The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France with Anna Tifu, conducted by Mikko Frank, perform Ravel's "Tzigane". Live concert recorded on 14 September 2018 at the Radio France Auditorium.
After hearing the Hungarian violinist Jelly d’Arányi (grandniece of Joseph Joachim) performing Béla Bartók's Sonata no.1 in London in 1922, Ravel composed Tzigane for her. As he mentioned in a letter to Bartók: "For our friend who plays so effortlessly you have convinced me to write a piece which in his diabolical difficulty will revive the Hungary of my dreams". The work evokes a Hungarian, or more precisely gypsy, inspiration, full of virtuosity. Made up of one single movement, the Tzigane is full of passionate impulses of all kinds, stemming from a tense opening, almost lugubrious, and finishing in a state of exuberant folie.
The violin tackles alone the introduction, bringing to mind a gypsy-influenced dance already full of dexterity and virtuosity. The orchestra then takes over, creating a frantic dialogue in which the soloist and the instrumental ensemble challenge one another virtuosically, but always with refinement.

@Kaiser Brett No problem =)
Stunning and what a violin! The 1716 Berthier Strad ex Franz von Vecsey. I actually was more interested in the violin when searching this video but wowzers, what a performance of the Tzigane!
Fantastic Ravel and Bach 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
Quanto è brava questa Violinista...forti e penetranti colori etnici nella sua esecuzione : da vera virtuosa. Brava !
Bella Anna, bella e bravissima!
Fantastica Anna Tifu e Grande Mikko Franck !
Incredible 👍👍👍
Perfection 😍😍
SUPERBE BACH! BRAVO!
❤magique... Merci

Anna Tifu See her performance of the Chausson Poem for violin and orch!
I am assuming that's the Berthier Strad she is playing.....
God gave you great talent! Wonderful! May the Lord bless and keep you!
wow
great. nothing else.
Wow!!! Bravo! What's her name???? She is the BEST! That comes from a violinist
We're glad that you liked this video ! The concertmaster playing is called Anna Tifu.
Why is the violinist not named in the description or title? That's so strange and kind of disrespectful to an artist..
She's named, anna tifu. She will play at montegranaro's theatre this march..
The violinist and conductor are named in the title
Nathan Hollis nope, but its in the description
This performance is not in the right pace. It's too slow and the piece isn't moving on. It's pain to listen too.
@13:30 Bach encore
Does anybody know what piece she plays for the encore?
Sonata for solo violin in g minor - first movement - adagio - J.S. Bach
If I'm not wrong, I believe it's also known as the "Chaconne."
@@isabelliu4486 it’s not the chaconne
@@isabelliu4486 the chaconne is the last movement of the second partita
türkler burdamıyızzzzz🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Imho the incredible energy form the solo part at the beginning doesn't flow into the second part, unfortunately with this piece. So the unity of the whole composition isn't granted....
...why always the rythms of the first bars false?....don´t want to criticize the violinplaying of her, but....
