Probably worth mentioning also that as you expend ordnance, jettison fuel tanks, etc. you'll need to make the switch back to Cat 1 while you're flying as well. Don't worry, the light will be there to remind you.
Yes. Should have mentioned that. Thank you.
Good to know (Rookie F16 "pilot" here). By the way. If you have a "light" loadout and you are at Cat III. I guess the disadvantage is that the FLCS will make your plane "under perform". But my questions is: do you get a warning light?
@@maximilianopagliero1228Yes. If you are in the incorrect cat configuration for your load out, you will get a warning.
You really stand out not only due to your experience irl, but your in depth explanations as well.Great content, BD!
Thank you. I appreciate it.
As a Falcon BMS player, I'm amazed this hasn't been implemented for so long. Waiting for hung stores and stores damage warnings after INSANE 7-9Gs with tanks)
I missed this small detail, happy that ED implemented this caution light. Merry Xmas, chief... Love your videos!!!
Happy Christmas thank you for all your great videos throughout the year
Good video BD. A lot of folks don’t know about this. I’ve seen some pretty bad cat III over Gs in my time on the Viper also. Good stuff man.
Surprised it took them this long to actually make STORES CONFIG matter at all, I got into the habit from the start but felt super betrayed upon finding out everyone and their mother ran triple bags in CAT I lol
I think it always worked the CAT configuration, but just the warning light was not there
I guess the tricky part is not the warning light, it's rather how each configuration will affect the way the plane reacts in flight.
Thank you for another great, informative video! Like others, I was surprised to find out this was not in from the start, compared to bms but then again DCS F-16 is not final yet so I guess it's up to every project what goes in at what stage. Massive thanks for the IRL Nuggets of info, great stuff! Enjoy the holidays!
More progress in the right direction 👍 Praying one day for persistent airframes with associated failures.
Merry Christmas! Great video as always.
BOGEY DOPE lives up to his name. This video is simple and DOPE!
Wow! The perfect video to put me in the Christmas spirit!
Happy Christmas to you and your familly.
Merry Christmas, BD!
Great tutorial, thank you!
Great video man. Video is looks crisp. Ive noticed that with an A2G loadout once your muns are off 3 and 7 that it gives you the caution even when you still have two bags. Like dude im not going into CAT 1 with two bags and a TGP 🤣
This is my question also.. I thought that you were always CAT 3 when you had on wing tanks. As soon as the bombs are gone I get the config warning. Is this correct?
Awesome videos man. Quick question about the stores config. So I was ripping around doing some circuits with three tanks loaded in CAT III. When the centerline was empty I punched it off and got the stores config warning despite still having the wing tanks on. Is that a bug to report, or is that correct behavior and just something you normally wouldn't do? ie. You wouldn't/shouldn't drop only one tank like that. Thanks for any help with answering this and keep up the solid work dude. Loving the crew chief stories too.
Good stuff. Thank you.
Thank you! I saw noticed this after the patch, and thought I did something wrong =)
thanks for the info. and thanks for the education about g limits and that the flcs will not g limit my stupidity.
You gonna do videos like this on the F4 when it comes out? Really appreciate these concise guides
Good stuff. Btw, I was wondering, how over-G structures were fixed by the ground crew? Where they patched, partly replaced or welded (I'm sure that is not preferred method)? Off course it depends the damage level but basic, micro or common fractures.
Happy Xmas and thank you for your videos. Can u tell me what you are using for your "radio voice"? It is very cool. And sorry if u already wrote about it.

Yep like @aviator1111 said. Voicemod
Thumbs up mate!
Nice Video and to the point. All meat and no potatoes.
What kind of meat?

How dare a real pilot tell (insert troll name) and their 15000hrs of sim time they are wrong. rofl Edit just so you know your channel is why i was FINALLY able to learn and get kills in DCS. I had f16 for a couple years and would pop in an out of free flight never getting anywhere cause all the vids i came across drown on and on.. yours had me pulling the trigger on a target before the others intro ended
I use CAT 3 whenever I use drop tanks, and with the warning, switch to CAT 1 on cue. I also inert tanks before turning on in air refueling for both in air and hot pit refueling.
So basically- I've dropped all my ordnance, and dropped my bags - So the restrictions by CAT III are lifted-I can now go full Montey in CAT I
TKS!
yhess this is what i needed
Oops. Sorry for not watching it. By the way, Happy New Year Birthday To Me As The Fan of Falcon 4.0
Should push a short out to reset datalink - lots of fuys flying without datalink
Hey just wondering how do you get your name on the icp? Great videos btw
You can mod the interior texture of the cockpit. Im not sure if it breaks I/C check or not for multiplayer. He probably got the mod custom made or made it himself.
I'm pretty sure , RL cat 1 should extinguish stores config if sms is loaded with wing tanks and a2a load out as well as wing tanks and 2 harms iirc from what I've heard "around the fire bottle"
Unrelated to SMS CAT I / III. I know you answered this before, but I can not find the comments. What steps did you take to get your name on the ICP frame, including which texture? My cockpit loads in neon green :(
Yeah i figured
"And I'll over g the targeting pod, with a smile on my face..."
Best song from dos gringos!
Cause I'm a pilot!
TGP is 6.5G, right?
7.3
Does this actually matter now? For the longest time you can run CAT 1 with triple bags or other ordnance with no repercussions.
It ,ales sense that there is no over g protection. It’s the same as why cars are not speed limited (well, I think in Japan they are, but at a very high speed). You need to have the ability to escape a thread, and over g is acceptable to safe life and airframe.
Lol, the amount of bug reports that they get MC light after jett will be funny. I actually had a heart attack in BMS years ago, dropped 4*mk-84 in a train and instantly got MC in the pullout. Was sure I over G the jet.. nope, just back to CAT I
