About Dean Schneider:
I am a 27-year old Swiss guy, who dedicated his entire life to the animal world! Nowadays, I live in Africa, I am a member of a lion pride, my wife is a hyena and I’m a daddy of two monkeys. Besides that, I have built a global voice for our planet’s wildlife over the past two years!
Born in Switzerland (Zurich) on October 3, 1992, I was blessed to grow up in a loving family with my sister (one year older) and my parents, who were always very supportive and loving. My mother is originally from the Balkan region (Southeastern Europe), while my dad is a Swiss citizen. I discovered my deep passion for wildlife at the age of six or seven, through the legendary Steve Irwin! He was the one who brought wildlife into my living room in Zurich and inspired and educated me about all kinds of different animal species.
Even though I was so passionate about animals, I originally followed a very ordinary path to adulthood, eventually ending up in the finance industry as a financial advisor. After a very successful year, I decided to found my own company, which then, over the next three years, allowed me to generate the financial foundation to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project at the age of 23-24.
After starting my life in South Africa additional financial support form my Family allowed me to evolve and develop the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis for 2 Years without having to depend on any income sources such as offering touristic visits / programs, breeding or trading of animals, donations or any other monetary businesses!
About Hakuna Mipaka:
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is located on around 400 hectares (four million square meters) in the wilderness of South Africa! It is home to thousands of different wild animal species! Besides that, the oasis also serves as a life-long home to a few rescued wild animals, which were born in captivity! We also do rehabilitation programs with different animals, which are then being released back into the wild.
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is my personal home and a private sanctuary that is NOT open to the public. We don’t cater to tourists and don’t allow any day visits or animal activities! We don’t breed animals and we are also not trading animals. I built this place for animals and not for humans. The Hakuna Mipaka oasis is a secure, wild & lifelong home to the animals that live here.

My heart broke for you Dean. As parents we sometimes have to make difficult decisions for our children and we aren’t always sure they are the right ones. Hel could have given her contraception to prevent her from getting cubs. Many zoos and sanctuaries do that in order to avoid castration that means removing a healthy organ.

He is, that was 2 years ago, almost 3 and he’s going fine now. He didn’t loss any limbs or anything but he couldn’t walk for 2 months. Most of the time we had to sedate him because he was only 1 at the time, still a puppy.

Muhammad Umar she cant make her own decision. he deliberated it for weeks, got professionals opinions and came to the conclusion that it would be best for her to be sterilised, as there could have been a chance of inbreeding with the lions and issues in the pride if she had cubs, please understand it from that point of view
I don't know if i like this choice, he could just do the vasectomy to the males that is soo much less risky than the sterilization. The vasectomy is not a sterilization, the hormones of the males will be the same, just they can't put in pregnancy the females. They can even have sex. I don't know if he even thinks to this option :/
@@kertralpholivar34 I knowed that wasn't the normal sterilization, but still is less risky than the females sterilization :/ The veterinary of a friend that has 2 dog, said to her to do the vasectomy to the male and not sterilize the female because was less risky. However, I didn't put any dislike, but I don't understand the choice.

I mean it’s the same reaction humans have in fear, hyper awareness, increased inhalation, and restlessness. The increased inhalation is a natural reaction which attempts to provide the brain with more oxygen so it can perform at a quicker and more responsive rate.

@@ginachallen7804 Yeah we get he made the right decision.. (though even that remains to be seen....) But the point was it was upsetting seeing Nayla under such stress and seeing dean with watery eyes as he paced around the operating table as his queen and pride and joy was under the knife. Just as a parent would when their child is having open heart Surgery, it is the right thing but surely they (and others..) have a natural response to shed tears.
I love how Lions acts like a hybrid cats and dogs because they are a social creature unlike cats.
Cats are social. A lot of house cats are kept you themselves so the misconception is firmed. Overall cats are more solitary than dogs so I hear you point.
@@nykuss8192 Cats don't have packs thought, Wolves and Lions lives in pack to hunt so they evolve to live together and to have trust. unlike cats they hunts alone. they don't even share their food with their siblings.
