Just got my 2010 is 250 yesterday. Thanks for this
Glad to help!
great video. loved how detailed the video was.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for this! Did you have HID headlights and are those VLand cases HID? Thanks!
Thanks for these. Gonna get this lights this month
Awesome, glad to help!
Thank you for the detailed instruction! Wonderful job!
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words
Hey, I just got mine installed Friday at a shop and when it was night time I was trying to see if the check light would turn on but it doesn't unless I have my turn signal or 4way flasher. You think it could be the wiring?
This actually looks really easy.
I agree! It wasn't too hard to do, just takes a little bit of time!
very informative video, thank you!
So easy, thanks 👍
Thanks for the video, helped a lot. Had some issues because they sent me the wrong wire connector for the headlights hopefully they resolve it soon.
If you have any questions feel free to ask!
Hi what kind of issues were you having? I’m having the flickering but also something electrical with the lights fired off my transmission solenoids. Took it to a shop they said it was the lights.
Good video very helpful but one problem i ran into when finish was the windows, for it to work again hold each individual window down and up for 5 seconds each to reset it or look up how to reset windows 👏
looks so good dude is there any other head lights just so i can look at a variety of them or are Vland just the best and most popular?
May I ask where did you get your black grill from?
I just order them right now do you mind telling me how long it took you to get them once you ordered them?
Did you replace the hid factory lights?
Just replaced mine with these Vland's and this video was a huge help, thank you! Not sure if its a little different in the ISF but a couple things to add since i have an ISF- 1) make sure to take off the old brackets off the old headlights to the new vlands. this will help the bumper to be more secure. 2) you will now get a flashing AFS light because these lights do not have that function anymore- remove the AFS 7.5 fuse( hpl lvl ). Also i saw a lot of vids that said you need to go into the computer and disable the DRL, however i did not have that problem with the constant flashing with the high beams. I'm not sure if that's because of what fuse we used but didn't have to do this. hope this also helps!
Does removing the fuse clear the flashing afs light?
@@tommychii yes
Did you take out the fuse 10?
Is it possible to change a bulb on the headlight or is it a mono light, the whole light needs to be changed??
You don’t need an 8mm socket to adjust light beam. Stick a long enough Phillips screwdriver on to the sharp teeth looking part and start turning clockwise to go down or counterclockwise to go up.
That will work aswell, thank you!
Great video bro! Have you had any problems with the DRL’s flickering?
How bright are these? My sons wants these for his 09 is250. Thanks
Hello, my factory 2011 lights play up because of the ballast. Will this headlight swap bypass the need for factory ballast right?
Can you give me the link of that mesh grille it looks great
Yo, I followed your video to the T but now my battery won’t stay charged! 😢what could be the problem?
How are you my friend, I have a question, I have a 2003 gx470 can I change the automatic transmission to a manual transmission? What kind of manual transmission? Thank you so much for helping me so much. I don't forget this favor for you. my greetings for you
Hello friend. I haven't seen anyone swap the transmission from automatic to manual with the 4.7 engine since the Toyota Prado 120 comes in a manual overseas it has a different engine connected to it. Due to this I don't think it is possible to pair a manual transmission with a 4.7 engine
How are they holding up? I worry about an Led chip burning out.
I got these on my 350 got a warning message “ check headlight system” not sure what it is everything works fine
just got them installed on my lexus, got a message on the dash saying “check headlight system” with a red triangle light next to it, everything works tho, blinkers work, high beams work, everything works, any idea how to fix this problem???!
Hi, I have a quick question. Did you have any flickering issues? is it better to use a VCI cable and disable the DRL lights or should I buy a resistor to prevent the DRL from flickering?
I didn't have any problems with flickering. Did you make sure to connect the fuse tap to an ignition fuse?
Yea what’s weird on mine is I followed installation to the T and for some reason my DRL Led are on but also a faint flickering of the highbeams are on as well. Only when the car is set for DRL. Idk why it’s on? I believe it’s only suppose to be the LED strip
Question?? Why I didn’t see the extend wire across under the vent with the old lights? I only see it when you install the new lights. It’s because are new model ? Anyone answer me please. Hi from Pennsylvania,,,,
Hi Brother, can you please advise if you have idea about installing the Vland on IS250 Coupe, i brought one and the body shop said it's totally different ? thank you so much
It should be the same bro, same process, if I’m not wrong all is chasis are identical
Everything in the is250C and standard is250/is350 wiring wise should be the same. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to install them
On the original headlamps there is the black brackets. Do those need to be transferred to the new vlands? I’ve seen different videos where they are transferred, is that necessary?
You can transfer the brackets onto the Vlands but there is no need for them. I chose to leave them off since there is no benefit to having them there
Transfer the brackets. You need it so your bumper can snap onto it. Without it, there's going to be a gap.
Great video👍🏽 How did you turn off the factory DRL cause on mine the high beam stays on with the check mark DRL and the high beam with some kind of flickering
The DRL stay on all the time while the car is on. The only way they are off like I had in the video is when the car is first started and in the park position with the lights in the off position
I had the same issue, you will need the techstream software to turn it off and once you do that the flickering will stop. You may want to go to your local lexus dealer and ask them to turn DRLs off.
@@MrEklipze but what if I want the drl to stay on?? I just don’t want them to flicker. Is it an either or??
@@cp3onmtv963 The swoosh DRLs will stay on. All you are doing is disabling the old DRL wires, which these new lights do not use, they only create flikering, therefore you want them off.
@@MrEklipze ok got you! Thank you for responding!! I’m looking to purchase a rx 350 and researching all the stuff I want to do beforehand lol
Where did you get that front grill behind the Lexus badge? Looks clean!
I got it off of Ebay. It is a F-Sport/ISF grill
@@nkautos does this work with PCS (pre collision system
Is that grill stock? Mine has the vertical lines and ive been looking for one with the pattern the yours has.
It is an aftermarket isf style grill
I just recently installed my VLANDs they look amazing, but I have a problem. My windows don’t work automatically no more and I can’t operate them from driver side. Each person can still move their own windows. But I was wondering does this have to do with removing the 10 amp fuse that we had to replace? If anyone could help that’d be great.
Bro the same thing happened to me
This is because you disconnected the battery. Thats normal You can reset it look it up When my batt goes flat in the winter it happens every time .
Look up “how to reset windows lexus is250/350 after flat battery”
Looked it up for you. Go to each window and roll it all the way up and hold it for a few seconds and all the way down and hold it for a few seconds and all the way up again and hold it for a few seconds. Then it should work from the drivers side again.
Thank you
Would those headlights work with an 09 IS250 AWD that have HID & auto leveling? I been wanting to upgrade headlights. Thnx!
Yes they will work for the HID models with no problems!
I must have outdated ones as the high beam bulb acts as the DRL along with the checkmark. Ontop of that, the high beam light will flicker until I turn on the headlight setting
The high beams flicker because of the stock DRL light (The stock DRL lights use the high beam but at a lower setting, too low of a voltage for the Vland LED's to function properly so it just flickers). Lexus can hook up a computer and turn off the DRL's for you.
The clips in the engine bay don't need a pry tool, you push in the middle part and they they come out easily
I have a 2010 is350, driver side headlights is broken. Xenón adaptive. I’m thinking going Vland cause my broken lights cost more than the pair on vland. My question the fog light won’t work? I’m I going to get the AFS light on dash? Thanks
Should be no problem with the fog lights, mine still work and aren't throwing any codes on the dash
hi great video, please can this lights be used on lexus is 220d year 2006 ? how much it costs? thanks!
It should be compatible as long as the plugs are the same for the headlights
How’s the beam pattern on these man?
Is it true these lights leak water and get fogged up?
When installing these on an HID model are there any additional steps??
Unplug the AIS fuse, so you don't get that warning light
How does it look with the car on and low beams off ? Is the checkmark on? I read that the high beam flickers?
With the low beams on, the check mark is on. With the low beams off, the check mark is lit up as daytime running lights. I have no high beam flicker issues.
So part of the wires that goes to the headlights has to be ran to and connected to the fuse box?
Correct, that is for the DRL
Dude how are your engine bay plastics so clean for an older car lol? Also where is your grill from?
A small trick that helps is to use WD40 on engine bay plastics. It will keep them clean and shiny for a long time
Yo I want my grill like that I hate the chrome on the sides how’d you get it that nice ?
It is an aftermarket grill, I got it off eBay. It is a fsport-isf style grill
DRL is working properly without any computer adjustments? I have read that DRL won't work unless you adjust the computer with the dealer or shop.
As far as I know, thats only the case if you use the Lexus OEM lights with DRL and retrofit them into a 2009 or after model (facelift). The VLand lights are for all models 2006 to 2013 don't use the ECU for DRL.
Did u instal the bracket under the headlight ? I didn’t see u putting it back
The VLANDS didn't have spots for the brackets so I left them off. I used zip ties to keep the harness out of the way
are you satisfied with the headlights since then? would you recommend them?
They look way better than the OEM ones and produce way more light than the stock headlights did. I’m very happy with them especially for the price
Man I want to get these headlights so bad, but my car wouldn't pass the anual inspection here in the Netherlands :(
Do the highbeams stay on at full power when the low beams are not on during the daytime? Is the Swoosh connected permanently to 12V? So at night time they are on full power instead of 50% power?
The high-beams do stay at full power, also the 12V is for the DRL while the car is on
@@nkautos So I guess you need Tech Stream to disable the DRL high beams?
About to install these soon, how long did it take the entire process?
It took about an hour from start to finish with recording so it should take you less!
I already installed them about 2 weeks ago, it took me a few because I barely knew what I was doing lmaoo
so my ballast went bad, if i buy new headlights do i still need to buy a new ballast or do vlands etc come w that..?
The vlands don't require anything from the old headlights. They are built in LEDs and require no maintenance. You are all set!
Ballasts are cheaper and not hard to replace. If you do get these, restore the oldones and keep them as spares because the factory hid with afs are expensive as a whole unit and if you sell the car or something happens you can always put the factorys back on
Headlight comes with ballast
Do you think I could get the link for the front grill?
It's an isf style grill off of ebay
This might sound like a stupid question but what’s the best bang for buck solution to renting tools? I’m fairly new to car ownership (got my IS 350 back in April 2022) so I don’t have any tools for the job, I also don’t have any car friends that would’ve lended me what I needed. I just not yet ready to go out and spend a bunch of cash on tools I’d only use twice a year. Good job on the video! It gives me confidence and I’m sure I’d be able to install the headlights on my own ✊🏼
Autozone has a free tool rental program
Harbor Freight has a great tool kit that I use for many of these videos on sale you can get it for around 90$. The tool kit is called "Mechanics Tool Set, 225 Piece" It is truly the best you can get for the money! I hope this helps
Hey man, you forgot the bracket from the original headlights. Great video other than that.
If a led dead it is possible to replace it ?
From what I read, answer is no
Hey how much where they for the set you got the link
Hello Kevin! I included the link in the description of this video to this specific set of Vlands. That's where I bought them from. Check it out!
My passenger headlight won’t work and a shop doesn’t know what’s wrong. If I get these headlights and connect them to the fuse box will the passeneger work or will I be in the same boat. Please help thanks
It should work also if you have an AFS system with the HID headlights(not the halogen) you might have a bad ballast on your factory lights If the lenses are good on the factory ones and you have the HID with the auto leveling its honestly not hard to change the ballast out and not all that expensive like 40-70 for a ballast. Its simple to do as well i would suggest that because AFS HID factory lights are expensive to replace the whole unit and its more worth it to keep the factory ones IMO I have ballast issues and one of my lenses is just wrecked so i ordered vlands they should be here this week Gonna take my factory lights and replace the lens and ballast and keep them as spares
I just connected mine but the top swoosh lights won't turn off even with the car off. Any idea how to fix that?
Did you make sure to add the red wire to the fuse box connection like shown in the video?
Can you buy another main harness from vland?
I don't believe you can but you might be able to find a spare online or on ebay
I like the new head light, but it's not legal to upgrade from halogen bulbs in Taiwan. What a pity!
That is a shame, they are truly a great upgrade!
that sucks wtf? LEDs are better
That’s funny, it’s illegal to buy halogen bulbs in America now🙄
Huh
hi is250 2010 install that light but check the light system sign in the speedometer how can i fix it
Remove the AFS 7.5A fuse
Did you have hid light or regular bulbs
The previous owner upgraded the headlights with some old style LEDS with resistors
Don't you need to move the headlight bracket to the new headlights?
Came here to say that as well.
will this work with AFS heaslights?
Yes they will
Do you know if I have to remove head light to replace ballast?
Yes. I did it on mine a few years ago. I had to drill the heads of the screws as they were that corroded. Does not take long to do though.
I installed these myself to and my v light stays on and kills my battery. My switch nob settings aren't right either.
You have the wire connected to a constant fuse. You need to add the connection to a fuse that only turns on with the ignition
Does my quantity have to be 2 for it to come with 2 headlights?
You just need to buy 1, it will come as a pair and include both
Does the DRL flicker for you? If so, did you try to fix that issue?
I haven't had that issue, but the drl are connected to the add a fuse so double check that connection
dude your car is clean wtf
Just wait for the update video!
where can i buy this pilots? Can you give me the web store link?
I added the link in the video description
My check marks do not turn on even thought everything was properly connected, any idea why? and also my dash keeps saying check headlight system and i’m unsure how to fix that
Same problem did you get any solution
Did you make sure to tap to a fuse that turns on for ignition? Also check to see if your modules for the headlights are plugged in
I heard the fuses blow? How are they?
Haven’t had any fuses blow. As long as you wire them up like it shows in the instructions there should be no problems
do these kits come with bulbs ? because it looks like 3 bulbs and my factory current lights only have 2
bulbs are built in so if one bulb stops working, you’ll need to replace the entire headlight.
Thanks. How do you like it? I’ve seem some amazon reviews saying it’s not as bright as oem
I don't own these headlights, just something I've read from others@@rondog086
@@rondog086 I don’t own these headlights, just something I’ve read from others. They look nice though
Hello i have halogen headlights, will it work?
Yes it will work
👍 Can you do a video on how to maintenance an IS250 please throttle body and PCV valves
Yes, I will make sure to include that in a future IS video
Just did this and my left amber sequential isn’t working. I put my emergency lights on and only right amber sequential works but not the left. Someone help?
That’s what’s going on with my car too. Did you manage to fix it?
@@andrewmontero272 yeah, i actually punched it and it ended up working, but only a portion of it. unfortunately i don’t think there’s any fix because the amber lights are on an LED strip and it’s not worth the hassle of tearing it all down over a strip edit: just try and hit it hard with your hand, unfortunately there is no fix. i tried jumping the wire thinking it was a prong, but nope…if it’s ur LED strip ur pretty much screwed. currently only half of mines works, occasionally 3/4 of it will work, and not often but it happens, i have to give it another smack because they all turn off all of a sudden. Just something you’ll have to deal with unfortunately.
@@Atlas-wh2vg Punching it is interesting i’ll give it a try. Mine blinks but it doesn’t blink amber it just blinks white and the same goes for my emergency signals and they aren’t sequential🤦♂️
@@andrewmontero272 yeah, you have to be careful as well because you don’t want to be running with no working signal. what’s crazy to me is that both the white and the amber lights are on the same strip. my guess would be a lose wire connection on the circuit coming from the the amber wire in specific. To find that specific wire is a hassle on its own, but try to see if it could be just a prong that’s missing. if it is, you’ll just have to buy a wire with a fuse and you should be good. If you brought them from vlands directly i’m sure they’ll have warranty. if it’s been a while or you bought them second hand, then yeah you’re pretty much screwed.
Is that the stock grill ?
It is a F-Sport/ISF grill
How come when my car is on it shows the bottom light bar and the high beams?
The bottom light beam will always be on while the car is on that is the DRL
Test at night before and after?
Yes the lights work great
Hi, I want to buy the Vland headlights. But I can’t get a response from anyone about what type of LED bulbs do they hold? Can a H11 Sylvania LED bulb fit inside the Vland headlight? Please help with what bulb fitting actually fits inside the headlight. I’m staying away from the halogen bulbs/fitting types. My Is250 had the factory HID D4S bulbs. I want a headlight that can hold and fit the modern H11 LED bulbs Part # H11SLBX2 SKU #
I know this comment was two months ago, this headlights are sealed and don’t need or hold any other bulb, just the ones that come with them. Sorry
@@robertcaraballosantana4653 sealed? So what if the bulbs burn out? We throw away the entire headlight?????
The LEDs are enclosed inside the headlights and dont need to be replaced, from what I have read online nobody has had problems with LED burnout and have used the headlights for many years
@@michaelboibodas yes... it's a throwaway society... the idea is it lasts forever... but as we know that's never the case, hopefully the car wears out first I guess
Old headlights colored or tinted?
The old headlights were tinted and retrofitted with LED's
Where can i find those headlights?
You can find them on Vlands website or on ebay
