These drills are the canvas. Do these basic drills well and you can overlay punching skills, head movement, defensive skills and broader tactics to dominate your space.
Think about ring generalship, defensive actions, angles of attack and methods of exiting the attack. These boxing footwork drills are MUST KNOW. If you can't do this stuff, this relatively simple stuff, then you can't hope to develop a versatile and effective fighting style.
When it comes to the best fighters, 90% of what they do are the basics, they just do them very well. These boxing footwork drills will help you do those basics well.

  • I've been focusing on boxing(striking) for a couple of years now, along with other MMA disciplines, but I have to say your boxing videos have really cleaned up my technique and are the best I've found on KZhead for clear, concise fundamentals. We stand more square and less bladed in MMA training to prevent leg kicks, but even still, all the other movements are the same, and it's good to have high-quality videos like this to test the MMA teachings against. Thanks, mate, from one scouser to another! If I ever see you out in town, I'll buy you a pint 😂

  • Nevermind just boxing, people who are interested in making KZhead videos should pay attention to you. Concise information, fluently delivered and done so when doing some relatively energy-sapping movements. All in one take... You make it look easy, Fran. Still a fan big after ten years of watching 💪 Cheers

I always wanted to but it was too expensive growing up and I was nervous to join a gym because I live in an expensive city but now I'm working at one so I get to learn for free. I've been using all of your tips and I've never felt more confident. Thank you for fueling my new passion. Stay blessed! 👍🏾

Not often you find genuine people these days that want to help people.

  • I’m a beginner at boxing and this video was absolute gold. Always thinking how to move the feet, weight distribution to move effectively and be attack ready. When I box I feel off balance and keep trying to figure out how to balance myself.. this was clinical in delivery and something I’ll be practicing day in day out. Keep them coming! Thank you!

  • I was an amateur boxer from age 7 to 17 and then a karate practitoner - and various other martial arts - until now (in my fifties!). Having discovered your channel, I'm now incorporating boxing skills into my karate and it has made a huge difference. I'm not sure I properly learned all the correct boxing skills when I was a kid and teenager; I think maybe I went into fighting tournaments too quickly and started relying on a reduced skill set that seemed to work for me. Anyway, you are a great instructor, and you've helped to rekindle my love of Boxing! So, thanks, and keep up the good work!
