tons of tons Ryobi tools and stuff that many customers returned customers of poor quality..they don't last long.. EcoFlow is built to Last
Ecoflow won at the battery spec.
great video wow that ryobi is a joke
I like the brand I really do but I think they should be truthful and upfront with people
Li-ion. Immediate pass.
Same here, flash fire vs smoke when they die, it's hardly a choice, I choose smoke 😁
What the heck is Ryobi doing ? I feel like thier target customers are people who dont know this market and only know Ryobi products. I have quite a few Ryobi tools but this is Ryobi sogen is a joke
If you think this is joke - look at the specs on the 40v power station.
Ryobi just Lied. deception in advertising, is that really necessary? "oh it is technically true" ah, however it is done with the intent to deceive; hiding the real watts /. That proprietary charge plug has me hesitating even more.
You are one of the few that actually watched that part and understood it. I was disappointed in seeing them do that as a major brand. Thanks for watching, and have a great holiday.
Huge let down from Ryobi! Ecoflow is the complete opposite tbh
This is honestly why I won't buy the big inverter from ryobi, any of them. They're simply overpriced for what they are. Plus it's so much strain on lithium ion batteries used in tools. I'd rather have something a little heavier that's designed for this kind of deep cycle heavy use.
Thank you very much for your video but the echo flow is an awful device it only works for 3 to 5 years and then you might as well throw it in the trash and buy a new one don't waste your money on either of these products buy something that has hot swappable batteries
I can personally speak to EcoFlows Delta as I've had the original one for years and it still works well. I use it to charge my batteries via solar.
