Very nice! Thanks👍
Great video! Thanks!
"What gives the tree its treeness" is my new favorite quote
Thank you the Video Helped a lot :)
the old school greats used references all the time like hal foster
Totally relate and you’re spot on!
When I was at art school studying illustration, it was very common and encouraged to take our own photographs and use them as reference.
Great video again and I started drawing the same way, school was boring and I was always either imagining things in my mind or doodling. I was drawing from reference when I was at home and drawing from memory at school.
Hello) Thanks for your videos) Please, if it is possible, can you give some advice about how study to draw different kinds of landscapes (also city)?)
I have a video on backgrounds and perspective in the course (comicsforbeginners.com/comics-tutorials/). Thanks!
Great to see you again Palle!

I love your book, “SOLO” and am always delighted to see your uploads on my feed! Keep them coming. You’re very inspiring to fellow artists. 🙂
Wow, thanks! Appreciate the support!
You're a pretty good teacher man😀
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Finally back!
I can't speak for anyone else, but I knew where you were going with the math class joke immediately :)
No joke! But glad you caught the funny in the fact :-)
When I was in high school, the state required a Biology 1 class credit in order to get your diploma. They had a few that were required, this was one. Most students take care of this second year of high school... I took it that year and IGNORED THE WHOLE YEAR, drawing away, and had to take it again the following year. So, yeah, Palle... I'm with you. By the way... you recommended 'Cinematic Storytelling' to me. Great book. Allow me to return the favor and recommend 'Shoot like Tarantino' available on Amazon. I was impressed. They have a series of them. There's ones on Spielberg and Scorsese as well.
Ha, well I'm not saying you should fail classes..! And I often find myself wishing I had paid more attention in math class. But hey, it worked out in the end. Thanks for the recommendation!
That second level... i remember closing my left eye with my hand and observing things with my right eye ( my right eye is myopic, i can't see far away objects ). Everything becomes almost 2d
1:44 what pen was this?

It's from 1999. I wasn't a great artist back then and the stories are not the type I want to tell today. So I think I'll just let that book stay in cold storage :-)
What is the Story of De Lange Næsers Nat

What do you think about Webtoon? Also, I wish you would post more often!
Ha, me too! I know nothing about Webtoon, so I have no opinion on it.
I’m a level 2 artist and seem to never be able to get to level 3. How do you get there?
Some artists are really good at drawing from life but can't come up with images on their own. Maybe you've skipped level 1? If that's the case, I guess you have to practice drawing from your imagination. Or find reference for every single image you draw.
If it's ok for a writer to use dictionaries, then it's ok for a drawer to use photo references.
Good point, Rolant! I don't know why I had that misconception back in the day. All I can think was that I didn't know any artists. And it was before the internet..
