The first one. I remember first playing this and was like "damn, DEATH is the first boss?"

@@iamyournytemare4253 yeah it's not like he cheated during the first fight, my man went head to head with gods damn death and beat the guy. Everyone else is like "Nah we gotta get stronger" Here's Dante being an old fashioned doom slayer and killing everything in hell and absolving souls.
Bro, can u do the same for the Darksider series?
Cleopatra
Just to put into perspective how hardcore this game is: the first boss of the game is Death himself. You refuse to accept your own death, and in so doing you make Death beg and plead for mercy before cutting him in half with his own weapon. Metal as fuck.
Thing is you can’t kill death. Death is the only being to defeat God! He is the ultimate. Everything dies.

Gow, darksiders and many others. I guess there were bigger players in the genre..
Still waiting tho 🤞
@@AbhijeetSingh-tr3tn by the look of your pfp your waiting alright... Waiting for RAGNAROK!
@@smol1211 Yes I'm waiting for Ragnarok but Dante's inferno is still Better than gow 2018 series
I love Dante's voice actor. He sounds so angry at everything, even more than Kratos sometimes. I especially like the screams, because they seem so personal and brutal. Love it.
Graham McTavish is the name of Dante's voice actor. He also voiced Dracula from the Castlevania Netflix series.
Really? That’s awesome. He does amazing work
He's also the first dwarf Bilbo meets in the first Hobbit movie.
He is more desparate. Not like kratos, who doesn't really feel anymore by the 3rd games end
McTavish is an absolute beast of a voice actor!
Damn, Dante is literally using the power of friendship to defeat satan
*Lucifer
Not friendship. Redemption. The reason he was dragged to hell is because he contributed to damnation of all those souls. Freeing those souls was his own redemption.
A game that deserves a Remaster!
Absolutely!
and continue the sequel!
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾yes
Never got to finish it
Not to mention a sequel.
I was NOT expecting Lucifer to have a hog on him like that.
Where do you see the hog?
@@T-h-a-t_G-u-y same place as your hog, my guy.
Watch those sweep-attacks!
The cutscenes are beautiful. Especially for that time.
Oh definitely
Takes money tho
Criminally underrated game. Still to this day has the best voice acting in a video game I've ever played
They way Minos delivered his lines were great but DAMN does Dante's VA give it his all, its incredible.
This is one of those games that deserve a remaster. Not a remake, a remaster.
I love this game, The battle cries of Dante really brings life to his struggle and badassery
Graham McTavish kills any roll he does. So much emotion put into his voice work.
Didn't even realize that's who his voice actor is! And I've met Graham! But now that you mention it, I should've realized it immediately.
Such an underrated game. Definitely deserves a good remaster. Game with hell theme, this is the best out there you looking for.
well i feel the reason for this game to be underrated because it got banned in half of the arab countries and other ones
Fr, my dad played this game and then I tried it out and it is a fun game and can make you feel badass with the moves
@@valyxon6279 its a fun game yeah but this game are not for muslims people because of the christian things and unholy stuff
@@beadroz6475 You should try out Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice! It's basically the same plot, with a celtic woman going into Nordic hell to save her husband's soul. It's fantastic
@@beadroz6475 Imagine to not be able to enjoy a masterpiece because of religion, lol. You do you I guess.
This brought back good memories. This game was truly ahead of it's time!
dude i liked this game too, but it was literally a god of war clone lmao. and gow 3 came shortly after this and was way better
Not to be a dick, God of war 3 came out the same year, and had much better graphics, and Dante Inferno is basically a rip off of God of war to a tea, not really a head of its time. Still a fun game I can’t take anything away from that
@@limesovalemons1483 Because quick time events are exclusive to GOW right? One is a story of vengeance and the other of redemption.
@@rinconusmc okay I was exaggerating, not to a tea and im obviously not talking about the story. But this game not a head of it’s time. Dante has the same charecter spirte jumping and running as Kratos, and this game is closer in Graphics wise to God of war 2 than God of war3. Which this game came out in 2010, same year as God of war 3. And no QTE are not exclusive to God of war. But they are used in the same God of war Does. Overall this is a good game, but I’ll always see it as a lesser version of the God of war games. That’s just me.
@@limesovalemons1483 I see this as a more reasonable assessment
Can we just point out how the first boss is death, meaning there are beings stronger then death.
Dante, a mortal, defeats a host of Godlike beings… which would sort of make sense, being armed with Death’s Scythe and a cross that projects pure holy energy, but… to GET the Scythe, he had to best Death with just a fuckin’ steel halberd. Begs the question of what the fuck HE is.
@@secretskull21 Dante is his alias. His true title is Soldier of God, Rick.

You should try it, you won't regret it. :)
I like how Minos sometimes just slams his fist down in random directions sometimes to show the player that he can't actually see Dante, hence his otherwise wide sweeping attacks.
33:19 - 33:37 , dante's confession , maybe not so long but its the most iconic speech ever in game world.
I heard of this one way back in the day. It never really seemed like my jam but on the off chance I decided to watch this. From the surface it looks like it has quite the cinematic flare. I like how it doesn't shy away from the nudity and gratuitous violence. The voice acting seems good too. I can see why it had quite the fanbase.
You are ignorant of the fact, that this "gratuitous" violence that so much offends you, comes from the source, The Divine Comedy. do you know what it's? it's a book, muppet, by Dante Alighieri.
Damn fighting death itself for the first boss , what a badass
What a magnificent soundtrack... Geez how could I missed a big masterpiece like this?
Most of the Soundtrack was composed by Garry schyman the same guy who did all 3 Bioshock games
No matter what any say... this game was awesome
Lucifer swingin that thang around like a weapon
I will always have a soft spot for Dante inferno. Got this game from a charity shop for about a fiver knew nothing about it and loved every minute of it. Then after completed it looked at the reviews and everyone was saying it was just a clone of god of war. At the time I didn't know what God of war was so got the remastered first 2 on the PS3 now I have completed every god of war game and is now my fav franchise
Fun fact: Dantes Inferno was actually based off of an actual poem written back in the old days. Wish I had more for ya but if you look it up it's a very interesting read
This game deserves a sequel, it was ahead of it's time, now it's timeless
This brings back memories. Played this game on highest difficulty and cheesed everything with the cross. Lmao
Thumbs up for gameplay made for mature audience.
Fantastic game, I remember getting this and BioShock 2 at the same time. Played this first and did not regret it.
Para nada
Este juego junto a gow of war y Mortal kombat deben ser los mas violentos
Woah just took me back!
Two games that's don't deserve the amount of hate they get
I’d like to say thanks bro for bringing back this classic. I enjoyed it while others didn’t
I remember the cgi trailers for this game they were so dope! And I loved the voice of Dante every attack had meaning to it. With the technology they have now imagine what they could do.
I mostly remember the CGI superbowl commercial having bill withers "aint no sunshine" playing.
The superbowl commercial was absolute fire
This game had me hooked from the start until the end. I loved it. One of the best games.
The gameplay is just like the older God of War games, and the story arc is very unique. If I had known about this game sooner I would’ve played it years ago
I like how when Dante is finishing off Cleopatra, it looks like he shoves it into her, but it's actually his sword 💀
We need more games like that, the historical references were so good
this game will forever be an underground gem. it came out my junior year during the summer and it was one of the main reasons I ended up reading the book, mind you that took 3 years to read and understand
The voice acting in this game was amazing.
Glad I had the pleasure of playing this. Remake is needed!
could we appreciate how smooth those combos are, in spite of being tht old game? we need a 2nd game with unreal5
One of my favorite death scenes! No over the top villain. No brotherly betrayal. Just some dude who got the jump on him lol.
Fitting too, as the husband of the woman he blackmailed into sleeping with him.
man i loved this game when it dropped back in the day !!
Definitely one of best adventure straight down to the nine Circles of Hell. It's a shame we never got a Sequel.
Game is such a banger I’ve played it multiple times and would happily play again
I like how there's some unspoken rule that if you go to Hell, you can pick a fight with Lucifer for a trip back.
I love how the second boss just hits the ground and Dante is standing there like🧍🏻♂️
What I love about playing the game is at certain (but what looks like random times). You have to break chains to progress into the game. Yet those are the same chains sealing luficer at the bottom level.
The flawless gameplay makes it even better
This game is so damn awesome. Best depiction of hell I’ve seen not just in video games, but all forms of media. Obviously with the exception of the poem it’s based on lmao
The voice acting is something else! You really feel the emotions :0
IKR? These ones would be worthy of Goty

the man literally slaughters his way through hell for his betrothed, how can you not love this game?
Whoever put this game together did some reading first from Hebrew legends and other stories
I'm so glad I can play this on my series x and it still looks stunning to this day.. I own the death edition, standard edition, guide book, and the 7 inch figure still in his packaging 😁 Ye im a bit of a fan lol and still hopeful that EA will continue the story on.. Me encantan los diálogos en medio combate
It's said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and while this game may share a lot of DNA with God of War, it carves out its own identity through the way it adapts its source material. It may take some wild liberties on the original poem, but it executes them well, and its strong art direction, solid gameplay and amazing sound work make you feel like you're battling through every wretched circle of hell right along with Dante. This game is so underappreciated; a GoW-like it may be at its core, but it's one of the best ones.
Just now discovered this game exists from reddit. I can already say that the voice acting is absolutely phenomenal
This game was such a trip. It had that God of War-esc vibe to it and I honestly loved it despite not knowing a lot about it prior. If we ever get a remake or at least a next gen remaster, I'd buy it in a heartbeat just to reply it once more
I love how the game just starts with death getting “killed” in the first part of the game Like bro, how do you fuck up your job this badly
Great gameplay!! Have a like
Bro you really good at this game
I never played this game but it looks really really good. Sad that it never got a 2. game
Last time I played this game when I was 16 years old....Now I'm soon-to-be 25 this year...Wow oh wow 🥴
Yo the voice acting is so good!
Feels and looks like a 3D Blasphemous. Right on!!!!
Too bad I can't resurrect my PS3, I really want to play this game again
Imagine the Grim Reaper himself begging you for mercy
This is my top 5 favorite games
God damn if i ever wanted a Remake of a game it's this. This would look SPECTACULAR, especially if they didn't hold back on the visuals like they did in this; can you imagine this game with the R18+ rating it DESERVES? And if they keep the combat the same as it is now; oh my god, it would be like being transported back to a golden era. Also, wow i forgot Lucifer's junk was just flopping around in his boss fight.
I loved this game. I am surprised that it didn't get a sequel.
