If you think electric fence wire is bad, try getting a set of old bed springs tangled up in your tracks. Being spring steel, most wire cutting pliars won't touch them. Hammer and a good chisel might. However it's done, it must be cleared away, or you risk tearing out every seal in the final drives. Even less fun to replace those.

Nutria is the size of a beaver at 10-20 lbs + and has straight tail when they swim. Muskrat is 4-6 lbs and has a semi-flat tail that snakes back and forth when they swim. Either way, they are devastating in a pond as they both do the exact same thing: Burrow long tunnels into the banks, including the dam. If not removed, they will eventually collapse the dam. Unfortunately, you can't relocate them.

Every pond I’ve ever seen with an island in it is overgrown with trees and bushes. People may have good intentions to keep it maintained when they put an island in a pond but most people don’t follow through. My neighbor has about a 4 acre pond that the previous owner built. The previous owner built an island in it to give his flock of 10 or so geese a safe place to rest at night. Now the island is so overgrown that the geese probably can’t even get on it and his flock of 10 or so geese has become around 300 if not more. I’ve got 4 ponds totaling around 4 1/2 acres or so and my neighbors geese visit my ponds every day. Large numbers of geese on a body of water for an extended period of time will make your fish taste like goose 💩.
