I believe the pitcher was wrong pushing the runner but try to say what you say while you are at the batter's box.
@arnecruz The implication being that a pitcher will throw at you for calling them soft, proving that they're indeed that soft. I bet most of them would do that.
They are the most stressed in the field. His aggressiveness is due to adrenaline and testosterone, something normal when you are competitive.

To a hockey fan it was nothing. In the NHL it MIGHT have gotten a 2 minute penalty for roughing but a bit of pushing and shoving happens often and often doesn't result in any penalties at all.
This could be the start of a whole odyssey of hit by pitches and ejections for these two teams.

I don't see a problem with it. Caballero got up in his face, so Cabrera told him get out of my face with his glove. His suspension will likely be reduced on appeal as it should be.

I really loved Caballero in Seattle last year. His mind games with pitchers in the batters box was fun to watch, he was feisty and not afraid of anyone or anything. Never gonna back down from confrontation. Ya need a dude like that on each team.

Shoutout to the bullpen guys having to avoid the active play. I’m gonna miss in play bullpens when they’re finally gone; I know they’re suboptimal in a lot of ways but they’re so amusing from a fan perspective and make the game more fun to watch sometimes.
After the push you could see in his eyes he was ready to go, the switch was flipped.
As a mariners fan I watched Caballero last year. He’s definitely chippy and likes to stir the pot. As a 26 year old rookie he got under the skin of Maldonado from the Astros and Garret from the yanks. He’s a good dude to have on the bench

I thought maybe Cabrera's view was blocked by the ump and then got all confused. I played it back, and he could see the runner was tagged out. He should have just walked back to the mound. Instead he created a situation where none existed. Bad anger management.

Perfect breakdown. All on Cabrera. 1) Why was he charging in when backing up the play? He already saw Bichette had the ball. I guess maybe he was excited and wanted a better view of the tag? But from the beginning, he was where he didn't need to be. 2) Random shove when they came together. Cabrera was just pissed that the guy bunted and he gave up a run, and his team was losing. When you run into someone by accident you do what the runner was doing - kind of grab the other person to make sure they don't fall. Not try to shove them. 3) Runner was right to question why the shove. Totally unnecessary. 4) Cabrera gives the runner a shove that's basically a glove-on punch, given the force. Completely unnecessary and also showing that he was upset about the bunt/runs/losing much more than anything that happened in the confrontation.

What good does that ejection do? Punishments have to hurt. Dock the player and the team and every player on the roster a week's earning for every offense and see how quickly this stops. Your got into a fight? You, your team and everyone on the staff pays a million dollars each.
