Getting your polymer clay ready for crafting is a piece of cake. Start by giving it some love through gentle kneading, rolling, and folding in your hands. Imagine you're working with a stress ball - just squish and play around until it's all nice and flexible. This really helps if your clay feels a bit tough or crumbly; we want it smooth and easy to work with, after all! A little heat goes a long way, so warm it up as well if you need to, in a zip lock bag in warm water, lay it next to a computer or even sit on it and warm it up with your butt! Yes! it's so strange how the cornstarch just disappears into the polymer clay, I was hesitant at one stage of using it and now I can't live without it and has a little salt shaker full of it in my studio that's so easy and handy. How can you use a paintbrush with a tapered handle? Wouldn’t it be weird?
🙂Thanks so much for the comment. I always recommend looking around the home to repurpose what you have to save money on tools. To answer your question, it depends how much polymer clay you are using and what type of paintbrush you have and what you are trying to achieve. If you have a really small amount of polymer clay you can get away with the roundest part of a paintbrush. and some paintbrushes are very even and round with only a small taper at the end, especially the very long ones. Just experiment with what you have on hand to see if it suits your needs, otherwise you may want to invest in an acrylic roller. Hope this helps! If you don’t roll it back and forth it also won’t stick to your roller. Also if you tape the card together they won’t slide everywhere
