The crucifix proved 2 things in this game. 1: Entities have to be strong enough to break through the crucifix if they don’t want to die 2: Seek was struggling, which means he was barely strong enough, but FIGURE WASN’T EVEN FAZED
i feel its because figure isnt a evil spirit or demon and is instead a creature of some sort, while seek is maybe just a really powerfull demon.
My theory is that figure wasn’t a demon/entity. This seems like the most logical reason as to why he wasn’t defeated by the crucifix

No that's entirely misleading, the Crucifix is a sealing type of sort of thing, it seals those who have a spirit or soul, Seek doesn't have either of those similar to Figure hence why the Crucifix couldn't affect them + the Crucifix didn't affect the Room entities because of the realm itself being much different from Doors.
Seek could be more of a demonic/unholy entity than the figure, making the power of the crucifix stronger against it
The fact figure didn't even try to get out says alot about how powerful he is

I have lore reasons for Seek and Figure not being killed by the Crucifix. Seek is a really powerful demon, which is why he struggles for a bit, but breaks out. Figure isn't a demon at all, which is why he just snaps the chains.
i don't think figure is a demon either. he's probably some kind of cave creature or of the sort, which is why he just shrugged the chains off and kept walking.
honestly when figure got out of the crucifix it looked way more calmer.. temporarily of course. and even ignored the player but idk if that’s just me that thinks this lmao

2:07 unexpected screech
Figure not even struggling to break the chains made me think that the crucifix is stricted to banish only demons and evil spirits. Some have a huge amount of power to break the chains, but Figure is untouched because he isn't considered to be a demon or an evil spirit.
Figure is just a deformed librarian who just wants to chill in his library. Then the players come and make noise in his library and disturb his peace. Figure gets mad so he moves to door 100 so he would be left in peace since he thinks no one can reach door 100. Then the player goes there again and disturbs his peace. And even sets the figure on fire causing him to fall off the building!!! The figure is so mad after all the player has done he decides to chase the player. After writing this i feel bad for the figure lol.

Just wanted to say a lot of people seem to use the crucifix for the sake of banishing monsters. That’s not the best use. The best use is as a second life so that say if you got hit by something that usually instant kills or would kill you at your current hp you would be fine. Yeah the animation is cool but always remember, CONSERVE YOUR CROSSES
I agree as I almost die to figure when I collecting battery at door 100, I saw figure came at me then I used crucifix yo stunt him in order to give time for me to escape from it

I love how when he crucified seek and saw the red light, he immediately started to run because of what he learned from figure.
I didn't get to use it on figure first so I had no clue what the red light meant And by the time I realized something was off I died
Nah bruh, he already know it cuz look at the achievement. And figure isn't a evil spirit or a demon, so the crucifix won't able to seal his spirit cuz figure is just a creature defending him/herself And seek is just a pure strong demon that would kill the player at all cost. He is powerful enough to escape from the crucifix tho. And figure and seek is the only monster that appears 100% but only limit is 2 rooms: Figure appears in door 50 and 100... Seek appears in door 30 and 80... And figure is soo tanky btw and if he is a evil spirit the crucifix will still be useless.

Yes fr Edit: I was on last 5 doors and rush just kept coming man. I literally BARELY dodged him like 3 times if 5 doors. In the dark, no flickers of lights, and got caught by a freakin trap twice.

The reason why you couldn't use the crucifix on A-60 is because you have to wash it with water. If you find a kitchen with a sink, press E on the sink. But not all sinks have the E button.

The Crucifix is an symbol that the guiding light can apparently possess hence upon attacking an entity it’s dragged down by chains that match the same colour as the Guiding Light This also applies to Rooms as Guiding Light has no way to follow you there which instead Lost Light takes their place which tbh Lost Light is a douche. It doesn’t tell you anything or help, it doesn’t even know it’s own dimension unlike Guiding Light

The real reason: The devs didnt want to make it too easy and make the crucifix so op that it can eliminate boss fights just for gameplay experience.
The bloodcurdling scream of screech when you use it on him makes it feel so good after he comes for you one too many times

Their strength (based on how long it takes for them to die/break out of the Crucifix): Rush: 5 seconds, he rises up (whilst actually struggling to) a lot but not for that long and eventually gets pulled down quickly (it would be cooler if Rush could last longer against the Crucifix in The Greenhouse because he appears to be more strong than he usually does). Screech: 4.5 seconds, showing he is weaker than Rush but tries to fly away (as seen whilst using the Crucifix). Ambush: 4.68 seconds, but he rises up a lot more than Rush and also doesn't struggle whilst rising when Crucifix'd. Eyes: 4 seconds and (weakest so far) hardly rises up, but he does actually try to reject the Crucifix as one of his sounds is called 'Repent' which shows he is trying to ignore the Crucifix to kill the player. Figure: 10 seconds to break out of the Crucifix which is surprising considering how strong he seems and hardly gets fazed by the Crucifix at all and just moving a little (lore-wise, they are important and powerful antagonists). Seek: 13 seconds to break out of the Crucifix, showing he is weaker than Figure because it takes longer and he is also struggling to break free, gets tired, trips a little whilst starting to chase the player and then continues the chase. Dupe: 8 seconds (so far longest to survive before dying), the Crucifix starts to work a little delayed (either it was lag or actual strength) before starting to kill Dupe which shows he tries to escape before the Crucifix catches him (or the Crucifix didn't realise the monster because it was thrown on the floor). Halt: Don't care, but he deserves to die. The reason the Crucifix couldn't kill A-60, A-90 or A-120 was because the Crucifix isn't Jesus related, it is powered by Guiding Light which is non-existent in The Rooms and is instead replaced with Curious Light. Neither does the Candle, it's purpose isn't a light source but to scan for entities, which is also powered by Guiding Light.

I have a theory. Maybe because you are in Rooms and not Doors, the crucifix doesn't work. That might be happening because the guiding light(the spirit that helps you survive) is trapped in the Hotel together with the other monsters. That's why when you get the crucifix out in Rooms, it says that it feels lighter than normal. (MatPat's latest video on Doors helped me out a lot putting the pieces together to figure this out. For those who don't know him, go to game theorists. That's his game theory channel, you should definitely subscribe.)

It doesn't banish anything permanently cuz they always come back. I think the crucifix is better to use when your outside or anywhere you can't really notice the lights flickering. So just walk with it in hand just don't open any doors while holding it. I think they should make the use permanently per game cuz it's hard to obtain and very expensive.

I used my first crucifix on the rush. Me and my friend (2 others were dead) were in the rush room, and I was panicking because I didn't realize there was a closet right behind me that my friend pointed out. I pulled it out by accident and got the rush, but didn't get to see because I began to run away thinking it would come back. It was the coolest thing ever according to my friends

i really like the new seek animation, also the reason i think the figure and seek cant be contained is because they kind of look like humanoids. the other entities are kind of like blobs but figure and seek are the only entities that kind of look like real people or former people
I think Seek is a strong demon (it can be seen that he can easily break things). The figure is most likely not a dark demon (it's still a mystery)
