I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone as physically dominant as Dustin Byfuglien. Absolutely manhandles anyone in his path
Most physically dominant NHLer of all time and that’s a fact
Lindros was kind of dominant as well like him
ribourgc You’re right but buff is bigger so it just makes it so much scarier.
Bob probert?
Getting Kronwalled was not fun
There will NEVER be another one like him in the NHL. Tough, hard hitting, quiet, and does what he wants, WHEN HE WANTS!
100%. He could take over a game in so many ways. Hit like a truck one shift, toe drag u next one, and snipe another
I miss big buff. I miss him dominating everyone
Absolute unit
Not only that, he was actually a really gentle guy on the ice compared to jerks like Pronger or Messier.
We need more players like Buff in today’s game
Player like him are too big and too slow for nhl. It's pretty uncommon to see a big man like this go that fast, skate and have good hand.
ribourgc I still think we need more of that, some old school hockey mixed with the new school
Igonzo29 You’re right if we have more players like him half to league would be gone lol.
@@Iangonzalezz22 hard to have those big hard hitting guys with how the NHL has moved towards speed and skill. Those guys have to be just as fast and able to produce offensively
Evan Poole which buff did, he had solid numbers in his career for a big man
Y’all really made me emotional with the “so far”
It made me laugh! lol.
Career highlights video would show him with the Cup, on the ice with his 3 kids and wife, being at the All-Star game with other greats in the league, World Cup of Hockey member. This video is a Career Hits highlights package.
Great point. They missed a lot of stuff here yet showed the Hall hit 5 times, and the Stone hit with next to no context, minutes apart etc. Not the best editing.
I understand your point but when people think of Byfuglien they think of his hits first.
@@rustyshackleford7271 Imagine a 'Top Sidney Crosby Career Highlights" video and it shows goals, assists, dekes and board battles. No play calls, no stat milestones or firsts, No Cup lifting, no trophy winning, no Team Canada or World Cup footage, no medals, no All-Star footage, no family at the arenas, no photos of him and Gretzky, no charity events. So yes, to label this Byfuglien's career highlights is incorrect. This is a hits highlights.
Anthony Did you watch more than the first couple minutes?
@@timdowney6721 time stamp all the parts with career accomplishments for me.... I'll wait.
Big Daddy Buff is a legend I imagine getting hit by this guy I would be freaked out
Ethan Dykstra, lol same
There's a video on KZhead called something like NHL players talk about biggest hitter, or something like that. Buff easily comes up the most lol but so did Weber
TheMCricket, Buff is definitely the biggest nhl hitter.
Or dead lol
TheMCricket, he is literally a freight train on skates
I could watch Dustin Byfuglien highlights all day. No one comes close to matching Byfuglien's mean demeanor on the ice, he pummeled everyone in his way!
Buff made Chris Pronger look ineffective in that '09-10 Finals and that's no easy feat for someone drafted in the eighth round. Buff wasn't even supposed to make the big time.
@SupremePrestige Datsyuk comes to mind. Imagine how bad you'd be kicking yourself if you passed on him haha.
@@austintyler8567 It was actually because of poor scouting why he went so far. There’s a documentary going around somewhere about it actually, I’ll do my best to find it and post it here. It was by blind luck that he was even discovered apparently.
Still blows my mind that Chicago used him as a forward. I read an article on his offensive ability and he said he spent a lot of time stick handling, edge work and shooting. When asked why as a defensemen he replied "I hit people a lot and it gives me time with the puck i wouldn't normally have, I had no choice but to get good at it. "
Pronger had half his brain left in that season due to years of concussions, gotta love big buff although idk if the cory perry hit should be in here as a highlight when it's by far his dirtiest play
Not even just that, he had the most goals of the playoffs in Chicago. The guy has 2 goals in one game that’s how good he was.
Always wanted to see him fight Chara. That would be an entertaining fight
He’s sucks at fighting though..
@@kw9377 To be fair they both do. I suppose that's part of the appeal for Random Gamerz. 2 giant, physically dominant humans who make for awkward fighters going at it. Can't say I wouldn't tune in myself
Yeah 2 of the strongest guys in the league...
That would be the fight of the ages
Chara hasn’t played a physical game for at least 3-4 years .
When a linebacker plays hockey, total awesomeness
I just want to say that he actually let's up on his hits because he knows he can really hurt someone
I always respected him after watching him during that 2010 run with Chicago. He was among the most dominant players in the league when he was in his prime and that physicality he brings has always stood out to me.
I so wish the team had kept him. Sharp and Kane and Duncan Keith were brilliant players, and that playoff run was brilliant, but I quit watching them after the team dumped Buff.
You dont know what you have until its gone. Man gonna miss this guy in a Winnipeg jersey. Thanks man, if you see this.
His assist at 4:53 has got to be one of the best assists of all time
Facts
Bro I was at this game and witnessed live... still can’t believe it I was jaw dropped by that one
Bro got triple teamed and still executed lol
The first clip looks like it's from the 80s. Quality is lower and theres no ads on the boards.
Alex LeBlanc where are the ads?? i’ve never seen that before
@@RyanAndrewMusic1 I'm not sure, never seen it either.
prod. hkyboy it was the first preseason game or game in general playing in Winnipeg so they didn’t have ads on the boards yet at that time
Alex LeBlanc first game played in winnipeg for preseason didn’t have ads yet at that time
That OT playoff goal for the Hawks is soooo iconic.
Atlanta Thrashers Legend
The Atlanta Thrashers we're a joke
And I'm a Canucks fan
Believe In Blueland baby
Watching this just puts a smile on my face, I miss the guy
I will miss watching him in a jets uniform, love him or hate him he was an absolute unit when it came to physical presence on the ice, the fact that he could demolish people with his hits and still be a pretty clean player is just insane, he's one of a kind and his play will never be fully replicated. I knew this moment was coming but I just held onto that little bit of hope that we'd see him lace up with the jets a little while longer, but this is just the way things gotta be. I will always miss his crazy antics with the jets.
Did anyone hate him? Maybe you hate playing against him, but I don't think anyone would complain about having him on their team.
I know this is an old video, but I absolutely LOVE DB's game and man do I miss watching him play!
I have watch many hockey highlights but for me this video is the best ever Hits, skills, fights...u cant ask for more
Favorite player to watch....EVER!
Jamie Benn doesn't back down from anybody and holds his own against everyone including Buff. Both of em are great.
Miss him so much he was really fun to watch
Saw him play live in Ottawa, for the Jets, many years ago while at a youth tournament with my son's team. Every time he stepped on the ice, he was by far the best player - it wasn't even close. The thing I remember most about him was he never, ever looked down, ever, while skating with the puck, his head was up, on a swivel, just looking for the best play. He was the best player on the ice at 10 years old in the most elite kids' tournament (The Brick) and he was almost always the best player on the ice in the NHL. A true legend.
Man one of my favorite players. Love love big buff.
big man can use his hands to deke you, or send you to the stars....love big buff i really hope he keeps playing... what a f*cking beauty
The fact benn hung in there with buff like that was impressive
Been one of my Favs since that Hawks cup run.he was the MVP IMO
He will forever be my favorite hometown player
What a player. His hits are clean is what i like most about this.
Thanks for your time big buff
7:46 lmao i love that fan screaming on the right at the ref
Guy was such a special player had such a unique game
"Phillip Dan-Alt" Right up there with Jim Hughson constantly saying "Matt Stay-On"
I hope it’s “so far” I want to see him play again
Winnipeg loves one (1) man. I'll miss you like hell and wear your jersey till I die, Dustin, thanks for the memories!
What a beast! Gotta love big buff 💪
Love Buf. Scariest dude in the league, also played like an absolute tank. Would rather fight Chara, than him, any day. I personally think that he will sign with another team, and the dramatic suspense, is intended.
@Mark Pierce yea...he's got a foot injury, that is to his own choice, on how he wants to attempt a comeback. Not following your opinion on him "being done, long ago, due to injuries". Dont buy too in-depth, into what the media tells you. Remember what they once told us about Nail Yakupov.
@@darrellmackinnon1667 He's done, man. He put in 0 effort to skate or stay in shape all offseason. Didn't say anything about a foot injury until the next season started. Once he finally had his operation he was supposed to get back on the ice and begin rehabbing it, which he never did. If you look up photos of him he looks like he's probably up to 320 pounds. His heads not in it.
@@HudsonW1993 only time will tell. I think you will be in for a good suprise 😎
Darrell Mackinnon he’s done, I heard him and the jets management talking
Mark Pierce didn’t lose the passion, it’s a family matter and the nagging injuries he’s had over the years
8:47 loool something about how he holds his head in one hand and punches with the other 😂😂
Hated him on the Hawks cuz they always beat Vancouver with him. But much respect for Byfuglien, treat to watch him play
i love it when Buff gets on a combo tear
Obviously he could hit like a train but his skating and offensive abilities were elite. One of a kind player.
Imagine if he was born 10 years earlier and had gotten a chance to play wing for someone like Lemieux & Jagr.
pure talent
So very sad to see him leave the Jets!!! I always liked him!!!!
i miss this guy, absolute tank
He’s the reason l became a jets fan, so sad the way things ended.
6:12 Love the expression on both faces
Absolute legend..
I already miss you big buff.
Big Buff the Legend.
Absolute beauty if your team picks him up
this is real hockey.Big Buff a great player.
The *MAN* the *MYTH* the *LEGEND*
Miss this guy
Where’s his goal off binningtons head in playoffs?
He's like the big kid in the playground. He does whatever he damb well pleases.
REMOVE SO FAR.
He a jet for life
@@snicky3594 *Thrasher
He's not coming back anywhere. Wasn't having fun anymore.
@@frozen-curmudgeon why didn't he just announce retirement then?
@@Reyrocksall He will as soon as all the paperwork is finalized. Basically the sports media here in Winnipeg is stating that its just all the legal stuff left. In reality even if he retires he could officially return but dont forget, he's walking away from +14$ million so prob a slim chance of that.
By far his biggest hit was on mark stone, I remember watching that game. You heard that hit man.
PLEASE tell me he didn’t retire, he is so awesome I want to see more!
Very unique player
forever loved in winnipeg, don’t let the media fool you, we’ll always love big buff
Watching this you know you're gonna see the hits. How about those filthy mitts though. Some of those dangles are ridiculous. Guy might have been one of the most underrated 2-way D in the league post-Chicago. Even in the Atlanta days he was walking guys haha
Best ever
damn, that 2018 run
We.... Need.... More.....
Its easier to knock them over then to chase them around. Takes out two players. Awesome
he was fun to watch.
we miss you in wpg big buff
Yah what a great player, where is he again?? lol, i didnt even know there were actually Byfuglien fans still out there, wow...
His hits were always clean.. 😀
Hall of famer and Atlanta thrashers legend
Hockey and NHL needs more players like Big Buff
I’ve never seen someone so damn strong and so damn athletic.....man do I wish he was still in a blackhawks uniform
One of my favourite Jets, current or original versions. The "...So Far" gives me hope he'll sign somewhere, Boston and Colorado can probably afford to sign him and give him a good shot at another Cup in 2021.
Boston. Boston? Boston! How dare you!
Jason Dashney LA, Buffalo, Columbus, New Jersey and Ottawa can afford him but they're not contenders, he'll likely sign a short term contract, maybe 3 years possibly 4 and will want to win a Cup. Boston and Colorado are strong teams with some money to spend on an upgrade and Buff would make them better. Montreal and Florida have some cap space but probably not enough.
Jason Dashney It's just speculation though, he still has to make sure his ankle is ready to go.
@@ll7868 Colorado isn't gonna sign any big name guys for any big contracts for long term. They got a lot of raises to deal out in the future, Burakovsky, Makar, Landeskog will need a new contract soon. They've structured their cap so they'll be able to keep their core long term
Evan Poole Then Boston is probably the best place for him to sign if they decide to make an offer but I would expect a few of the other teams I mentioned to make offers as well if he continues playing.
An absolute freight train coming at you or he can dazzle you with his skating skills. He was so fun to watch.
I don’t think we’ll ever see another player like him with his size speed strength.
Buff wasn't dirty either ..... just tough !
Big Buff is a legend
Some NHL teams need this type of player
Man I miss this guy!
He is probably fishing right now haha.
Yup!
Holy hell I miss this guy
As a wild fan some of these hurt
Best hitter of all time.
By far the most double kills in chel history
I wish the Blackhawks could have kept him. He was a beast during their 2010 Cup run.
One thing most people don't know how often he gave a second warning to those before he hit... including Stone...
I love seeing Buff send 6'-6" Pronger to the ice.
Most physically dominant player ever
why do the boards in the first clip have no ads on them?
Very first pre season game at MTS Centre in 2011... Didn't have them on yet...
Best player ever could do it all miss him in the peg
Big buff is an absolute beast
Everyone in Winnipeg can think Big Buff is yours, but he won his cup in Chicago.
You had him, we had him and we both admired him. Is he yours? Is he ours?
2:34 was my favorite bc it just makes me laugh watching players do that 😂
my favorite defensemen
He really was the last of the true enforcers
I miss big buff .. he was a beast
Damn, miss seeing him playing for the jets.
