Men’s Fall-Winter 2022 Show | LOUIS VUITTON

The 𝓛𝓸𝓾𝓲𝓼 Dreamhouse™️ presents the Men’s Fall-Winter 2022 Collection, consolidating the themes and messages of the eight-season arc Virgil Abloh created for Louis Vuitton. Imagining a metaphysical space of possibility, the Carreau du Temple in Paris is transformed into a mind-expanding interior of ideas, prospects and encouragement. Through the lens of Virgil Abloh’s central Boyhood Ideology®, seeing the world with the eyes of a child, the collection transmutes the dress codes popularly tied to societal archetypes and patchworks them in new ways. Through materials and techniques, gestures of surrealism take form, abstracting the familiar and expanding our horizons.
Creative Direction by Virgil Abloh
Music Composed by Tyler, The Creator
Music Arranged by Arthur Verocai
Orchestra Conducted by Gustavo Dudamel
Performed by Chineke! Orchestra
Musical Direction and Production by Benji B
Theatrical Direction & Choreography by Yoann Bourgeois
Film Directed by Caleb Femi
Featuring Mustafa the Poet

  • This runway show feels like a winter dream world which exists inside a "SNOWGLOBE" and Virgil is just shaking it constantly (therefore the constant falling movement of the models) in order to explore all the details and whats inside the little houses (pushing and disrupting the fashion world). • This collection was a great example of Virgil’s perspective of reality. It was child-like dream state, but in the mind of an adult. I always say that human life is like a wave. There is always an up & down, a positive and negative. He described that perfectly, especially with the dancers going up and down the staircase in the beginning and the dancers falling down throughout the show. I think that portrayed Virgil going up the staircase of heaven, showing that chasing your dreams is about creating a balance of the ups and downs. Having no limits. I can also push it too say that now that Virgil is unfortunately gone in this life, this collection may show how death is an ‘eternal dream state’ where Virgil now lies.

  • I’ve never cried over an outfit but I did several times with this show. Every look tells a story, drawing from historical fashion eras, breaking down racial and gender barriers, becoming limitless. It’s phenomenal. It’s what so many of us have been looking for in fashion, and Virgil made it not only beautiful but fun. The additional choice to include the crew at the end and take a moment to appreciate the musicians really capitalizes on the humanity of the show: everyone matters, everyone is beautiful. Until we see you again, Virgil💙

  • This is the perfect example for me how fashion shows have become their own unique form of art. The coreography, music, stage design and outfits in combination are something so unique and never seen anywhere else. I personally love the progressiveness of this, since it doesnt represent the usual "advertisement" for products, these creative designers are not ashamed to try something that doesnt appeal to a lot of people, but expresses their creative thoughts. Keep the great work up!
