I was just telling my daughters I was going to make birria tacos because my mom brought me fresh Oaxaca cheese from Mexico. This was a sign for me to get to it lol 😋
Yum! Be careful with Listeria risk in that cheese!
I was just thinking about getting some yesterday and here comes this video!
u look so cute! ☺️
So how was it ?
Do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That looks so delicious 🤤
Some tips as Mexican here: you can blend the chiles before and then mix it with the broth, is not necessary to add them with the meat as it’ll be difficult to find them. Also you can add a little bit more water to the broth so it’s not that thick/dense? (Sorry don’t know which word to use 😅) besides that this is a really good recipe for an original birria 🤩🤤 edit: sorry, as some of you have already noticed, I didn't say that you need to remove the seeds before blending the chiles, you can soft them in hot water or broth, then blend and add to the birria broth!
yes!! I hate seeing ppl put their chilis with the meat to boil
Viscous is the word you are looking for. :)
definitivamente asi es como se hace originalmente.
Is this correct: Instead of removing the stem and seeds, we should just blend them and then add to broth?
@@coltondolezal no, remove the sedes and stem, put them in hot water to soften, then blend and put them in the broth, no need to put them in the broth then fish them out to blend.
Now this is definitely a must try recipe...
Shut up
You look like a must try recipe 😍😘

I made birria de res a few days ago. We ate all the meat. I'm still using the leftover consomme to cook ramen noodles in. Soooo good
That sounds so good I’m going to have to try that
What a good idea
Check out my recipe
Thats a wonderful idea!!!
Thanks for sharing your tip. Great idea
I was watching at the beginning thinking, "wow I could do this for a fun taco dinner party", then I continued watching and saw it has a lot of hours of prep time. Then by the end of the video, my mouth salivating, I realized...I don't want to throw a party I just want to make that whole pot for myself! 💯🤩👏👏
looooool same here
there is different ways to cook it that recipe she showed is usally only used on our holidays and sometimes it takes 48 hours to make but the most common way is around an hour and 30 min
Same here, and if Im going to put that much effort towards for cooking someone, it’ll only be for my son and my wife, not friends or other relatives.
Bless your heart.
If you're in a hurry, you can definitely do it quickly. I've had leftover shredded meat that I've used in mine before when I'm really craving it but don't want to wait for hours. If you're really wanting to shorten the time, you won't get as much flavor from it as you would with the full prep, but you can just add everything into the pot together, bring it to a boil, then bring to a simmer and add the meat in. When I made it super quick, I added all of it together, went through this, fished out the whole chilis, blended them, and then added them back in. The tortillas and stuffing took me less than 30 seconds apiece to do. Again, it isn't going to taste nearly as flavorful as going the slow route, but it is still delicious and worth it. Especially if you're just learning.
Where’s the ‘OH YES!!!’ at the end? This is an outrage!!
That’s what I said, more than a few videos are missing it.
This is democracy manifest!
I’m very thankful for this video. Because of this video I was able to prepare this dish at home for the first time. I didn’t have to drive 35 minutes away and wait 45 minutes to get it.
I have a recipe go check it out
I like how u have every ingredient laid out to show & everything is easy to see. I never seen 1 with banana leaves before. Thank u for this 1!!!
I love the complexity and well balanced of sweet spicy savory, and citric fusion of mexican food! I've made a different version of Birria tacos before, but have never tried it Birra all together, so I don't know if I did it right or wrong lol. As the fam loved it and brings everyone together, I have no complaints. The recipe I used, had oranges and lard for basing the meat and seasoning before the broth, I have to try this version, looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
This was the BEST tasty recipe I've ever tried. Thank you so much Michelle
I just made this. Possibly the best thing I've ever cooked!!! Thank you
Use a spice bag for the chilles so that y'all don't have to fish out every last one of them. Just place the bag under the meat so that it doesn't float to the top when you simmer them.
that is so smart
Great tip!
Thank you!
hells no you dont even cook the chilles in the broth it bitters it its and old rule when using chilles..i cant belive noone is pointing this out this recepie is trash
@@stoneageaquaponics9142 yep
BEAUTIFUL 😻 This is by far the best recipe I’ve ever seen and that consommé is thick and luscious, rich in depth and I’m certain… flavor. Thanks!
It really does deserve it's own holiday. It's soooooo good. 😍🤤🤤
That looked easier that i thought lol thank you so much for making this video! Going to definitely try it!
Made these last week but did some things a little differently. Still turned out great. Best tacos I’ve ever had!
I chose to use a crock pot instead of the Dutch oven. Cooked meat and broth for 5 hours. I also did the chilies differently. After removing seeds and stems, I added chilies to a pot of room temp water, brought water to boil and then turned off heat and let them steep for 20min. I then put them in a blender and blended them with the cooked onion, tomato, garlic and spices. In my opinion the Cinnamon, clove, and all spice are so similar in flavor. I found that those 3 spices combined together was too overpowering. Next time I make this I will be choosing 1 of those spices to add to the Birria, not all 3. Kids and husband tore these tacos up! Will DEFINITELY be making this again!
I tried it yesterday and omg it was so tasty. I didn't have all ingredients and switched one or two things to my liking but my husband was so impressed. Definitely something i will try to cook more often.
I love how they got in an authentic chef.
with an unauthentic recepie 😂😂😂😂😂 its white washed and trash.
@@stoneageaquaponics9142 nice English 😂😂hoy putang ina
@@stoneageaquaponics9142 the Mexicans in the comments say otherwise. Switching goat for beef isn't "whitewashing"

Bought these the other days and they were amazing.🥰💖
Omg I’m so glad this video came up I can’t wait to be able to make this at home 🎉🙌🏾👏🏾 Thank you so much!
TASTY, please share the specific amounts of spices/ingredients for this recipe. The recipe currently on your site is from a different chef and slightly differs from the one in this video. Please and Thanks!!
Be intuitive! Add it until it seems right
I agree with you. The better KZhead chefs always provide a bare minimum of a recipe that includes a complete list of ingredients and quantities. The best include the entire recipe from start to finish, including number of servings and estimated time. If you’ve never made a certain dish before, you cannot possibly intuit what is right or not. You don’t know how it’s supposed to taste, look, or feel, so you need a little guidance.
@@pinkmonkeybird2644 Damn, that shade😎 tho

Looks super delicious..!! Thank you for the update, Tasty..!! :)
Great video! I how you explained everything. Left me with no questions. Awesome!
This is actually called quesabirria, which is a spin on traditional birria with the addition of the cheese and the dipping of the quesadilla into the consomé. Origins are in the norther border city of Tijuana and highly popular in the US due to social media. Not very popular throughout Mexico. Very delicious regardless!
This is a sign I need to try these 🥺❤️
Thanks for this learned new techniques that will make my version the best!

I did this!! It was so amazing, a level of flavor nobody will ever know in their life. There’s plenty of heat as well… but you wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t. This right here? Is a different level of life. Period.
Sorry, did you also use the banana leaf?
Great video! Birria is like the curry of Mexico, so much to love!
A note, if you can’t find Mexican oregano, substitute Marjoram instead! It has a similar flavor profile
Pure love thank you ! ❤️
