The night before class, someone on IG DM'd me from Stockholm recommending this song! I hopped in the studio really quickly because it was just too good of a song to pass up.
This is an all-levels routine that I taught for this Beginner Class at my "NIGHT OF DANCE" event where I teach 4 classes back to back. The song was perfect for a routine that anyone could personalize and interpret in their own way.
We did a showcase at the end as well!

  • The expressions from the soloist make his performance so much more interesting, they were all great dancers but I was absolutely captivated by the raw emotion he put into it. I feel like it takes something special to immerse yourself that far into a performance and not worry about looking weird or unattractive while doing it because it makes it seem more authentic? I don’t know, I’m not a dancer, but I thought it was great! Props to all the dancers and the choreographer, well done!

We’re sexy, but get too close and we’ll be deadly for you.” But the dude was just like straight up mental (in the most amazing way possible). LOL. I love both interpretations.   • I know everyone is commenting on the male dancer, but I'm just mesmerized by the woman in black. Her movements are just so sharp, and her facial expressions are insane evocative- this is the best choreo I've seen in ages. (To clarify, the woman is Galen Hooks herself and I then went down a very steep rabbit hole of Galen's work- the woman is incredible! Also also, this doesn't detract from the fact Mike is also phenomenal)

  • I’m the girl sitting down in the back wearing a bucket hat. First of all, this is my first KZhead comment in years. The energy and enthusiasm in this room was insane. The second guy is from Romania, and he said he waited 3 years to attend Galen Hooks’ class. We all learned this choreo for an hour and how he absorbed all this is just beyond me. Also, I just really wanna recommend everyone to take a dance class if you can. I’m just a normal person who doesn’t have impressive dancing skills. I took this beginner class to challenge myself and I walked away with a courage to push myself to my limits. Everything about this class was amazing and uplifting!! Thank you Galen’s team for a great class! & thanks for reading my long ass comment xo

  • God so amazing. I love the emotion. I don’t know shit about dancing, can’t coordinate myself well, I’m not in shape, and I dont think I could freestyle to save my life. But I love dancing to music that is important to me. I make up all kinds of mini choreography to this song in particular. Just small things, hand movements, a turn, but the ability to express the emotion you feel with your body is so powerful.
