Jason was willing from the get-go to reap others' benefits for himself and will stop at nothing to reach success, including murder. He does make an interesting character but I was still rooting for his death lmao. Now that I think about it, he'd probably manipulate Danny if he didn't die first for clues and such so he could have an advantage before betraying Danny.

But in each room, he was helping more and more, and the time in each room got shorter too. By the last room, he was able to solve a room by himself, with the shortest time available too.

  • i watched this movie and i agree that it isn't the best, but the thing that made me love it was how they built Zoe and Amanda's friendship. they both went through severe trauma (i mean, all the characters did, but i'm focusing on these two rn) and even though their experiences were different, they still understood how it felt to suffer from PTSD. they found comfort in each other and immediately got along. i can also see a bit of motherly affection from Amanda to Zoe, and the fact that Zoe lost her parents could lead to her seeing Amanda as a mother figure. their bond just means alot to me, i love the way these characters were written edit: i also absolutely adore Ben. the scene that made me love him was after Amanda's death when Zoe was grieving, and Ben was trying to help her calm down while yelling at the other two to just "give her a minute". i think he was able to pick up on how Amanda and Zoe cared for each other despite not knowing each other, and he was willing to validate Zoe's grief over her instead of being like "she was a stranger bro get over it". Ben is such a sweet guy despite how edgy he was at the start

  • Mike's death in this made me so sad! Such a loveable character, amongst a group of people that really didn't like to work together, he died being the one to play for the team. • In the first room, the fist two heaters didn’t have to be turned on, because the triggers were the lock on the door and the fire extinguisher being out of place. The last heater, however (that burned the room down) was triggered by the empty water filler that they had to use to fill up the cups to put on the coasters. But, since they triggered the heaters, Zoey went to grab Amanda some water to calm her down, which resulted in them having just barely enough water to fill up the cups. Which makes me think, what if the heater were never turned on by the players? They would have enough water and water filler would still have some water in it, resulting in not triggering the last heater to burn it all down. That way, the survivors would still have proof when to got out to show the police.

  • As someone who's never done escape rooms: I honestly loved this movie. I also really love the small details that foreshadow the reveal that the game runners know everything about the participants. Like the taxidermied wolf that points Mike to the fishing rod has heterochromia, just like his old dog.

    • As someone who also never done escape rooms I really hated this movie. The characters to me were pretty blend and stereotypical and the movie itself is pretty boring. It overall just reminded me of a fake deep movie trying to hard, especially at the ending and it really asked me to suspend my disbelief a little too far especially with the ending.
