  • I'm not a swimmer but I can relate to that. I used to do cardio by swimming after weight training but then I start to realize I was losing muscle mass no matter how much I ate so I actually had to just stop and switch to running or incline walk. The amount of calories you burn while swimming ain't no joke, let alone being on an Olympic level.

    • Yea I remember coming from swim practice and just eat like 2 meals in 30 mins, being a swimmer is really hard but many people respect it because many aren’t born with the talent.

  • 8k-10k calories per day is simply BS. Phelps would probably be burning on the order of 1k calories per hour in the pool, add on 2.5k "baseline", and you're at 4.5-6.5k calories depending on training load.
