Suburban Bowhunter | Bane (part 1)

The 170" eight pointer known as Bane haunted Lee Ellis for two years. With four years of trial camera pictures, two seasons hunting, over sixty sits in the stand, seven encounters, and two missed opportunities, the hunt for Bane is the type of story that we love to tell. We show it all in this two part episode; the mistakes, failures, missed opportunities, and hard earned success. The amount of time and effort that went into hunting Bane made the reward at the end that much sweeter!

  • Bro I've been bowhunting for 35 years and have watched a LOT of videos over the year. By FAR yours are the best I have seen. Whoever is producing and editing your videos is a genius and I don't use the term lightly. I feel like I am along for the ride with you and that I am filming that hunt as it is taking place. Good luck and God bless you my friend. Keep them coming

  • I see you guys getting a lot of early-season success, and by all means, that is fantastic. That being said, I cannot tell what measures you guys may go through to preserve the meat, noting that sometimes the deer are left out for 8+ hours at times in temps higher than 50 degrees. If I may make a suggestion, after gutting a deer, pack the chest cavity with ice. At the very least this should preserve the backstrap, fish (aka inside tenderloins), shoulder meat, and some neck meat. I'm not here to complain, I just would hate to find out the bodies of these deer are going to waste after everything it seems like you guys go through in the pursuit of such animals. I don't want folks to be under the impression that your channel is solely head hunting. Good luck, can't wait to see you guys this fall! -Cole

    @coleremington3391@coleremington33914 жыл бұрын
    • Cole Remington Hey Cole thanks for the concern and suggestions. We always insure that the meat is kept cold immediately after recovering the deer. Whether we store it in a walk in cooler or pack the body cavity with ice, none of the meat is ever wasted. The meat from our bucks we always keep, but most of the does we process then donate to a homeless shelter in Atlanta

    • @@SeekOneProductions Relieved to hear that. Again, I did not and do not mean to pry or aim to accuse anyone one of doing anything wrong. I'm sure you guys know of bowhunters who go out, shoot a big buck, cape the animal and leave the rest for the coyote's under the claim that "buck" or even just "deer" meat isn't worthy of putting on the table. Again, great video's, keep up the hard work, and good luck in the upcoming months. -Cole

  • As a relatively new hunter I’m curious, I’ve noticed a lot of the bucks you guys see have darker colored antlers, do you know what factors contribute to that? Love what you guys do and the content you’re producing keep up the great work!

    @jonathanstiles7455@jonathanstiles74556 жыл бұрын
    • Dark antlers are from genetics. Kind of like some people have dark hair, some are blonde.

      @jeffamckee@jeffamckee6 жыл бұрын
    • Antler coloration is determined by several things, including: (1) buck age (older, more dominant bucks make many more rubs on trees than younger bucks, therefore their antlers tend to be darker; (2) bark coloration of the predominant rubbing trees in a region; (3) genetics (some strains of bucks have light racks in their DNA while other have dark); (4) time of year (early in the fall “new” antlers are darker; later in the season antlers that have been exposed to sun and light longer and are more bleached out, especially in open habitats.
