  • These videos always make me realise how we take more attention to what looks good to us as humans rather than natural on the bottom of the lake . Look how crude these rigs look and still carp are taking. I’m strongly suggesting using drilled stones with rubbers for leads and material that blends better to the bottom

    • The thing is pop ups are not natural if they would be fishing with boillies they catched almost alm in the vid

  • So don’t use bright bait and don’t float it off the bottom…. Thanks for that 👍

  • I have never used a pop up rig. Never. I couldn't work out why you'd even use one till I did some experiments with boilies and noticed after a day some would rise up an inch and hang there.

  • It can work well... if the carp arent feeding off the bottom and just cruising.... but it's better to start with pops ups just off the floor and then move them up by few inches at a time ...after every fifteen minutes or half and hour...... As its similar to zig rigging ...but on the bottom it needs more care and subtle changes...as the carp might be cruising only 3 or 4 inches off the bottom. So if too high it or the line will spook them. Also although highly subjective...I find cream, yellow, red or darker pop-ups (and snowman setups) seem to work better than pink ....except sometimes in winter. But I guess that is also dependant on the venue.

  • Yeah but I mean... Carp are bottom feeders mostly so it would make perfect sense that on a flat bottom lake they would go for a low pop up... If there was a shit load of weed on that lake then the lead is just going to pull a low pop up below the weed so they aren't going to find it which is where a high floated pop up would work.

    @johnbailey4618@johnbailey4618 Жыл бұрын
    • Clearly not how it works with fishing lol. Yes carp are mainly bottom feeders and some on surface which depends on the water/lake itself. But wether you use a pop-up or regular boilie on a clean bottom it doesnt really matter. Low pop-ups work better than high pop-ups, these just spook them off.

    • @@Pescapesca8 non lo metto in dubbio infatti, le boiles sono un'esca più che funzionale e fanno il loro lavoro, ma nella maggior parte dei casi un innesco con boiles su fondali anche leggermente fangosi o con alghe risulta inefficace, perciò preferisco utilizzare pop up o bilanciate, che tra l'altro facilitano l'aspirata della carpa. poi dipende tutto da dove si pesca, se sono in fiume opterò sicuramente per un'affondante, in lago (dalle mie parti per lo più fangosi e algosi) preferisco una galleggiante.
