  • Probably because they're tired of hearing how great the GTX 1080 and 1080 ti were.

    • My 1080ti was great until I realized how unpopular it was. COD MW, MW2, and MW3 all have massive bugs that seem exclusive to it. The pixelated shadows in MW were annoying, but the performance bugs in MW2 & 3 are sooo bad I can't play no matter how low the settings are, because it refuses to use my entire card... And the 1080ti is just too un-popular that they never cared to fix it.

  • Just a note for Riley (and just my opinion): Calling it a "delta" lets people who wouldn't normally come across the word learn it in a context that makes sense. Saying it's a $100 delta means that when you're dealing with straight numbers (and not functions etc), "delta" and "difference" are interchangeable, so if they hear it elsewhere, they have a better idea what's actually being said.

    @MindstabThrull@MindstabThrullАй бұрын
    • Delta means change. What are you on about “not functions”? Delta means any finite change.

      @cane870@cane870Ай бұрын
    • @@cane870 I'm not disagreeing :) But when it comes to learning a new term, I have no problem with the approach of "this is what it means in this context" and then expanding it later. A lot of words and phrases in a lot of languages have different ways to use them depending on context, so starting with something simpler (calling a delta the same as a difference, for example) I feel is an acceptable place to start. The reason I took functions out of the equation, so to speak, is because that's when determining the delta and its implications becomes more complicated. No wrong answer here, IMO.

    • because they were really the only good budget cards out there on nividia side lmao nividia does not do budget cards anymore, a 4060 is not even far off from a 1080ti. The cards have become amazing now but only in the 600 and up price tag, like a 4070 super is better then a 3090 but the 60 cards in both 30 and 40 are both just worthless flops. They would not still make them if they had made even one single good budget card in 6 years.

    • @@scaree2496 that is why I said on the nvidia side, because they have no good budget cards. Never said anything about amd, I know they have good budget cards, but if someone wanted nvidia for things like dlss, and drivers, and video enhancement, if you are doing it on a budget really the 16 series was about all that made any sense. The 2060 sucked and was over priced, same with the 3060 and it used even more power and still sucked at its price, then the 4060 that is the best 60 series card yet but even still not a good deal at all for what it costs. So for a budget the 16 series was it for nvidia.

Ofc it depends on your use case/preferences and the price ranges in your region. Current prices of these cards in the UK for example range from £280-330 brand new but I'm currently looking at an RTX 3080 12GB going for £350 on marketplace which is pretty tempting and I've seen a few 3060 12GB cards going fairly cheap too (around £250) on the second hand market. Whichever way you decide I would not be recommending anyone buy an 8GB card in 2024 and if I did then it would probably be the RX 6600 for no more than £200.

But after watching another tech channel give a link to Microsoft's own Website, for a script that removes the LONG FILE NAMES LIMIT from roughly 155-160 - to up to 3000. So as a long time PC user from the old DOS days, that is a bit anal about very long directories & subdirectories, and therefore, always running into trouble with that limit. I'm just struggling to understand why Windows 11 at least, wouldn't have that limit set to 3000 characters automatically. In other words, I am reluctant to use the available script, as there must be some downside to why it wouldn't be on by default. As I'm sure if it was, most image viewers / editors / programs etc would just adapt with an update to be compatible???. My suggestion is a video in more depth (please) as to why this wouldn't be the case - especially in 2024?
