Scottish Greens targets Kate Forbes and her beliefs
Scottish Greens Ross Greer spoke on the appointment of Ms Forbes, saying 'The Scottish Greens cannot support the appointment of someone who fundamentally does not believe that everyone in Scotland is equal worthy of equal rights and respect.'
Lorna Slater continued the attack, later saying: “I think that some people definitely have concerns, reasonable concerns about having Kate Forbes in a senior leadership position in the government.
“Of course, she as well as John Swinney stood for election on a manifesto that included gender recognition reform and the ban on conversion therapy.”
Ms Slater said the Greens had worked with Ms Forbes and Mr Swinney as ministers in the past.
She urged the First Minister to continue with the Greens’ priorities, saying “we will have to have some disagreements if they’re going to change direction”.

It's the list system. It needs to be scrapped. These people are in govt with a tiny amount of votes. The influence they have gained is wildly beyond their voter appeal. All Green policies and so called progressive politics needs kicked out of Holyrood. I don't want to live in a country where industry is outlawed, there are no jobs, and the age of consent is 10 years old.

Kate Forbes is a talented politician who has essentially stated that she will not roll back passed legislation. She has the courage of conviction to stick with her beliefs, and whether you agree with her or not, many respect her for this. Thankfully the SNP is a broad church and can accommodate diversity of opinion. Clearly the Greens cannot.

Why do some people think they are entitled to criticise others because they see things differently from them?. If you not happy with appointments you’re more than welcome to leave and set up your own parliament.

As if we haven't learnt more than we expected from these toads. The personal attacks on Forbes are genuinely disgusting. While the Greens and their claimed allies, those they say they speak for, may well hate someone with alternative views it's not their beliefs that matter, but what they do. An odd reversal of assumptions about the Greens as it happens. A naive expectations that they stood for better environmental approach became interference in families and all the awful things they have been party to. They must never have power again. As for Forbes, two other things I'd like to mention. First, apart from slanders and unfounded projections of alleged actions, what has she ever actually done against any LGBQ people? Neither the Greens or LGBTQ "communities" should forget another truth. When the dominant admittedly church led, but far from only church led, heavy handed treatment of LGBTQ people (as they are fundamentally the main point here) it was wrong, but persecution the other way is WRONG too. Trying to deny Forbes office and attack her in these petty and unfounded ways may be nothing more than a taste of what Green "rule" would be like. Not safe for everyone for sure. No persecution should be allowed for anything within the law and perhaps someone should assess the Green comments about Forbes in terms of "hate speech". I just hope she politically rubs their noses in it and they never, ever get power or any influence again. Let's hope that SNP at least see the errors in trusting these people.
