Disney has been going all-in with their streaming series as a way to really flesh out (and milk) the massive properties in their library. The Mandalorian was the first big streaming hit for Disney Plus and is now paving the way for a TON of other Star Wars projects, as well as serving as a launching pad for some of them.
The Mandalorian definitely raises a few questions though. Like how many side quests is Mando trying to complete? Is anything a serious threat when his armor makes him practically invincible? Why did Moff Gideon kill his own men and give up his advantage? Why do the bad guys have a sensitive info terminal that lets you use it if you just have a face? Is everything about the Skywalkers, in the end?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to The Mandalorian! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

  • Hey, shut up I know I have said this in the past, but this is the freaking best pitch meeting I have seen!! So many great jokes, the most recent catch phrase, and It even had a minimovie about Producer Guy, with hero journey and all!

    • I judge pitch meetings by how much longer it takes to watch them due to having to pause the video to laugh and then go back and play the best parts again. 8 minutes became 30 on this one.

    • This was great but the Godzilla: King of the Monsters pitch meeting is still my favorite. It had: - "And he's pretty funny too. At a certain point someone's like, 'Oh my god.' And he's like, 'Zilla...' "God-zilla... That's the name of the monster!" - "Murder and kidnapping are both illegal." - "Volcanoes are hot sometimes." - "Oh secret monster holes are tight!" - "I don't know anybody named HR. Is that your son?" "...Yes." - "So then Emma kind of realizes that her plan to kill millions of people is actually going to get millions of people killed!" - "But she's responsible for an insane amount of death and destruction in this whole entire thing. I'm not sure this is super redeeming." "Right. Well, it's going to happen anyways so I'm gonna need you to *get all the way off my back about it.* - "I actually just had an idea for the title!" "Oh yeah?" "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Godzilla: The Big ol' Lizard- That's not good. I'll figure something else out."

      @Vasharan@Vasharan Жыл бұрын
    • @@Vasharan To be fair, some of Mando's side quests did lead to some character growth, we just don't see much develop from it, and the same can be said of Producer Guy. He just learns to accept that he really likes money and his body's reaction to things with high profitability expectations is okay. It doesn't change how he behaves in any way - the growth is only in his acceptance of it. How is that any different than Mando overcoming his dislike of droids, or the culture shock of the different code the Mandalorian ladies follow, or discovering that the Jedi aren't bad people?

    • I too suffer from a similar situation. Personally, it is usually when I am being chased after upsetting someone who wants to hurt me. I find that I can quickly, and without any prior experience, paint a tunnel into the side of a wall. Even knowing it's a painting I am able to then run through the tunnel. My pursuer, however, immediately runs into a brick wall because it is just a painting.

    • Wait, you guys have similar problem as I do… Like, whenever I smell food that’s too good of a smell, my nose started sniffing on it’s own and pointing to the direction of the smell… But if I keep sniffing, my eyes started to shut and I actually float and flew to the food direction…. What are these phenomenon…?

I'd like to see pitch meetings for the Kingsman movies because being part of a British underground secret spy organization is tight!

    • @@sirellyn , they are getting money though, mostly from Blackrock investment slush funds which to a corporate executive looks the same as actual profits. But Blackrock demands wokily woke product, and when the Blackrock slush money runs out, watch those corporations start flipping back to caring about actual profits.

      @genkibob@genkibob Жыл бұрын
    • @@genkibob It's the ESG scores more specifically. And those are certainly a core evil of this all. Disney also knows it's still loosing money. It will get a bit short term but understand it will lose a lot longer term. Right now the bigger battle is the battling the woke cultists inside the company right now.
